Its April 24,2010. The weather is about 46 degrees, cold and rainy ALL DAY! We went to the Milwaukee Villa Terrace to take some "fun" pictures. This was my second visit ever and all 4 of my girlfriends FIRST vist to the Villa Terrace. We were the only ones in the Terrace. We were taking pictures in the front area and were approached by a lady with dark shoulder length hair and she wanted to know why we were taking pictures. I also had my 6 year old along. She gave me the one taking the pics, pretty much the 2nd degree on "WHY" I was taking pics. It was for fun and something to do on a COLD RAINY APRIL day and very obviously NON BUSY day at the Terrace. We were paying customers into the Villa Terrace. Who cares if we were taking pictures? I didnt see anyone else in the WHOLE building. We were being watched like hawks thru the windows, very uncomfortable feeling. They pretty much told us we had to leave the building at 4:45 - I thought I read on the website that the hours were 1-5 not 1- 4:45, I must have missed that change. We went upstairs at 4:35 and they already turned the lights off and they told us to come back another day. I guess that was our "cue" to leave. On our way out, the older lady with the Blonder hair who took our entrance fee money locked the gate right behind us as we left at 4:45.....funny right next to the front gate it shows the HOURS as 1-5. It was a very unpleasant experience and wished that we would have gotten our money back. I am sure that ALL summer long people will go to the Villa Terrace just to take pictures of each other and their friends just for "fun" as we did today...........I only wonder what their experience will be and how they will be treated. Did I mention that we all came together from all over, one of us was from Janesville, Watertown, Delafield, Hartland..............perhaps next time we wont make the trip with that kind of "loving" reception. :-)

I cannot review the place from a standpoint of a perspective customer, but from the standpoint of a paying advertiser in this venue, do NOT put your hard earned advertising dollars here! For $600.00 for 1 month advertising, our logo was "photocopied" on a piece of plain white paper and set on a few tables. Also, the month, which was to be solely advertising for us, was shared between us and another advertiser. Contract for advertising was vague at best, and although we thought their intentions would be good in nature, they severely lacked follow through and did not care that they did not provide good advertising resource.

Going here is like taking a step into old Europe. The statues, architecture, garden is here for you to explore at a relaxed pace. Plus, the art exhibits are unique, interesting, and thought provoking. Last, at times they have an artist in residence teach the kids or adults an art lesson for free. Cool spot to check out.

I was here for a wedding reception and I was just blown away at the buildings architecture and design. It had all the feel of modern art meets downtown classics. A must visit, even if its just for a minute or two:)

From the standpoint of a museum theres not much to see but if youre into architecture check it out. Beautiful grounds, well worth the small admission charge.

Great local history about the owner and his family and the architect who designed it. The location on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan is spectacular.
