I had the worst experience at this awful excuse for a business! I will NEVER EVER go back and will make a point to encourage others to stay far away from this awful venue. What is wrong with the owner of this place? Does he/she not read all the complaints about the "security" (more like poorly raised trash)? Considering all the awful drama that has gone on all over the world lately, people should not have to worry about being harassed and physically abused by power tripping bouncers. First we were rudely interrupted and harassed about our hand stamps not being dark enough and we needed to go back to the door and have our IDs checked again (mind you everyone in our group is over 30). But fine, we took the time to do it without complaint. Then, a bouncer saw my friend pull an outside drink from her purse. He came over, yanked her by the arm and pulled her through the crowd, out the door. Of course, all the rest of our large group decided to leave too. She didnt have a weapon, it was a drink! I dont think that is any reason to put your hands on a female. Im surprised this place has not been sued or shut down. Ive never seen anything like that in my life. Ive seen bouncers ask you to throw it away and give a warning, but to put their hands on her like she was trying to start a fight or pulling out a weapon....absolutely uncalled for! If they have such an issue with outside drinks they need to make a point to ask people to throw them away or look in their purse. Im still in shock that anyone would feel like they have the right or authority to put their hands on someone, especially a (overweight sweaty disgusting) bouncer snatching up a tiny female with (OMG)....a drink!

I have to be really honest, Ive never ever written a bad review for anyone anywhere and I definitely thought about this before doing it, but Im still very mad about it. My boyfriend and I came out this past Saturday to see a band with some friends. I went in knowing that I was going to pay for the majority of the night. (My bf is awesome and usually wants to take me out, but it was my turn to take him out) as we were leaving, my bf told me his tab was 40 dollars. He had only gotten us one round of beers(two beers). I was in the industry for 14 years. Im understanding, but this wasnt right. They try and take advantage of people who are drinking. When I approached the bartender about it, he tried to convince us we were wrong because we were "drunk" we definitely werent drunk. On top of the fact he tried to say my bf was drinking makers and sprite and bought HIM shots(he doesnt drink makers and he definitely wouldnt buy some random dude shots), so the bartender had also been drinking. Id asked to see my boyfriends tab a few times and the bartender wouldnt show it to me. He finally pulled the money from his tip jar and gave it to us. So not only did he try and rip us off, his judgement was skewed due to him drinking. I wonder how many people hes actually stolen from. We wont be coming back.

Positives: Huge stage viewing area, both deep and wide. Gives you plenty of room to maneuver to find a comfortable volume level. Stage is high enough so that you can see performers well over all but the tallest people. Can easily accomodate 1,000 people or more comfortably. Sound is pretty good, but bass definition so-so due to warehouse type sound reflections. Two full bars that are adequately wait staffed. 16oz beers for $5 and top shelf liquor for $8, although drink cup size is tiny. Nice, long outdoor deck for smokers. Restrooms are clean and have attendants. Negatives: Not in the best part of town but they have a pretty big parking lot with security for $5. Security people inside seemed a little too serious with the stoneface arms folded pose. Smile guys! Very limited seating with only a few tables in the corner where you cant see the stage. Would be a perfect venue to throw up a couple of bleachers near the back of the stage viewing area for those of us who dont want to stand all night. Bottom line: Much better than Mercy Lounge, a little better than Cannery Ballrooom, not as good as 3rd and Lindsley. Saw Ziggy Marley there and it was a good party.

If anyone is thinking about going to the exit/in in Nashville for concert dont do it. Me and a friend were there for 15 minutes when my friend was dragged out by his arm for allegedly giving alcohol to a minor. We never talked to anyone but each other the entire time. He was not allowed to explain so I went and talked to security and they said that regardless they have to go with securitys word. I asked about cameras and they said they wouldnt take the time to check. They also did not attempt to talk to the minor to get the story straight before jumping to conclusions. I politely asked for my money back since I did nothing wrong and I was a paying customer. They said it didnt matter cause they were a private establishment and their are no refunds. When I attempted to leave the guy at the front made another snark comment about "we saw what we saw". I replied ok but you didnt cause it never happened and I left. A whole day wasted. Dont go to the exit/in they were rude from the get go and probably made some excuse to kick us out.

The quintessential club venue and Nashvilles rock epicenter, youd have an easier time identifying who hasnt played here in the past 45 years (yes, 45). Talking Heads, Ramones, Dr. John, B.B. King, REM, B52s, John Lee Hooker, They Might Be Giants ... back when these groups were still touring out of the backs of their vans, they played the Exit/In. Great venue for Nashville music and stand-up as well. Two-level club is typically set up for standing-room-only shows. No food. Bathrooms are vile, but youre not going to that Big Freedia show to drop a deuce, youre going to drink beer from cans and expensive mixed drinks and see a show.

This place is a great place to catch a concert with friends! There is a huge stage for the performers and there is plenty of floor space for everyone inside. This isnt the fanciest concert venue I have been to, but it really isnt that bad. The decor and the atmosphere here is very plain and bland, so I wouldnt recommend going here if thats what youre looking for. They definitely need a MUCH bigger bar considering how much floor space they have. The bar is tiny compared to the space in there, so that makes no sense. However, overall, its not a bad place to go. Id for sure come back here for a concert!

If I could give a negative review I would. My son traveled from Ky by plane to Al to meet and drive up to Exit-in for the Josh Abbott band concert. He showed a military government issued military ID and Exit-in wouldn't accept it! How wrong is that. Poor management for sure! I can't begin to voice how upsetting it is that a military ID was not accepted. I may have to check the legal ramifications of this.
