These reviews are ridiculous. There is little help available to the homeless besides inadequate Medi-Cal, paltry CalFresh and meager General Assistance. Many do not qualify if they make almost any substantive wages. Most have no car to ferry them to the food offered by Fathers House in Vacaville, and they certainly cannot afford to regularly fuel one if they do. The average rent seems to be over $1000 a month, which is well over half the annual salary of a full time minimum wage worker. Where are they supposed to go? Loaded on a rocket and shot to the moon? Banished to a colony of lepers? All citizens and nationals are entitled to access this supposedly public park. Most of the indigent are afraid to talk to anyone who is not, they get harassed by the police for no reason, and there is an ordinance in effect in Fairfield that prohibits adults from being present on the playgrounds without accompanying children despite the fact that most child sexual predation is committed by their own family members or caretakers. A misguided and misdirected ordinance in the same vein criminalizes singing on private property that is publicly accessible. This is not a Christian town if its Crosstians seek to Christen it free of those who are forced to walk the earth as Christ did. The long extant Air Force Base should provide enough enrichment that all in Fairfield are well taken care of and given the opportunity to contribute to their society. Instead it is the main logistics and supply distribution center for our seven unending and illegal wars. And our rights are abrogated as the government spies on the global population. Your constitutional right to imbibe alcohol in this park is curtailed to those who have a permit. But by all means complain instead about people who are physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally weak. No one is around to defend them, and they make perfectly vulnerable targets. What is it, that you are afraid of how badly you would hurt them if they accosted you? Heaven forfend that any citizens of this afterthought of a town should provide even a modicum of assistance to the abjectly needy. Basically all some of them do is lightly muss up the bathrooms. Where are they supposed to micturate, defecate and shower? The YMCA in Fairfield closed long ago. How do they "get a job" if they cannot be clean? Do you wish for them to die or simply disappear? The societal response to the many hundred years of vagrancy is at such an irrational point that a sonic repellant is installed in the park, annoying the ever-loving daylights out of all present at dusk; and it likely interferes with native animal behaviour. Truly, in this park the only people who cause me consternation are the citizens with cars and homes (and jobs?) who treat the park like it is their personal backyard. This park is provided for all to enjoy, even ex-cons (oh-nooo!). Stop littering in it, stop screaming at your children in public, stop waging domestic warfare within the purview of others sight and hearing. Stop being such inhumane, grotesque narcissists. Develop some universally objective morals of which your Lord could be proud. And regarding the misconception of mental health among the Siddarthaesque, contemplate this simple inquiry: Regardless of whether you believe anyone may be personally to blame for their misfortune (an attitude that ignores the concept of Gods grace), if you lost your employment/career, children and mate, and most of your possessions including your real estate and vehicles, would you remain sane? Would you want to? What if you thought that nobody cared about you? Hoping to take some pharmaceuticals to clumsily "treat" that "disorder"? Is there one for shame and embarrassment that go unabridged, eating away at the spirit of a person day by day? Maybe it also provides a full days caloric energy, complete nutrition, mobility and shelter. Imagine what this wonderful park would be like if it received only a thousandth of the worlds resources that are allocated to any blue chip company.

My family has been going to Allen Witt twice a year for the past 4-years. We really like the location next to the freeway which makes access easy. There are plenty of table groupings for our family of gatherings of 15-30 people. They also have a playgroung and aquatic park. The bathrooms are pretty well maintained and I have never witnessed people getting overly-intoxicated and acting out. The big downsides are the groups of scary looking men who cluster at the park near the playground and in other areas. These guys are always in groups watching the families. We have also never noticed any security or police patrols going by. Although we have never been approached, we do not feel comfortable letting our children wander on the playground by themselves. So even though we typically have the tables next to the playground we still feel the need to be on the playground with the children.

In its heyday this was a lovely park. Currently it is often overrun with homeless characters not doing their best in life. They are in the process of deciding on plans to revamp the park. This park is used for youth baseball and they have a lovely swimming pool. They also have an indoor facility on the park groundsused for organized sports. We had a barbecue / birthday there last weekend and picked a great spot and really enjoyed ourselves. Only downfall was the bathrooms were closed by where we were.

I was surprised when I drove through the park after sunset last night. The city has installed new lights and a few cameras throughout the park. That might help keep the homeless and riff raff out of the park during closed hours, but it does nothing during the day. The picnic/playground areas adjacent to W. Texas Street seems to be the most homeless populated area of the park. Sorry they are homeless, but there is help available for them, especially those that claim to be Veterans....

We been playing mens over 35 baseball on Sundays Mar thru Sept. And use the picnic area for aftet game Feeds for 40-60 people. The restroom by the concession is dated. But Adult, BabeRuth, semi Pro baseball teams fro all over Northern California and our teams of the bay area with many ex MLB Pros all like the field. And since many adult players carry badges we have never had a problem in using every yr. Sonce 1986 Clyde Jones Sr Pres FF Masters Baseball Assn

This "park" is no place for children... The park is constantly inhabited by homeless people, many of whom can be seen drinking alcohol and show obvious signs of intoxication at all hours. Another issue relates to the homeless people in the park who own one or more dogs that are not cleaned up after and are presumably unvaccinated, creating a danger to both children and other dogs.

Allan Witt Park is a treasure for Fairfield and the surrounding area. Softball fields (around 4 or 5), Basketball courts (4 half courts), Tennis (around 8 courts?), Horeshoe Pit(s), Volleyball Courts, Skate Park, Picnic areas with BBQ pits and of course the beautiful new Aquatics center. I personally hit the B-Ball courts and work to keep up with the young hoopsters.
