REALLY Wanted to like this place, but it made me wish i had driven to the multiplex, it was so bad. Depressing, musty, cold and very run down. The theater shouldnt distract you from the movie, but it was a big distraction. Uncomfortable seats and a very Blurry screen which ruined the movie. Was really annoyed and wanted a refund, but felt too sorry for them to ask and just wanted to get out. They either need to put some serious money in to it or let it go.

Great little theater. Everyone in Moraga should visit there at least once to get the nostalgic feel of old movie theater. And to find out, most likely surprisingly, how good the picture quality and sound systems are. Not to mention those great, cozy reclining leather chairs in the front available for couple extra buck. Only thing missing is a glass of Lamorindas own Cabernet Sauvignon snd little bit cheese, but maybe one of these days we get that there too.

Went there this last week for a date night and for a small local theatre, I really can appreciate the current movies, the seats were all clean and new. Projection was great and didnt have any issues. Plenty of parking and nice not to have to hassle the crowds down in Walnut Creek or Concord. The new owners must be doing a good job! And we ate at the new Mediterranean near it and it was fabulous! A great local place to go for dinner and a current movie!

We LOVE this theater .. yes it is old .. but that is definitely part of the charm! One of the theaters has Chairs with tables .. another one has some couches in the back and yet another one has HUGE bean bag chairs .. Its quiet and not crowded .. We drive all the way from Pleasanton to enjoy this place. I cant say enough ... if you enjoy stepping back in time this is the place for you! LOVE IT .. the manager/owner is SUPER awesome too

The Rheem Theatre is now called The New Rheem Theatre. It shut down for a few months, but new owners reopened it late June 2010. I mention this because the new owners have made many upgrade to the screens, projection, sound, and seating. It is a great little theatre and a lovely respite from the bustling megaplex scene. Plenty of parking and food nearby.

We had a great experience at the New Rheem Theater. The theater was full of leather loveseat couches and side-tables (kind of like a very large home-theater). The movie audio and video were very good, although the screen was on the small side. Again, the seats were awesome and comfortable and makes this a destination theater.

Pretty much the only fun recreational activity Moraga has besides the Discgolf course at the commons. Love the seating its so comfortable! All the high schoolers use it though and due to the fact the seating at the back is just SO comfy, I wonder what the area would look like if you took a black light to it. Yikes!

If you live in Moraga, you probably already know and love this wonderful theater. Please support it by watching your films locally. I love the art deco, I love the ambiance, I love the local feel, I love how they promote artistic movies, as much as art events, besides the mandatory Hollywood stuff.

Honestly the worst movie theater Ive ever been to. Barely functioning. Last time one of the employees was visibly drunk. I brought this up to the manager who then started telling at me for making such accusations. I left confused but determined never to return.

Love the service and location. A neighborhood movie teather where families of the Moraga-Lafayette areas get to see new released movies. Parking access is always available without worrying about expired meters or expensive parking fees. Just love it!

I love this place except for the fact that they dont have kettlecorn :( oh and there is a small tear in the screen in the upper thatre I saw when we watched Kong that was fairly annoying.

Great old style theater. Interesting movie memorabilia in lobby as this is also a movie museum. Large theater downstairs and several upstairs. Nice to have a privately owned theater!

It is such a classic theater, it has architecture, events, movies, and a nice bathroom. Such a classic feel that other movie theaters just dont offer anymore

One of the last classic theaters. Go there while you can. Hopefully it wont be torn down like the bowling alley and all the other vintage landmarks

Best kept secret in the area. This historic movie house has survived several attempts to shut it down. Its a great theater for this small town.

Cozy, simple and not crowded. Also have big chairs to sit in and some couch like chairs. Was really relaxing, and easy to enjoy the movie.

Its good. Its simple and fun to go to. Not giant or in a huge mall. Its one of the few theaters you can just chill with your friends.

Its not as pretty as The Orinda Theater, but obviously born in the 30s.....Still, a very cool place to go and see a Movie.
