Played this course for the first time with a group of friends with varying levels of golf experience. I would disagree that this course gives players of every skill level an enjoyable experience. Everyone in our two threesomes shot almost twice their handicaps due in large part to the design of the greens and fairways. Many of the greens had two levels to them with a severe slope separating the two levels. Many of us hit these greens in regulation only to have our golf ball roll off to the other level of the green away from the hole which made for an impossible putt up and over a slope. If you were above the hole it was very challenging to keep a ball on the green. In addition, on many holes, there is not much room between the fairway and the woods. Balls that missed the fairways ended up in the woods. The three putts and lost balls lead to high scores and a slow round. To make matters even worse, a ranger told us we were on a path to a 5 hour round and that we either had to hit from the 150 yard marker or she could make us skip a hole. She told us that she told four other groups to do the same thing. Despite our slow play we were not holding anyone up. When we told the ranger that we were not holding anyone up she said that she didnt know that. If we were not holding anyone up we did not understand why we were being treated like this. After the round we did speak with someone at the course who told us that they have been having trouble with slow play and that the ranger was new. It is a pretty course that is well maintained but you better be straight off the tee and hope that others are as well.

My son (age 9) and I played the front 9 this week (6/23/09). We were the first out on the course and no one was behind us, and it was magnificent. The golf course (at least from playing the front 9) totally embraces the nature of the Poccono mountains. The course wanders through the woods, and with no houses around, each hole is its own natural sanctuary. The golf course was in pretty good shape tee to green. The greens really challenged us as they accepted good shots, but were very fast. The greens were sandy, so I assume they must have been recently aerated, but our putts rolled nicely. The variety in each hole made this a great course. It was a challenge from the "member" tees for myself, but with the most forward tees, my son was not overly challenged except on a few of the longer holes. We cant wait to get back.

This course is very well maintained, but the facilities/amenities leave much to be desired. The club house is basically a trailer home, and the bar and grill is just a pavilion that provided no shelter from any inclement weather. That said, the staff is friendly and the golf itself is a must for the Pocono Mountains.

I liked this course, very well kept nice views and the play was nice my only complaint is the staff kept telling us on the front 9 to move along. We had been told that you had 15 minutes per hole and where under that time but felt pushed. With out the feeling of being rushed the staff where very nice and accommodating.

One of the best public courses in eastern PA, staff is very friendly, the course is always in great shape, you need to be a straight ball hitter on this one. If youre not in the fairway youre ball is lost in the woods so bring extra balls but regardless its a unique course worth a play.

Really nice course up in the mountains. Each hole is absolutely separated from the next you you truly feel as though you are alone on the course. When I played it was in magnificent shape and offered a fun layout with spectacular views!!

Great course, well kept, with an exciting and very playable layout. Every bit as challenging as a tournament course. Great views and secluded holes away from houses makes this a round to remember.

Our group was continually reprimanded for pace of play for no Reason at all. We didnt have anyone behind us the entire day. The rangers made this an unpleasant day for us.
