***August 26, 2012 (Played Paintball + Review)*** First off let me say that the campground is beautiful and clean. However, I came up for the day to play paintball with a large group and we didnt have a great time. Ill start this review off by the overwhelming list of CONS, PROS, and some things I think would make for a better experience. ****CONS**** We arrived early evening at about 4:30pm. We got our gear and had to wait for the ref and the lady (who was nice) to give us our paintballs. We didnt start a game until 4:55pm. The service was terrible, the ref (only 1 ref on a 16v16 game) would disappear after a game for 10-15 mins. After one game my group and I had the same complaint, our masks fogged up within five minutes of playing. Not only were the masks terrible, but the guns had extremely short barrels and the balls would veer off after about 10 ft. When a couple of us asked how to lessen the amount of fog on our masks their reply (in a snarky tone) was, "dont breathe." Yeah funny I suppose, but if we werent having so much trouble trying to get a game going and having our guns be complete crap I wouldnt have looked into that comment too much. It just set the tone for the rest of the night. I heard a lot of great things and even read reviews about their paintball and heard nothing but great things. The ref (younger man) would tell us what game we were playing, what field we were playing on, and gave us a short amount of time in game. We had suggested early in our night that we just wanted to do Team Deathmatch with no objectives. He wouldnt let us do it. People would be shot and the ref wouldnt call them out because he cant cover such a large area by himself. The employees didnt offer to clean masks or to clean out the tube in the guns. One last thing I would say is a bit of trouble is there isnt enough daylight coming through. Lots of trees are great as cover, but block a lot of the light coming though. The first course we played on was hard to see other players. However, this wasnt the issue on the other field. ****PROS**** Both fields are really well designed. The first field as you walk in is pretty narrow, but good for a 8v8 game (not a 16v16 game as we did). The prices are fair running at $30 for entry that comes with gun, mask, unlimited C02 and 500 paintballs. Group of 8+ you save $5 a person. The staging area is nice as there is a lot of places to sit and an under covered bench area. Safety video on the TV is quick and easy to follow. *****WHAT THEY CAN IMPROVE ON****** I would have loved to see the employees and refs be more helpful and spend a little bit of money to get guns that would actually shoot straight. Warpaint actually helps out in this department. I dont play a lot of paintball but I know that Warpaint has better equipment and service than Camp Dakota. I really would love to come back if they would improve on the CONS which is why I gave it a Poor-Fair score on Quality and Service

Not impressed - truly dont understand all the great Google ratings? Way OVERPRICED, especially if you are bringing a group of people for a birthday party or something similar. Dont be fooled by the advertised "packages" that are included with yurt rentals. While the pricing is disclosed on their website, I feel the "early bird" advertised package we purchased ($275.00 - 2 nights, only 1 day of dreary activities) was obnubilated with the zip lines / challenge courses (with the "discounts" our group of 9 could pay an additional $495 to partake in the "real" challenge course or $360 for the "not so great, smaller, 6 line" zip line tour.) The small exposure that comes with the yurt packages is insignificant. To fully partake with a party of > 5 individuals, and to fully enjoy the site, plan on forking out $800 - $1000 (keep in mind, this excludes the cost of food to feed the members of your party.) The staff is comprised of young adults / older teenagers who, sadly, lack any sort of humor, are pompous and answer questions in a belittling manner. Truly, I dont think I would trust them with my loved ones lives in their hands; rather than sincerely worrying about the welfare of the customers and their safety, I believe they are only concerned with demonstrating their pseudo, self perceived state of authority and power. I would rate 0 stars if possible, but I guess I do need to account for the physical site itself. The location is nice and the yurts did accommodate my party nicely. The paint ball was the only satisfaction we received (after we paid an additional $45 for ammunition - after the discounts, full price was $135) and this was only accomplished because a group of customers were nice enough to supply my boys with their left over paint balls, which extended my boys playing time. I can honestly say I tipped those generous customers, but I did not tip a single worker even though they post signs throughout the site. Would not recommend to parents with the mindset of enjoying an occasion or b-day party with their children and childrens friends. Might be OK if you are paying for only yourself, or possibly a couple partaking, other than that - SAVE YOUR MONEY.

My friends and I came here about a week about on a road trip through Oregon. The only drawback from this facility was the employees. The employees were making comments about the guests and making fun of them in front of us. A guide named SPARK even had the nerve to ask my boyfriend, if my best friend and I were lesbians. She than explained it was a really weird couple because one was mean and the other was really nice. My boyfriend kindly told the guide , he was my boyfriend to her disbelief. She than watched my best friend and I like a hawk to see if we had lesbian tendencies. Im not homophobic at all thankfully. I can only imagine what homophobic guest might say when they made such assumptions about them. I dont think it should matter if a couple is gay or straight. They came to enjoy this park together not looked down upon, or judged by the employees. If this girl SPARK is going to continue to make comments about guests than i think should she be confined to making lattes in the coffee bar where she can talk about guests out of ear shot. When guides or tours are on top of those ziplines talking people down below can hear you. I dont know if the zipline employees think they are above hurting peoples feelings with their actions. They should know everyone below can hear the jokes your making at their expense. I would have enjoyed this event with my friends alot more if the employees didnt sour the day. Hopefully the manager will talk to his employees and fix the situation so no other families feels judged or humiliated by the employees.

I have been going here off and on for several years now and have always enjoyed it, however, as it has grown it almost seems to be too small of a space for everything it is trying to do. I still enjoy it, but it gets very busy on the weekends. It is an adventure park with paintball, ziplines, rock wall, disc golf, so lots of families head there on Friday to have a little outdoor time. I get that, and while it is fun, it can suck to have disc golfers wander through your fire pit area as youre relaxing at the end of the day. We spent two days in Yurt 3 - it has a pool table, and is on what I believe to be the quieter area of the campground, although it may have only seemed that way as we went in the middle of the week and left right as the weekend craziness was getting into full swing. Our kids enjoyed the activities and we also enjoyed the camping atmosphere - sitting around the campfire, BBQs, etc. My one qualm is that they do not enforce quiet hours. On my last two visits there have been groups of people drinking and staying up late. They do sell earplugs which can help, but it would still be nice if they would enforce the quiet hours the same way the enforce the leash rules, or any other rules. We generally enjoy ourselves here, and will probably go back, once we forget how irritating it was to hear someone yodeling at 2 am.
