Not a museum like youd normally think of one. While there is a large building with exhibits (historic and art exhibits), the real jewels are the historic buildings that have been picked up and moved to the museum grounds. Theres basically a little historic block. The museum regularly has free public events where re-enactors will show you how people use to use the buildings and tools to go about life. Its honestly one of Little Rocks treasures.

Not really a whole lot to see, Id recommend maritime and national guard museum instead or the MacArthur museum. However, the Historic museum does have some amazing knives and swords on display, when I visited Hands on History was closed and Ive heard thats basically half the reason to visit it. So, contact them, make sure the hands on history is open before you go there Id say.

Runaway apprentices! Take the tour! Amy was our guide and the tour was full of great history, funny stories and interesting revelations on some common phrases. Do you know where the word "toaster" comes from? Check the website to see if they will have any reinactors on site. That was a great surprise!

The historic buildings have been beautifully preserved and the interpreters make the experience great for kids. The price of admission is well worth it. The gallery is small, but nice and also worth a look since admission to it is free. The knife collection, in particular, is interesting.

Nice little place. There is 3 buildings to go thru, and a period actor that gives a little talk. Just $2.50 for an adult. Hop on the trolley passing by. $2 for an all day pass. Hear some history and ask questions. Cars go by about every 20 mins

Very informative. They had period actors who really knew their history about the place. The gift shop has a lot of really neat stuff. Their galleries were full of interesting things.

This is great for adults, but could use more for kids. It was set up very well, was very informative, and incredibly affordable. In fact, if you go on Sunday, its free.

Boring. However, we didnt get to tour the houses, so my rating is just based on the inside exhibits.
