STAY AWAY!!!! Very DANGEROUS, Security guards and Managers are a bunch of VIOLENT ASSHOLES!!! Four (4) Married Couples went to Edison last night and it was the worst night of our lives!!! The food absolutely, positively Sucks, the sliders are (2) two pieces of uncooked, fat,the fish and chips are supposed to be snapper on the menu (but the waitress informed us it was cod) and tasted as if it was dipped in oil before being brought to the table, the deviled eggs were not edible and everything else was made with the lowest quality EVER. Simply put Mcdonalds would be a huge upgrade than this place. The security guards started harassing us for absolutely no reason at the end of the night when they wanted to go home early. The manager started to chastise us like we were children because we didnt turn off the birthday candles immediately. The first female security guard treated a person at the party with lazy eyes disprepectfully by saying he was sleeping and it is against the laws of California. Then another security guard stood above our head with a ear-piece intimidating us into leaving the establishment in the establishment early IMMEDIATELY after paying the bill. The secuirty guards started physically pushing us out of the establishment for no reason. They justified their actions by "guilt by association" and since you didnt like the food you deserve to be treated this way and never come back. While we were waiting for valet one of the young white, employees were saying taunting us and saying rude and disrepectful words about our penis sizes and copying down our license plates and promising that we will get DUIs tonight. I politely went up to him and told him that it is absolutely unnecesary to Taunt the customers and make them angry, just go back into the establishment, and he told me "I am off the clock, I am a private citizen, and I have the right to be here and say anything I want." WTF? All the security guards refused to give their names or call the police upon request. They said we were trespassing and we said that we are paying customers and they responded since your bill has been paid you are now trespassing!!!

Who doesnt love the glam and glitz of an old school Hollywood-style bar/ lounge serving up some seriously high-quality booze- from absinthe & artisinal cocktails, to craft beers & sweet non-alcoholic bevvies- and sporting a hefty menu packed with delicious bar food with an upscale twist? This particular spot was actually renovated from an old private power plant, and has an almost Steampunk-esque vibe, with strong connotations of the Industrial Revolution, and features live music, burlesque shows, & comfy seating accommodations- if you can manage to snag some. I came here for a pre-Halloween bash, and the place was hopping from the beginning, with live music- complete with a devilish orchestra- costumed Angelinos, several big screens situated on different walls playing classic horror movies from the black-and-white days, like Frankenstein, and even stilt-walkers playing pranks on unsuspecting drinkers at the bar, (all in good fun, of course). I can personally attest to the food being delicious, the drinks being classy & potent, and the prices being, more or less, fair ($14 per cocktail). I highly recommend the California Fresh Flatbread; it pairs perfectly with anything you might be drinking. Overall, this place has all the qualities of the perfect quintessential spot to enjoy nightlife in the big city. The only downside is, as with any popular joint in LA, theres the hassle of having to find and pay for parking, having to pay to get in, and then spending a small fortune on food and drinks once youre inside. Soo, you may have to save some pennies if you want to spend a pleasurable night with your friends and not have to worry about breaking the bank in the process.

I celebrated my birthday at the Edison on Saturday, 1/14. There were four of us in our party. My friends arrived before me and were seated at our table. A female staff member approached them seeing a wrapped gift and insisted that my friends go upstairs to check the gift at a fee of $3.00?? When I arrived and heard this, I spoke to a female staff member asking that the GM come to my table regarding this issue. 30 minutes passed before the same girl returned to my table with my friends money for checking the gift?? Our final bill for the night was several hundred dollars in which the check was split in half. One paid half in cash, and the other paid with his credit card. Apparently, the waitress did not tell anyone, or pocketed the cash, because the credit card was charged for the entire amount??? The service stinks and now my party paid 150% of the bill!!! Everytime, we have gone to this club, the service is at a Glacier pace and someone always gets ripped off!!! Never going there again!!

my not-so-hidden-gem :) I celebrated my birthday here with my friends. Unfortunately my birthday is near Valentines day so there was a long line (mostly couples). We didnt get in til 12:30... thats what you get if you show up super late :/ We still had a lot of fun and the drinks were a hit or miss. LOVE: - Gorgeous Absinthe Fairy with her adorable cart - lil absinthe bottles!!!! - tons of places to take cool pictures - the silent films projected onto the wall - people dressed up in flapper themes - sexy 1920s decor Meh: - absinthe...not a huge black licorice fan and the flavor made it more funky - line - dance area isnt as big so it could get crowded Dont forget to look for the tiny room where they have a piano. If you dont know what you want, ask the bartender to make you something cool :D Best place to take people who are visiting from out of town :) or a girls night out

I was always tried to take everyone to this place till tonight , we went there for my brother birthday , its been long time I have been there, I wasnt sure about dress code so I called before we go, the guy said T-shert and Jean is ok you just have to wear dress shoes not a tennis shoes, we got there and this big fat security that he thinks he rule the entire world didnt let me get in, he said I have to have shert I showed him my phone that I called and asked but he was just keep saying over and over nobody in this building would say such thing after long argument just because of just one person they didnt let us get in. 8 people after spending a lot of time and paying $12 parking ticket have to go back. Places like this they need to have someone to know what he saying over phone and also have better personality person in front door.

For 2 years The Edison was my favorite spot in LA and always was looking forward to go there when i was visiting LA (I live in San Diego). 2 days ago I was there again and it was very, very disappointing. What happened to their dress code enforcement - wearing Ugg boots???!!! Ski caps? Flannel checkered shirts??? Not only it was distasteful but it was almost insulting to us who were trying to be dressed in this particular period style. The cocktails had maybe 1% alcohol (mostly juice), the burlesque show was also not the same as before and crowd was simply unbearable. I guess the management got very greedy and they dont care who is getting in as long as they pay cover charge. Unfortunately the place lost its charm, upscale atmosphere and sophistication. Very sad and disappointing because it truly was a very unique spot.
