Porter Creek is probably my favorite winery in Sonoma County (thus far?). I dont remember the number of times Ive been, but every time has been good. Do be sure that your palate is very clear; the wines are not nearly as good (and theyre usually stunning) if your palate is already busted. Jonathan and Paul in the tasting room do a very good job merging groups conversations while keeping tastings moving at a healthy pace. They do not rush anyone, and they are both knowledgable both about the wines and life in general. The tasting room at Porter Creek is very small. At best seven people are comfortable at the tasting bar; if it is full, its worth trying to come back for that experience. There is room to accommodate more in the tasting room itself, but the standing and waiting for pours is not as enjoyable and cuts into conversations. The carignane and Viognier are my favorite of their wines, though their new rosé is quite stunning. Definitely put Porter Creek on your list.

We stopped by this winery back in 2006 and bought a couple of cases of wine. It seems we have really good luck on these smaller wineries. I hoarded a bottle of their 2005 Shyrah and opened it May of 2013 - WOW it really blew my socks off I couldnt believe how bold and robust flavors it had, but, still so smooth and silky. I only wish I had bought a dozen or so cases. If you are visiting wine country, Porter Creek is a Must,We will be back their in July of 2013 for sure. Dana Bodnar Surprise, AZ

I loved this little place. It feels like you are in someones home. Everyone is standing around a room with a kitchen sink and dollar bills and other currency stapled on every surface. The brothers of the family are very cool and down to earth. If you love port, you will love this place, especially if you are into aged port that has that yummy, musty, oakey taste. A bit expensive, though....

Going through Sonoma with out experiencing their wines would be a mistake. Easily one of my favorite domestic producers. I highly recommend a visit. The staff is as freindly as the wines are good and the wines are exceptional.

Best wine we had in Russian River Valley and Dry Creek. Didnt hit all of them by any means but this one definitely stuck out. Would recommend to anyone.

The Old Scotsman served us terrific wines. The story and style of Porter Creek wines are elegant, structured and tasty. Highly recommended.
