For the price, it does not get better! This is my favorite local course and I have played them all. I take everything into consideration - IE; Downingtown CC is nice but the drawback is its not very open its not a great price and its WAY too crowded; 4.5 hour rounds. I am local, Devon, PA and although we are surrounded by golf courses, they are out of my budget. I play at Aronimink, Wyncote, Broad Run, Downingtown, Overbrook, Ingleside and Lock Narn (in that order of quality btw). Blackwood is a bit of a drive for me, but is FANTASTIC for the price. $25 to ride on a weekday afternoon. $28 most other times. Played the course 8 times in the last 2 months and here is a perfect review. Keep in mind its October 1st. Scores out of 10. 10 being Augusta, 1 being Old Masters..... ....TEES: 7.... nice, medium to large in size and level. Grass is a little sparse and long on some but all are in at least good condition. Better then most public courses. Nice eye lines from the tees. Few, if any blind tee shots. Play from the blues and the course is perfect length and grass is in better condition from back there. ....GREENS 8.5.... Fantastic for a public course! Well maintained, slightly small, but thats understandable. You will not find better greens in this area for under $30/round (with cart). ....FAIRWAYS 6.5....A bit narrow. Not in amazing condition but still good. Not always a great lie in the fairway, so I say, if you hit the fairway roll it over. There is NO crab grass in fairways. ....ROUGH 6.5.... Rough is more lush then fairways. Its cut short so you dont loose golf balls out here. Helps with pace of play. They do have crab grass, but the rough is fair and its found frequently with the narrow fairways. You will tend to get a fair lie in the rough. ....LENGTH 8.... I like the length. Its not as long as say, Wyncote, but for the money, you wont find one longer. I am sick of 325 yard par 4s and they only have 1 or 2 of these. They have a handful of par 4s over 400 so its nice not to hit wedge into every green....BUNKERS: 9.... often overlooked at public courses, they actually rake them daily! This is amazing. They are in fantastic condition and difficult. They are a little soft, but thats what makes them hard. They are extremely fair and I have yet to see a puddle or hard spot in ANY bunker - this is rare! ....CLUBHOUSE: 4....Leaves something to be desired. Its actually a beautiful clubhouse as you come up #9, but clearly they are not using it all. Small bar inside that could be useful; hot dogs and snacks. Its a little tiny pro shop - maybe this is why its $25 - and I accept! ...OVERALL... I think this course is beautiful and its my favorite course considering the price. Nice putting green too! I work at Aronimink and some of the views are actually comparable. The course is a little backwards, as #1 #10 are nothing special but still not bad at all. There are ZERO crap holes; I value this! Lots of good holes out here (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 12, 13,16) and a few GREAT holes (7, 8, 9, 11, 14, 15, 17). The grass is not that of a multi-million dollar course, but is it is good for the price. The greens, length and bunkers are amazing for the price! Its a little wide open, and fairways are slightly close together, but the course is still big. There are some mountains in the background so this adds to the beauty. The tee shot on 7 from the blues is bordering illegal because of over hanging trees, but its my favorite hole because the tee shot reminds me of #12, amen corner at Augusta. Go play Blackwood and your welcome!

Played here on 11-21-12. The course was in great shape to be fair but, the owner or cashier did not even greet me, his first question was riding or walking. Ok maybe he had a bad day. I gave him my money and got my cart. First tee had 6 players playing the same hole. No problem we drove by and started on the 2nd hole and played 17 holes. I understand times our hard so not having a starter or a ranger was ok. Then we wanted to play the hole we missed, hole 1. The owner or cashier came down with his hands in the air telling at us like we were stealing something. We told him about the people on the first tee but he did not believe us and when back to check the tee sheet, he was very rude and does not deserve my business. To the owner I would say be nice dude, I can play 10 other courses in the area. Take a lesson from Linfielf National who treat their customers like they want them back.

Its a great course for the money. Ive had several people complain over the years about how wide open it is and how easy it is etc. My answer has always been the same - Well, you still shot a 97 so it must not be that easy. Trust me - whatever you shoot anywhere else youll shoot the same here. The course record will remain intact after you leave.

Decent greens and tee boxes. Bunkers could use some work but thats nit-picking. All in all its a really good price for a great public course. Sorry I dont have pics. But the pics usually always look better than the real thing.

Hidden gem, great course for the price. Good golf should be able to score, but the course can really eat strokes. The turf is in fairly good shape with a few patchy greens. Clubhouse does have beers, and simple snacks.

The guy running the counter is a grump and seems to want to be anywhere else but there. 3 stars since the guys at the range are nice, however there are much nicer places within 20 mile radius.

The course is well maintained, but some of the greens were a little dry and brown. Nice selection of holes with varying difficulties.
