I have been a customer for years now, but aquatics never fails to disappoint. Your fish are all terrible and die within a week of purchase and/or making other fish sick as well. If you could post negative stars I would. Got a pair of guppies that were active and healthy in appearence, put them in quarantine and the male dies in two days. The female is infected with something and may have infected a nearby tank. Now I get to take out 20 dead guppy fry from that tank, thanks aquatics! Your fish were always overpriced and your workers talk to you like youre five. I dont know why Hoffer closed down and not you. 7 bucks for the lowest grade cherry shrimp and another 7 for a tablespoon of food. When u take in a tradein, no wonder they dont tell you the price when they ring it up, ITS A RIPOFF! 4 bucks for a great shape 5 gal tank with a hood that has a light. Dont care about quality at all, you can tell because for example you bring in some male guppies. They just say male guppies, 1 dollar and dont care about the pattern or type. I want all the money back that Ive wasted over the years on your terrible products. I have never bought something at aquatics that didnt die within a few days. NEVER GO HERE! ITS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!

I have been going to this store close to 20 years. I first came here with my Mom for our fish tank, and now I go here for my own two fish tanks. The staff here are so friendly and helpful. They are knowledgeable, but if they dont know something they will tell you so, unlike other places where people just make things up or assume something without knowing it as a fact. They have a great variety of fish. I have a 40 gallon goldfish tank, and every time Im in I am so tempted to buy another goldfish because they are always getting new beautiful ones. For people saying its too expensive... well, yes. Its more expensive than a Petco or Petsmart, but it is a small business and I personally would rather spend 5 bucks more supporting them than Petco or Petsmart, who do not train their employees well and often give out terrible information to new fish owners. I had a friend go to Petsmart and was told itd be okay to keep an ANGELFISH in a 1 gallon aquarium! All in all I recommend going here over any other fish store. People who are saying employees are rude must be very overly sensitive as I have always had good experiences and as I said, have been going here nearly 20 years.

On the positive side the store is HUGE and always quite clean. Tanks are kept in great shape. Selection of both fresh and saltwater fish is the best you can find around. However, it is very difficult to get help in the store, so be prepared to wait for help from an employee. Even more importantly, the prices are astronomical. Unbelievably expensive!! Please shop around to other stores before shelling out way to much money for their fish and products. Other stores in the area can order fish or products for you and if you are willing to wait a week or so you can get the same product or fish for about half the price of Aquatics Unlimited!! So if your wallet is deep feel free to purchase what you like here but if you want to save some money try other options. Glass Aquatics on the eastside carries a good selection of saltwater fish and are able to order pretty much any fish that Aquatics Unlimited carries for a much cheaper price. In my opinion Glass Aquatics has the best prices around. The Tropical Fish Place is a new saltwater fish store that is very clean and has great fish though their selection is not very big yet.

These guys are crooks. Im an avid peacock cichlid collector and this place is a joke. The price that they tag their peacocks are unbelievable. Their quality of peacocks are the definition of trash. Just walking through I could see that these peacocks were low quality and on the verge of dying. I bought a juvenile labeled "Ngara" just to see what the quality will look like. Just from looking at the juveniles I could already tell it was going to be a hybrid and not pure, but I still bought it to see if I was wrong. I grew it out a little and it started to look like a blue dolphin cross with a peacock. I decided to re-sell the fish and the guy who helped me (wore glasses, older gentlemen) couldnt even identify what the fish was and I received $1.50 when I originally paid $20. Reality was, the same batch of "Ngara" juveniles were still at the same tank on the north wall when I first bought it. Horrible ethics.

This is a terrible, dishonest, overpriced junkyard. I could order all of the stuff in this store on Amazon with full shipping and still pay less. Just harvested my bacopa caroliniana tank, brought about 10, 12 inch tall plants, and some duckweed and guppies which were extra. They take the bacopa and spit in my face by offering 2.00 for the whole lot. All the while being completely condescending about my items. Then the guy assumes Ill accept the 2 bucks and starts ringing me up. Lol if I wanted to give it away I would have not asked for a trade in. Takes a half an hour drive to get to this trash store and I get treated like this. Sold the guppies because I didnt have space, but I kept the bacopa. If I sold online Id make 50 bucks minimum on the bacopa. Aquatics would turn their 2 dollar scam into a 70 dollar profit judging from the stores pricing they would sell each of these no less than 10.

BEST AQUATIC STORE IN MILWAUKEE! Three words: Honest, Loyal, Desire! This place isnt your normal Petsmart or Petco. All the staff, young or old, are knowledgeable about aquatic life. If you ask a question the staff member doesnt know they direct you to one of the experts that does. Not to mention, they have a selection no other store can match. The difference between them and everyone else, at home they are breeding, setting up hospital tanks, trying new techniques just like I am and are able to help me have the best results I can have. When I walk into this store the passion that I have for fish is overwhelmed by the care and well being of their aquatic animals. The service is great and their desire to ensure a better tomorrow in the aquatic community is what makes them the best. 5/5

I needed to replace a part on my Eheim filter asap as it was leaking and I couldnt turn it back on until I replaced the part. Since I couldnt wait for an internet order I had been scrambling all over to find someone who carried the parts. They had it and kept it waiting for me at the counter. The fish are a bit more pricey than what can be found here in Racine so if you want the normal or common fish, this is not the place to go, but if you want exotic or unusual this is your store. The accessories/decor were also reasonably priced and they had a way bigger selection than any of the stores in Racine. Its probably good they arent closer or Id have an empty wallet all the time!
