We used to be regulars. They have good food and the place is well kept. Our issues come from the thuggish management, the lack of attention to customers (people talking, regularly walking in front of projector), the long delays for food (and even when we were regulars having to deal with undercooked food), and terrible movie pairings (putting an R rated kids movie w/a PG cartoon). They dont care about the customer experience and they are completely unaware of how to run a service. The management has been very rude to us in the past and the most recent workers for the past few years have been teenagers that dont know how to do their jobs. Its sad to see a once great establishment, one that I would tell all my friends about, devolve into such a brutally uncaring organization. Also, I have to write my review here because they banned me from their Facebook page for voicing my complaints in a review which is no way to treat a customer. Im writing this review to warn people that the 5 star sparkling review is heavily manufactured so be warned. Food is good but expect a long wait, movies are a risk to go to. It also smells like manure near screen 2 but I cant fault them for that its a location issue (but there are cows to pet on a plus). Just be cautious if you do decide to go thats all I want. Have a good day, thanks for reading.
Fantastic! While large corporations often try to "engineer" experiences, the Silver Lake Twin Drive In is a wonderful authentic experience. Along with its sister property, Charcoal Corral, its a vestige of Americana and a true destination. The owner is always on site and it is evident he takes great pride in ownership. They are meticulously run! Clean, staffed well, and fun. Many travel from several states away to enjoy dinner and a drive in. Come on a Saturday evening and make an evening of it with a barbecue dinner, mini golf, ice cream, and entertainment for the kids. Save room for the old fashioned concession stand at the drive-in. Thank you to the owner for the great memories my family has made here.
Not a lot of drive in theaters around anymore. This one has TWO separate screens, each showing TWO first run movies. Well maintained, clean, child friendly. Part of the Charcoal Corral restaurant, pizzeria, arcade, mini golf, and ice cream parlor. You can pay and park your vehicle at the drive in theater and then walk over to get something to eat, play miniature golf, or use the arcade games. Makes for a fun and enjoyable family or date night!
Service is amazing, they always have fun activities going on, very friendly, and amazing food and ice cream. The arcade is the best and the two screens they have for movies are awesome. They have playgrounds on both for children to play on while they wait for the movie to start and they also have a big open field for each screen too some u can watch the movie from there or I can just play around while you wait for the movie to start.
BEST PLACE EVER...2 movies for one price, GREAT FOOD, arcade, miniature golf, bounce house/slides, contests always something going on before movies start. Plus they have different food theme nights during the week and also a car show every week...great inexpensive place to take family, oh and a huge playground for the kids also ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ this place been going there for 40 years wish I could give it 10 stars cause they deserve it
I am from out of town and just happened upon this place. What a great place to see a movie. There is mini golf and an arcade. The restaurants and ice cream parlor served good food that made me very nostalgic for a different time. Every Thursday night they have a classic car show and other great events every day of the week. I highly recommend coming here, its fun for the whole family.
One of the best drive-ins in New York. Much of this is due to its proximity to the Charcoal Corral. Park in the drive-in and walk over to enjoy. They have great free wifi. First batch of popcorn was cold and stale, but by the time we got the second batch, it had markedly improved. Only suggestion, start the movie at dusk, not a half hour later.
Very nice environment. Gates open @ 630pm so you can get a good parking spot. Do mini golf @ the corral, have an ice cream, and still relax before the movie which starts @ dusk. Theres evan loudspeakers for people that want to sit on the lawn. Best part is you get to watch two movies for less than one at a theatre. Awsome
Awesome drive in theater. Great picture and sound (PA speakers throughout and can also tune in your own FM radio); we brought our dog and youre able to sit on the grass and enjoy the film and the outdoors. We got 2 movies for $8. You can also show up early to enjoy the restaurant and mini golf.
Its the perfect place to spend a day with the family. There is mini golf, and arcade, lots of different activities for different days of the week, a restaurant with great food, an ice cream parlor and you can end your day relaxing and watching movies with two screens of movies to choose from
A well set up drive in theatre. Small town friendliness... theres also a restaurant with broasted chicken, wings, burgers and ice cream. Theres a respectable sized mini golf course too! Good food, good fun, good movies!
Somebody I think
Whats not to love. Its mostly teenagers working there and they mess up a bit but we are there to have fun. Miniature gulfibg was gun and the food is good. If they had Hershey ice cream it would be even better!!
Great place for family fun. Food is good. Price for movie is great, but it can get costly when you include dinner, ice cream and mini golf to keep everyone occupied. Get there early for a good spot.
I liked it however they can be stricked about the rules like needing to have your tickets just to go into the arcade. Tickets get lost especially with kids, doesnt mean dont let them have fun!
I grew up going to Silver Lake Drive In. My husbands Uncle Gene Woodworth used to run the projector. I love the fact that this is a family oriented place and that I can take my family there.
This place is awesome. Dinner, ice cream, arcade and 2 movies. Great place for a night out with the family. The owner never seems to get tired of saying hello to everyone
Great family atmosphere. Includes miniature golf, arcade, food, ice cream parlor, drive in theatre. The list goes on and on. You need to check it out for yourself!
This place is amazing we love going here multiple times a year. The food is very good and not expensive. They also have outdoor activities for all ages.
OMG Cannot say enough good things about Charcoal Corral and Silver Lake Drive In. Love location movie options, food options and extraordinary staff
A great drive in with excellent food options. The food at the restaurants is truly high quality and worth a visit for the food alone.
Rick Anne are amazing and it is a wonderful experience for the children adults senior citizens! Pleasure to be there everytime!!
