This is a lovely place and this place teach our kids to love animals and that will make him/her a compassionate and responsible human being. There are many values you can teach your kids when visiting "The Belmont Goats". This teaches the following values: 1) Compassion 2) Acceptance of Differences 3) Appreciation 4) Caring 5) Love 6) Friendship of what is different 7) Patience 8)Tolerance 9) Vision. Talk to them and mention the VALUES when you visit the goats. For example: "Look what a nice goat, we need to be COMPASSIONATE with animals cause they feel just like you and me, they get hungry, they want mommy too, etc" Another Example "Look, he is different but still very cute, isnt he? do you like the goats horns? what about the goats face?? its different than you but it does not matter, the little goat has a huge heart and wants you to love him and respect him right?" ..... Teach the THE VALUES

Ive brought groups of campers, ages 10–16, to visit the goats and photograph them for a few years now, since they were at their original location. They are wonderful and gentle, each with its own personality. Chester is the alpha male, and hes a wonderful model. Bambi is class clown. Bix, the most frequent human there is very nice and accommodating. The herd is a great addition to our fun and funky city. Long may they graze!

When I need fresh air, or just a bit of advice from my consieliere Chester, the goats are awesome company. And if the goats arent Portland enough for ya, the goats have their own pet chicken.

Very fun being able to interact with the goats here. My girls love them! So CRAZY that they are living where I used to play Lents Little League as a kid so many moons ago :)
