This was THE WORST BAR EXPERIENCE I have ever encountered. It started when I arrived around 2320 hours when I attempted to order my first drink of the night. My girlfriend and I stood at the center of the bar for about 5 minutes, being blatantly ignored by the (obviously) intoxicated bar tenders. By obviously, I mean to say that I actually witnessed one of the female bar tenders (not Angie) take a shot of liquor and Chase it with a bit of a lime wedge. Right after witnessing this I WAS STRUCK ON THE JAW BY A FULL BEER BOTTLE which had been tossed across the bar by the male bartender Raul in an attempt to land it into a trash can approximately 2 feet away from me. At this point, Raul seemed shocked and a bit confused as to what had just happened. Shocked, I picked up the full beer bottle of "Blue Moon" from the bar top and held it in disbelief as Raul grabbed my arm, pulled me in and said "I got your next drink, OK? " at that point I felt as if he was trying to hush me while his bar-back Angie gave him a "typical" look. At that moment, I asked to speak to the manager (Cameron), whom they could not seem to find and then told me it would be over a half an hour wait to speak to him. Raul then told me I was more than welcome to wait and walked away from me. Irritated, I walked to the front and spoke to the security guards outside and explained the story to them. They then called the owner of the club, Carl, who seemed a bit standoff-ish and also intoxicated. I then explained the situation to him, at which point he said he would have to investigate it and get back to me. He took my information, as I took his, and he went on his way. I would NEVER suggest this bar to anyone just based on the total fact that the morals standards and ethics of the staff in this bar just seem very low, to say the least.

Well where do I start. I came here for my birthday hoping to have an awesome night. It ended being a dreadful night. All the bar tenders were snotty especially this one girl at the main bar she had attitude from the beginning. She told one of my friends if you want a good drink that she better tip more than a dollar. First of all your job is to makes a drink thats it. We choose if we want to tip. So she decided to call security on us which one of the securities was actually nice and told me what happen and I told him. He just told me to ignore her ass and go to the other bartender outside. So we did but those guys were assholes too. They did not make the drinks properly and when we told them what the drinks Consist of they got upset. We where just trying to get our moneys worth. At the end we still tried to have fun but towards the end the securities were trying to kick everyone out by 1:30pm and by pushing everyone out. One of the securities even punched my friend. Which is not okay!! The difference between you and me is that you only have a tshirt that says security. Gives you no right to treat people like that. We asked for his name and he didnt want to give it to me. He wasnt being professional at all. I just hope the manager reads all this And stops hiring stupid ignorant assholes to work there.

Walking in, you might find it dark and gloomy and that feeling of " uh oh what did i get myself into?" Though that might be the initial thought process once you get to the back- youll see an interesting layout. A small stage ( apparently they have little people wrestling match on it) and a wrap around tent. We came on a day where they had a mini art gallery, so that was neat! Drinks here are amazingly cheap, granted we were there around 3pm- but it is a dive bar so I am sure its a continuous price. One of the popular drinks here are the pomelo, which is pretty much tequila and Squirt Soda. Great Company and cheap drinks will always be a awesome time!

Hard to generalize this place. It can be great, it can be a drag. Depends on the night and the crowd. For the most part events held here are great, especially the weekly nights (Punky Reggae sometimes, Part-Time Punks, etc). When there are semi-popular acts, the place gets packed! Very hot, with little room to maneuver (both bars have very narrow lanes). The outside patio is where its at for drinks and a cool breeze reprieve. During the day its a great spot to soak in the summer afternoons and have a nice beer, though youll lose the "young" crowd and substitute for a handful of regulars and a really cool mariachi with an accordion.

The first time I came to La Cita was 2010, and it was a pretty spacious bar, it was roller derby night, and while the music was good, the drinks are pretty highly pricy. Still that night was great, and since then I have been coming. Last time I went was for a show, on February for Valentines day, this time it was extremely crowded. The music is remixed in Spanish and English, which in my case is a good vibe for any Latinos, Hispanics or Cultured Angelenos. Good thing they have a back patio, where there is another bar and room to sit. Mucho Mas is happening, and I am on the list for there calendar events.

Divey Ranchero bar, at least on Sundays. Admittedly, I only come here on Sunday/funday afternoons. There is a nice patio in the back with the best diy bloody mary bar. Inside, an awesome band on the bandstand plays ranchero music to the regulars at the bar and for couples who want to dance among the rope lights and glitter ball scattered light. For the past two years, Ive seen this one guy who chants "Otra! Otra!" as soon as the band stops playing. I cant speak to the other days, though I have friends who really loved punky reggae night.

Mexican theme dive bar in LA. Can be hit or miss depending on the night (different themes day to day: reggae, hip hop, soul, etc). More often than not there is a cover charge at night, drinks just OK. Better to drink beer there. Good for a casual night with friends. They have a large patio which is great if you want fresh air but be warned everyone, I mean everyone on the patio is smoking. For large sports games they pull the big screen out on the patio only which is cool only if you smoke.

I was looking for a place to dance bachata, salsa, merengue.... Mustve come on the wrong night!!! Can of beer $6 music not my style. DJ leaves too much time in between songs so leaves you on the floor with those awkward seconds of standing around waiting for the next song to play. The one thing I DID like is that if I ever want somewhere just to chill and dont have to get dressed and have a drink this is it. Just not on Sundays. Might try another night... Maybe it was just tonight.

It was 102 degrees in Los Angeles today. After picking up my beautiful gold wedding band in the Jewelry District we decided to find a nice "cool" bar to have a couple of beers. Not a large crowd at 1:00 in the afternoon but great prices on drinks. One Corona, one Modelo and one Tecate and limes... $11.00. The nice bartenders told us that it is happening on Sundays with Bloodys on the outside patio and dancing inside. We might have to check that out.
