Walden Hall is set in a quiet town within a short driving distance of historical downtown Culpeper. The beautiful grounds are off the main road set in a picturesque rolling moor complimented by a lovely fully-stocked fishing pond. The modern, but whimsical plantation-styled building has a gorgeous wrap-around porch complete with bead-board ceilings, slate-tiled flooring, and quaint sprawling vines. With plenty of seating options, the colonnade offers many alluring vistas while you enjoy the natural beauty of the grounds. The Innkeepers (Eric & Evanne) are hospitable and accommodating paying especial attention to every fine detail. All of the suites (five total), are lavishly appointed to suit the more regal tastes with contemporary refinement. The decor is modern, but simple and elegant as well as inviting and comfortable. This B&B offers more than the average lodging in amenities with a quiet Jacuzzi, salt-water pool, parlour, theatre room, gym, arcade, and bar lounge. The early evening happy-hour is convivial with the provender and libations befitting a quiet provincial atmosphere. The morning repast was delectable and piquant with a light and airy egg soufflé and homemade chicken apple sausage garnished with luscious fruit. Walden Hall is the prefect choice for a quiet get-a-way, but offers much more for those who wish to be entertained and active.

Our experience at Walden Hall was phenominal from the start. Eric was an absolutely gracious host, and made us feel like we were at home as soon as we arrived on the property. I had forgotten our bag with the laptops/ipads/chargers/etc. and he immediately brought out a laptop that I could use for the stay along with chargers for our devices. That act alone literally made our stay so much more stress free. That aside, the rest of our stay was equally wonderful. Eric is a fantastic chef, and made delicious breakfast each morning. The property itself is beautiful with expansive spaces inside and peaceful scenery outside. Rain or shine, it is literally impossible not to enjoy a stay at Walden Hall. Also, we had our infant son, and felt incredibly welcome even though we werent sure what to expect. Whether you like, playing pool, arcade games, watching movies, the property and staff leave no stone unturned when it comes to enjoying your stay. I can definitely say well be back as a family, and greatly look forward to our next stay!

I was so ecstatic I found this gem of a place on google! After searching and looking at 20+ places i finally found this oasis! Pictures looks amazing but it did not do justice until you are actually there! Service was awesomely amazing! From reservations to check out. Everyone was so friendly, attentive and very efficient. It was easy to add on massages and their concierge service was flawless. Eric was the perfect host and we truly enjoyed our conversations. His stories and life experiences are astounding... I love the common area for breakfast. The dining room is gorgeous and the front veranda was utter bliss. Our room was wonderful and clean.. much larger than any other B&B or hotel room I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t even their largest suite. What else can i rave about. ...oh the salt water pool a must to list either daytime or nighttime! Absolutely breathtaking. Will definitely be back to this place! They also own a farm brewery a few minutes away. A totally different rural experience and a different slice of heaven!

Walden Hall B&B is a fantastic getaway! This brand-new family-owned b&b is at the edge of Culpeper County and left my jaw hanging open as soon as I saw it. The house is huge and elegant with 5 available suites, each named and styled after a different poet, plus a salt water swimming pool, private pond, and extensive, beautiful grounds. The innkeepers, Eric and Evanne, pull out all the stops (or whatever other relevant cliche fits here) with their attention to detail and general awesomeness. Pros: everything above, plus: amazing breakfast, game room, gym, wine and cheese in the afternoon, super comfy beds, beautiful decor, etc! Cons: I had to leave in the morning :( This place is a hidden gem, and I hope it gets the attention it deserves!

My husband has celiac disease and has to eat gluten free. (I do not.) Looking for a place to spend our 25th wedding anniversary, we wanted a place where we could truly relax, and not have to worry about cross contamination issues. Until we went to Walden Hall, I didn’t appreciate how much that stress was always in the background of all our travel. The Inn is gorgeous and can provide 100% gluten free meals. As a gluten eater myself, I can tell you that the food is fantastic, whether or not you eat gluten. The Innkeepers referred us to restaurants and wineries that had gluten free options available and were safe for my husband. The whole experience was stress free, and so enjoyable. We can’t thank Eric and Evanne enough!

I took my fiancé to Walden Hall for valentines day. It is a higher priced bed and breakfast, so I expected a lot and it delivered. We actually cancelled our dinner reservations, went a local thai place (that they recommended) and came right back where we drank their craft beer, played darts, pool, pac man in the arcade room and even watched walking dead in the theater room. The night was really fun and was followed by an incrediable breakfast in bed. We like to experience different things as a couple, but we will probably be switching the routine and coming back to the Walden Hall because we were that pleased with it.

My husband and I stayed at Walden Hall in Culpeper while visiting friends and looking at property in the area. While we have visited Culpeper county on several occasions, this was our first time staying at Walden Hall. We could not have been happier! The inn keepers were not only outstanding hosts, they have become new friends and ones we will want to see again when we visit the area. Eric and Evanne were gracious, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. We are already looking forward to our next visit, and it most certainly will include staying at Walden Hall. We will have to spend more time in the amazing pool!

I spent a couple days at Walden this past June. While convenient to main routes and roads, when you get there you immediately feel off the grid and begin to decompress. The suites are beautiful, soothing and comfortable. The inn’s hosts Evanne and Erik are great company and cooks, and have crafted that “we’re invisible until you need us” style so important for a B&B. If you are a nature lover- Walden is a great spot to reacquaint yourself with the outdoors- it’s just beautiful.

Fabulous weekend stay at Walden Hall! Erik and Evanne are wonderful hosts. We stayed in the luxurious Walt Whitman grande suite and spent the weekend lounging in the beautiful saltwater swimming pool. The bed and linens are top of the line, and the breakfasts on the large front porch were delicious with a gorgeous view. Happy hours were fun times to visit with other guests and try some great wines. Looking forward to future stays at this fantastic resort!! Highly recommended.
