This was a very minor battle, mostly an afterthought of Bull Run, but one biggest battles in noVA during the Civil war. The park itself occupies about 15-20% of the original battlefield, but allows for a good look of the terrain. There is a 1/2 mile or so track that surrounds the park allowing for the visitor to read through nine different placards that describe the unfolding battle of Ox Hill and some of the main characters. There is a small parking area at the bottom/entrance of the park as well as three miniature pavilions with more placards.

This park is a remnant of a much larger civil war battlefield, which has been diminished in size by urban encroachment. There is a small parking lot (7 stalls), interpretive signs along a walking trail, an outdoor covered historical center where you can learn more about the Battle of Ox Hill (Battle of Chantilly) and memorial stones for each of the two Union Generals who lost their lives here.

Very small park, takes less than 30 minutes to walk the trail AND read all the markers. Bordered by two major roads the park is noisy from the traffic. Well maintained brick walkways and grounds. Only 7 parking spaces in the park. Still a pleasant place to take a break in the city.

Very small but historic park. Well maintained with vast amounts of information posted for you to brush up on what happened here. Not a quiet park. You have busy traffic on two of the four sides. If you are looking for a peaceful walk, go elsewhere.

This was a very nice historical park, including plaques and a memorial site. My kids learned a lot of local history here. There is a small parking lot, and a circular path. We spent about 45 minutes here.

This is a critical place because the nearby development caused historians to realize that battlefield areas should be perserved. There are monuments to two fallen generals here in a very small area.
