They were featured in AAAs "Via" Magazine last summer & this theater definitely provides a fun & unique movie-watching experience. Its located in a quonset hut decorated with pretty local scenery painted by a talented local kid ages ago. All the locals & regular vacationers go here & many families have come here for generations.The Rio has the BEST snack bar EVER, with gourmet hot dogs, boca (veggie) burgers, mini-pizzas, popcorn with real butter (not that crappy butter-flavoring stuff), juice, lemonade, soda, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, beer, wine, & (best of all, as far as my daughters concerned) an assortment of candies, including 13 sour gummi worms for $1.My family & I like to go early sometimes so we can grab a bite to eat & sit on their nice deck. Some quick caveats: (1) If its cold out, sit in the middle rows; & (2) If you like quiet, avoid the matinee.They also serve most of the items listed above throughout the day at their little cafe on the other side.

Spezielle Architektur und Akustk verleihen diesem Kino eine ganz spezielle Aura. Im angegliederten Kaffee gibt es lustige und zum teil etwas schräge Leute. Ein spezieller Ort auf jeden Fall der den Zenit seiner Zeit überschritten hat, aber vielleicht gerade deswegen über eine Patina verfügt die man nicht mehr vergessen wird.

This review is actually for the cafe. Ive been here a few times for breakfast and lunch and its delicious. First of all, the food is cooked on a one-of-a-kind car griddle. They put a griddle in the frame of an old classic car that has flames painted on the side of it. The chef is super nice also. We went two days in a row and he remembered us and greeted us with "welcome back you guys!". The menu has something on it for everyone. Im amazed at what he can cook up on that griddle. They also have really good coffee and serve almond milk! Definitely recommend if youre in the Monte Rio area.

Hi there. The marker for the Rio Theater is a ways off target. I understand said marker is approximate. The theater lies on the inside corner of Hwy.116 and Bohemian Hwy. on the other side of the Russian River. Sue and Don who run the theater are wonderful community oriented folks and they bring in great selections of current movies. It is fun theater to go to. We all think highly of them. Judith
