I was excited to discover Best Fish Milwaukee. There are numerous reasons but here are a few: (1) location, the shop is located downtown, just west of the river, no need to drive all the way to the suburbs; (2) selection, they offer a variety of fishes and invertebrates as wells as equipment and plants, (3) the quality of the fish is great, they have many beautiful specimens to choose from; (4) the store is well staffed by knowledgeable and friendly people; and finally (5) prices are reasonable. I highly recommend you visit Best Fish if you are in the aquarium hobby. Their reputation is near sterling. Ive been well pleased with the fish I have purchased from them and I have been equally pleased with the driftwood and (freshwater) sands they have available. They even keep a good stock of live foods and natural water treatments like almond leaves.

Its a shame what this store is becoming. There arent many fish stores left in Milwaukee and its depressing when places such as Best Fish are getting their fish from wholesalers such as Segrest Farms. Fish that come from Segrest Farms are highly juiced "hormoned" to make their adult coloration come out. If you are into African peacocks stay clear from this place. Hormoned fish is a scam for money. The fish will lose its amazing color after the hormones wear off and theres a very high chance all of the amazing colored fish are females. Ive been a victim before and have long stopped buying from LFS who support this. I rather pay shipping costs from a private breeder for actual peacock males than be fooled into wasting money for a scam. Best Fish, you should at least have the decency to inform buyers who has little knowledge of this. Shameful.

Best Fish is phenomenal! Great people, great selection, and the best prices you will find locally and better than many online stores. I was searching for a hard to find an aquarium plumbing piece that I couldnt find online and was pleasantly surprised to find that they had it! Then when I had a aquarium plumbing emergency on a Friday night we called and asked if they would wait for me to get there they said they would and did! When I arrived, one of the owners said that should I ever have another emergency to call and they would be glad to help. That level of customer service is not something you find every day and not something that you can get from an online store. I love to support local businesses and it wont be hard to support this one!

horrible experience!! yes they have pretty fish but they are not maintained well. I bought two salt water fish that cost me a hundred bucks. within 3 days, one had ick. The return policy is 48hrs which is not enough time. The fish infected my other fish. the ick spread quickly and within a week both fish died along with another fish I had in the tank. I been taking care of fish for 6 years and never had a store have fish with ick! im hoping the last two I had for months survive. When I called they pretty much told me too bad! this store sucks!!! I lost 200 bucks in fish and they dont care! Let one of your fish die within a week and see if you still call this place great!

Five stars simply isnt enough for Brian and Judy. Always willing to answer questions about both the live stock and the dry goods they carry. They are also the only brick and mortar store I know of that stands behind marine fish with a guarantee. They care about repeat customers, and helped me through a tank emergency over a holiday weekend by lending me equipment to keep my tank running while replacement parts were on order. Best Fish is hands down the best place around for anyone in the fresh or saltwater hobby. The reviewers complaining about rude staff must have confused Best Fish with somewhere else they visited - it couldnt possibly have been Best Fish

They just re-opened three days ago and yet the service and selection were great! The staff gave us all the time we wanted to browse and when we were ready for help they guided us through everything we needed to know, and that was a lot. We live in the area and walked there. When we left they gave us prepared water for our fish and DROVE US HOME since it wasnt too far and they felt bad wed have to carry it all. Theyve made tons of improvements with the re-open and the prices were great. In response to bad reviews: We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was open, and I can assure you you wont get better service at Aquatics Unlimited.

Probably one of the best local fish store I have been to. They have a good selection of exotic fish you will not find in a Petsmart or what not. All the fish look healthy, tanks are clean, prices are great and if they arent overly crowded or busy they always offer to help. This is how customer service should be, excellent. I always go here for my fish needs as its also the closest place to the east side, which im glad it is. The only bad thing is that they close at 6pm, wish they could open until at least 8pm for those who work late nights sometime :D

They provide great service and have a solid selection of anything you can think of. The one thing that impressed me most is when I bought some expensive lighting and when I went home I found out that I could get the same thing for much cheaper online or at another LFS. The next time I came in I mentioned it to the manager and I received a generous (not the full difference) store credit. I appreciate that so much that I will continue to shop direct through Best Fish for all my aquarium needs. Thank you Best Fish and keep up the great work!

Best saltwater local fish store in the area, always very friendly and helpful. They want to do it right with you and understand the importance of repeat customer. I commute from IL to get my reef related purchases. Equipment prices are actually on par with online so, it is better to buy from them since you can actually see the product and talk to the owners about their experiences with it and what the other reefers have said about the product. Their fish is always healthy and very reasonably priced.

This place is the absolute BEST. The owners and the staff are always so helpful, and their customer service is second to none. I drive from west bend and its totally worth the time and gas to get down there. I buy all my stuff from them now exclusively, and they offer great group buy deals to the Wisconsin Reef Society members! Their fish/coral are always healthy, and they will usually even beat internet pricing on all the aquarium stuff you need! I cannot say enough about them.

This place is amazing! It appears to be family owned and operated and let me tell you they are extremely helpful as well as nice. I was speaking with the owner about a snail that I had bought from them over a month prior that died, to see what "I" had done wrong, he not only told me, but also threw in a free snail. They really car and are certainly reasonably priced. Make sure you tell your friends and family about this place so they stay in buisness! :)
