Visited 5/8/2016 for STRFKR concert Price - 5 Stars - $44.04 for two tickets plus 3 $ for parking - I feel pretty reasonable compared to Chicago prices. Parking at the lot was a easy in and out. I am assuming most people walked there. The beer was reasonable like 6 bucks for a tall bud light. Beer was cold. $50 for 2 t-shirts was the most expensive part but that might have been set by the band. I still got them. Size/Bathroom - 4 Stars - I believe they hold 600 people, while the front was packed I got a good spot with a good view next to the bar. The bar was not super hot which I appreciated. The bathroom was fine for a concert hall. Concert - 4 Stars - While they got off with a little sound issues after 2 songs everything was great. The lighting was really cool. Overall - I give it 5 stars because I had a great time, everything was better than I would expect. The staff was friendly. It was easy to get around and get what you needed like a beer or T shirt. No lines at the bar was nice. Parking was a breeze. I would visit again but it is a little far from where I live.

In the past four years I have had many great experiences at this venue. Ive seen so many shows here and its been a blast, however the last 2 years I have had a totally different experience. The staff has been rude enough where its been memorable every time over pretty petty stuff. The let people in over the capacity, but then cant compensate the people in there. The first interaction isnt hello its can I see your ID and look in your purse and do a pat down. You get yelled at for being in "walk ways" when there is no where else to stand, or if you put your jacket some where other than the coat check (after the coat check is already full). It creates a really uptight atmosphere than can ruin the experience. Its a huge bummer. The venue is beautiful and musicians need the support to perform and get recognized. Especially local ones. I hope that the management team can steer things in the right direction to make it a more positive experience for everyone.

I rarely go here unless there is a show I really want to see. The staff are not very happy or engaging, and dont smile. Plus they frisk you at the door even if the event is a fun movie night (Brew n View). The vibe is that they see customers as an incovenient way to make money and this is supported by the outrageously high ticket and drink prices. You cant blame them for wanting to make money and maybe their rent is high, so benefit of the doubt. But more happiness and human interaction from staff would attract and retain more customers. I was once there with an overweight friend and a staff member asked her to move because she was blocking traffic (she wasnt). Not cool.

Not my favorite place to see a show. The venue its self is beautiful but incredibly small. Large name bands that draw a decent size crowd do not make for a good time here. Staff is very strict on where you stand for anything & try to pack you into this venue like sardines. All staff i encountered was just over all rude the duration of the time i was there. Not the cleanest place & drinks are incredibly over priced. Will not be returning unless it is for a smaller band that is not as well known.

The "very good" appeal relates to their venues and events. We went to an 80s vs 90s Halloween Party which was pretty fun. The facilities are fine but nothing special. The service was pretty decent. My biggest complaint is that they charge $3 for water. I dont mind paying $5 for a beer... thats to be expected. But charging $3 for a water is nearly immoral. They should be encouraging people to drink water - both those who are drinking and those who are not. Shameful.

Like to pay $25 to get harassed by security as soon as you get in the door? This is your place! Security treats you like garbage for no reason, drinks are overpriced, water costs $3, bartenders are jerks, sounds usually marginal. I miss the Madison music scene of 10 years ago when this place wasnt even operational. Orpheum, Barrymore, High Noon are all FAR superior, but unfortunately this worthless venue seems to be getting all the shows these days...

I went to the Majestic for the first time to see the Randy and Leahy show. It was very disappointing to not be able to see the stage due to people standing along the side of the balcony. You werent allowed to stand right in front of the balcony, but it was ok to stand on the side?? Waste of time and money. We had no idea what everyone was laughing about the whole time. Oh! And they charge for water..OK! Not a good first experience.

So I went for the Rocky Horror Picture show and it was an awesome event. They bartenders where great and Velvet Darkness put on a show to remember. Only issues was that they were late with letting us in and the front said no bags but I saw others bring then in. Also they had not made clear what props we were allowed. But I will definitely be back it was an amazing place and I look forward to attending other events!

I absolutely love this place! I go to concerts quite often here in Madison, and the Majestic tops all the venues! They have a very low-key atmosphere, and the lighting and sound are wonderful. It gives you the back-in-the-day opera house feel with the twist of everyones favorite music! The experience tops everything you receive at the Kohl or Allient Energy Center. I highly recommend this venue!

I saw a beautiful projection of Napoleon by Abel Gance at the Majestic Theatre in the 1980s, as well as hundreds of other films (primarily cuz I worked the ticket booth/concession stand for a few years). The Majestic back then was the coolest place round the square (at least I thought!) - I miss the Rocky Horror fans and living in Madison! Im glad the theatre is still going strong!

Beautiful theater, new sound system sounds great. I love the building and theater, but I dislike being swindled on something that is provided for free at every venue in Madison except the Majestic, and that is water. No fountains, only automatic, warm, heavy-metal laiden bathroom tap water, or you can buy it at the bar for a jacked-up price.

Went to a Brew n View and had to leave 15 minutes in due to the sound being absolutely terrible to the point of being physically painful. It sounded like the speakers were turned above capacity or the audio source was just poor. I was really excited to see a classic (Back to the Future), but unfortunately it wasnt able to happen here.

Dont ask for water - what type of club refuses water to dehydrated dancers whove already paid cover and purchased multiple alcoholic drinks? Bottled water is the only option at majestic. Ive given them a few different opportunities to change this stupid and unsafe policy, no such luck. Matt, you really should reconsider this policy -

It okay if you go with a group. Its run down and the staff is not very pleasant. They wont give tap water for free which is illegal. If someone walks up to you in your yard and asks for some water you are required to provide some. You can walk into any restaurant ad ask for water and they have to let you have some. Period.
