We really enjoyed our stay here! We got a slightly upgraded room (I think it was called the deluxe? - it was one step up from the standard) and I was surprised at how nice and big it was. Especially for the price, although we did stay during the week. I have paid more than what we paid at Gold Country for a mediocre room elsewhere. The beds are super comfy and come with a ton of pillows- almost all of which ended up on the floor, but still its nice to have comfy bedding. The TV was nice and big and we also ordered room service. The food we ordered was tasty and not too overpriced, although in-room dining is expected to be somewhat. We had a nice big window too- floor to ceiling, and almost the entire length of the room. Although it was mainly a view of the parking lot, it was really nice. The closet was really big- a walk in closet! The best part though was the bathroom! It was very large, and had a jacuzzi tub. The shampoo and soap line that they provide are the same that the Peppermill in Reno uses. However Gold Country also gives you mouthwash and bath salts! And they little rubber duckie is cute. The elevators and hallways throughout the hotel/casino are nice and well kept- looks newly remodeled. It was a really nice stay, and we would recommend it!

This certainly one of the better indian casinos that I have been to. If youre looking to win life changing amounts of money in tables or slots, Vegas or Reno, would be my best suggestion. As with any indian casino, huge jackpot payouts are few and far between, the term "indian giver" was coined for a reason. But if your just wanting to have a fun evening out in a pleasant environment, nice atmosphere and possibly walk out with a little more money than you walked in with... Then Gold Country Casino would be the better odds Casino, in my opinion. There is a decent 24 hour cafe style restaurant, as well a little coffee shop/snack bar and an all you can eat buffet (excellent buffet) located on the 2nd floor of the casino. And if you are looking for an higher end dining, there is an EXCELLENT Steak House that is located on the 6th floor (I believe its the 6th floor) I would highly recommend, especially if you are wanting an elegant, romantic setting to impress that special someone.

As casinos go, this one has many other good offeri gs besides gambling. There are 3 restaurants, 2 event locations for excellent music acts and other performances. There are frequent special holiday events. They host good romantic weekend and other packages with perks. The security is on top of everything so people better watch it to stay in line or risk being asked to leave, they even have cameras with very sharp sound pickup in all the parking lots and that could probably eavesdrop on your hotel rooms if they wished, though that is illegal, therefore, unlikely. The hotel rooms are nice and big and clean and reasonably priced. You have self serve soda and coffee available 24/7 in the casino. There is a whole seperate building for bingo. The staff is pretty nice. They offer many perks and incentives to their customers. For a casino, its pretty cool.

Ive stayed here a couple times when attending family reunions in the area. What relaxing, clean and spacious rooms!!! I will definitely stay here again when I can. Its so nice to come "home" to an air conditioned room in hot Oroville. The Casino is nice, lots to do, even bowling! The food, OMG, the food!! I could not believe the Friday (?) night Smorgasbord. I have never seen that much crab in one place before and a chef exclusively dedicated to making omelettes. We also scheduled a trip to the area to see one of my favorite bands play. The lineup in the showroom is impressive at all times so I watch it as I can see family on the same trip. But, what REALLY blew me away was the 12 foot models of Maidu baskets in the Casino. I was a history major and these are gorgeous! WOW!

On Tuesday August 23 during senior promotion I was verbally accosted by another player ( Jo Devon) and want able to get her off of me before we put. Hands on one another , I was so embarrassed by the behavior I retreated out front and then left as she continued her triad of words over a two dollar loan.petty to be sure,right? Well apparently Ive been 86ed now and I did no more then her ,in fact I didnt raise my voice even ,yet they allow someone that vulgar to remain? I expected to have repercussion due to behavior as this is customary there but like I said ,she accosted me and she was the only raised voice( very vulgar to) so why single me out. What type of favoritism. Is really up with you all?

The Smoke Shop located outside of the Casino is the Best Place to buy your cigarettes. The Brands are a Generic Version of Popular Brands. My Brand is very hard to find. They carry a Generic Version that is very close to it. Its also 55% less expensive.I enjoy the Generic Version called Opal 120s. It also has a Drive Up Window. Tell the Customer Service Person what you normally smoke and the will be happy to tell you what the cross reference is to Their Brand. $3.00 to $3.50 a pack to $30.00 a Carton. Ask them about more savings. The Smoke Shop is open 6am to 10pm. They are all very helpful. Especially Karen!

I went to Gold Country Casino last night and I was so impressed with everything. We played the slots and in my opinion, they pay out much better than other casinos nearby. Afterward we ate at the cafe on the 2nd floor where I had the best ribeye steak dinner Ive ever had. It was cooked exactly the way I asked for and it was so tender and delicious. Good sized portions of everything, wonderful waiter and all at a decent price. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Gold Country Casino and recommend going there. I will definitely go again. Iwould give it more than 5 stars if I could

we were there for our honeymoon and we had a terrible experience. we were charged 2 prices for the room, couldnt get room service, then told it was too busy to order food to go from the only restaurant open in the casino. we had to speak to management in order to get food and then werent given what we ordered had to go back down for silverware and host had bad attitude. this is a place that we would never recommend for anyone! as many times as we had to talk to management everything should have been complimentary.
