This is one of my favorite wineries in Sonoma County, easily my favorite in such close proximity to Sonoma itself. Ive been twice and had a great experience both time. My second trip was explicitly to get two bottles of Viognier. The tasting room, which offers 5 pours for $10, is the only source of distribution. There are a number of European varietals not available in many other California wineries. In addition to the Viognier I recommend the white Burgundy, the Primitivo, and for aging the Lagrein. And additional perk of Imagery is an intentional engagement with visual art. Every vintage of every varietal gets a new label every year — a shrunk version of a commissioned piece of art. Many of the originals are on display and for sale in the gallery just off the tasting room.

Cant say enough about this little gem in Glen Ellen. When I visit family in Sacramento we always make a special trip to wine country. Every trip starts the same - grand visions of tasting at 4, 5, maybe 6 wineries. Every trip ends the same - spend half the day at Imagery. Why wouldnt you? The wines are fantastic, and unusual. Theyve got varietals you dont see everywhere, like Lagrein and Tempranillo. But even better in my opinion, is the atmosphere. Give yourself enough time to walk the grounds and tour the label-art gallery. Take a bottle of wine to the picnic area and play some bocce ball. Make a day of it, you wont be disappointed at Imagery.

I dont go to Sonoma that often and when I do, Im usually up knee deep in Russian River Valley. But since we had dinner reservations in downtown Sonoma, Glen Ellen was a much more convenient choice. Imagery was packed with people on the day we went. Maybe it was due to their open house party. Or maybe theyre just super popular. It was overwhelming and service was incredibly slow. The wines were decent. Nothing I would take home with me. If you check in on foursquare, youll get a 2 for 1 tasting deal. That makes the experience better. Theres an outdoor area with lawn chairs, bocce ball and horseshoe. Fun if youre in a group!

This winery has such a laid back, fun and quirky vibe that we could have stayed here all day! Gorgeous patio area to sit after youve finished your tasting and grab a bite to eat with a picnic lunch. The wines are all very unique and the art on the labels tells a great story. I loved the malbec, but the rest were all quite bold for my tastes. We had a great Somm who told us all about the history of the vineyard and directed us to a free tasting at the Benziger estate just a few minutes down the road. Also, there are a ton of really cute gifts to look through and buy for friends, no matter if you are local or traveling.

We headed here for our second tasting of the day and had a great time. Stephen took care of us and explained in detail the differences in the wines we were trying so we could appreciate them better. We know nothing about wine except it tastes good, so it was very cool to get a little education about the various types! We brought a picnic lunch and after our tasting headed outside to their beautiful lawns and ate, drank another glass, and relaxed. Very pleasant experience!

Had a great time here. Brought a picnic and bought a bottle of wine, ate by the bocci ball court. Nate did a great job with the tastings. Really enjoyed the Tempranillo and Lagrein wines. Place was lively and fun, compared to some of the other winerys we went to which were overpriced and thought a little too much of themselves. This was a place I would bring friends to and would come back to again. We were so impressed with Imagery and Bezingers we became wine club members.

One of my favorite wineries in Sonoma. My wife and I first discovered it in 2007, and brought a case with us back to Florida. While roaming the selection on our first trip, we stopped to admire a beautiful label, only to discover the artist (Hung Liu) browsing with us! But the real beauty is in the location - a wonderful blend of art and wine. If you visit Sonoma, dont miss this excellent winery.

Mje, we got a complimentary tasting to this place from Berzingers, so kind of why we went - and since it was free I cant really complain but wouldnt have paid for it. We had one white wine that was nice but none of the red ones were good. Tasting area was really boring, and patios outside were for club members or private parties. I recommend you go elsewhere.

Went here with some friends for a picnic and some wine. Bought two bottles of wine and then were told we couldnt sit at the picnic tables unless we paid $50 for a table for two hours. I asked if the $100 we paid for our wine would wave that fee for us. Nope, go sit on the grass in the sun son. Thanks for visiting Imagery, hope you come back soon. Doubtful.

I absolutely LOVE this winery! All the wines are awesome and the wine labels are fun! I love how each artist has to incorporate the Parthenon in some way for every label. This is quite a gem and grateful to have it so close to home.

Wow, had the best time here. We were having a lovely day casually sipping wine on the back deck when we were joined by one of the owners, Joe, who introduced us to some really nice selections. Love the themes, art and drinks.

This is a nice stop to make along Highway 12, not just for the wine drinking members of your party. There are picnic tables and grassy areas for you to lay out a blanket and enjoy the sun, as well as bocce ball courts!

Ive never bought more than two bottles of wine at a time. Here, I bought six. All different, and all tasted at the tasting. I had to buy a special box to ship them back. So delicious.

Became a member after visiting for the first time. Wonderful staff and a great selection of delicious wines. Their affiliation with sister winery and accompanying perks is a nice bonus.

It was a bit crowded and the wines I couldnt really remember. I would like to revisit when it is not the third one I go to so I can get a better grasp on the wine

The wine was decent, with a few particularly good dessert wines, but the art gallery adds an interesting touch that is a good way to kill a little time.

Wonderful and knowledgeable wine educators. Some of their reds are pretty darn good, and seem fairly unique to the valley.

Underage, so not able to drink, but I could tell they were a nice staff. Great area and was happy they had a bocce court.

The place is alright but not great. If you have too choose go to their sister winery Bertzinger instead.
