Went to Valley of the Moon winery with relatives over the holiday weekend. When we walked in we were greeted by a gentleman and was very nice. We walked to the other side of the bar for tasting and unfortunately the person who started talking to us was extremely rude and disrespectful. My husband and I both work in the wine industry and we have never come across this type of service, or non-service. We left without tasting and will not be back. I wish we got the persons name because I cant believe a business would want that kind of customer service. Dont waste your time, there are plenty of great wineries in the Sonoma Valley to visit.

This winery is situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Its in a secluded place full of emaciated grape vines contrasted by a yellow flower proliferation. Im mentioning this because the ambience of the area really lifts our spirits up. The vintner is a cool guy. He knows his stuff. They dont sell any sweet wines. I know this for sure because I was hoping that Id find them in the wine tasting event. Overall they have a pretty good selection of wines.

The rosato di sangiovese is fabulous: best rosato Ive tried all year (and I work with wines)! We were fortunate enough to meet Kat Adams, the winemaker, and had a very interesting time learning about what goes into the vision for each wine. I would highly recommend this vineyard if you are passing through Glen Ellen. Besides the rosato, try the Blend 41, the sparkling white, and the cabernet (any vintage!). Thanks again for such a wonderful experience!

This place was great for tasting and a little relaxation. We got there in the morning when it wasnt crowded and had all the personal attention from the lady behind the bar we could want. Great conversation, and they let the 4 of us split 2 tastings. Pretty grounds as well.

Hidden gem - bocce ball court, patio seating, no reservation required. Friends and family discount is extremely generous. Laid back atmosphere and approachable staff. Limited food options. Best Sangiovese Ive ever had (2013, but other years are amazing too).

These wonderful people that make this Great Wine, are to be commended, Their Zins are gold medal winners every year. The Estate Zinfandel (60+ year old vines) is my personal favorite, and even though I have relocated to Michigan I still order it from here.
