Just south of the town of Kenwood on the west side of the road is the entrance. You drive past a few giraffes in their wetland and then pull up to what looks like a basic production facility until you round the corner and see the entrance to their massive wine cave. About 500 ft they have a beautifully appointed tasting room with seating areas and a small tasting bar. They focus on clean and green wine so everything is low sulfite, no histamine and made from environmentally friendly processes and organic grapes. They do a lot of blends and the wines are spectacular. Every wine we tasted had an above average amount of depth and texture. This really was one of our few stops where I can say I liked every single wine! Its easy to miss and some things say they are still by appt only but they are open Mon-Sun 10.30-4.30. They are still doing some construction so they said if someone has special needs they should call ahead. This is a great find as opposed to the many other crowded and over priced tasting rooms!

Passing by the no limo parking is always a good sign for the smaller group crowd we had-4 people. After parking we were greeted by the gorgeous rows of vines with the mountains as a backdrop. Then you go into the cave where you walk by what seem to be hundreds of oak barrels guiding you to the tasting room. When we walked in, the man behind the counter told us to pick a apt and hed being the wines over. Not that i mind being at a serving counter/bar, but being able to sit on a couch while tasting and being able to talk to our group face to face, possibly how we would enjoy them at home was a nice, comfortable touch. My wife and myself may have disliked only one of their wines, all the rest were excellent. We live across the country and still joined their wine club we enjoyed them so much. Check out the star wars theme room behind the tasting area abs hang out with Obi Wine Kenobi, the house canine greeter!

Excellent in every way. Met Robert and PJ years ago and have been huge fans ever since. If i had to chose 1 and only 1 winery to drink wine from for the rest of my life I would choose Deerfield. You can taste the care and love Robert puts into each bottle. Clearly its his passion. He has mentored many "famous" winemakers who have gone on to do great things and be very successful. Robert will never take credit or brag because he is a humble and gracious winemaker. In my opinion one of the very best at his craft, and he and PJ both are an exemplary, giving,generous people. He uses very little sulfates (as PJ is allergic to them) so the wine is very "clean" in addition to being world class. Do yourself a favor and get familiar with all there wines. You will be happy you did. Sante!!

For the principles they stand on alone, I would have to highly recommend this winery, but their practices not only make you feel good, they make the wine taste good as well. I did a tasting and started with some Pinot Grigio which was excellent, fresh and crisp, and perfect for relaxing in the shade on a hot day. Moving onto the reds, which I prefer, I was not disappointed with any of the offerings. I liked the Pinot Noir and the Cabernet Sauvignon, though I am admittedly a fan of almost anything with cabernet, and while not a huge fan of Syrahs, theirs was impressive. One of the best things, however, was the experience of doing this tasting within a wine cave. The smell in the air and the naturally cool air is at the same time, both relaxing and invigorating.

Ive been a member here for 2 years and have sent dozens of people here who were visiting the area. The wine is excellent and the experience is unique. Deerfield dont take the usual winery approach of offering 3 mediocre wines followed by 2 decent ones, their wines are pretty much excellent across the board. Their Zin, Meritage and DRX are best and they sometimes create a dessert wine called Gold which is spectacular. Its a relaxed atmosphere too with couches and servers that are pleasant

One of the best places we stopped at on our trip. I dont think there was one wine that we tried that we didnt like and on top of that, a tasting lounge in a wine cave and great staff (like Ben) made it more enjoyable. Definitely plan to stop by on your way through.

Outstanding organic CLEAN wines and the winery is beautiful (along the Kenwood Marsh wetlands) without being pretentious! They put there money into the wines and not some gaudy building!
