I felt compelled to write something about Saturday nights performance of "A Christmas Carol" I tried to like this event and saw some potential. A late start and a 30 minute Act one then a fifteen minute intermission that lasted more like twenty three minutes then an act two that was about 35 minutes was more a blessing than a disappointment. The dancing, lighting and creative design were interesting however they were mostly on a par with an elementary or middle school performance. The ticket charges were way too much for a "school play" like venue. In the middle of the second act there was a woman in the audience that yelled out "Thats my baby girl, up there" . . . "thats my baby"! In my opinion Im sorry to say, it was an unexpectedly disappointing experience.

This theater is a treasure, worth a visit even if youre not going to a concert. The history is amazing, and the overall experience is enjoyable and unique. We attended the last of the Discovery Series of concerts, saw Colin Hay the singer/songwriter of the band Men at Work. He was fantastic, by the way. Be prepared, though, for no legroom at this venue. If youre tall (or big in other ways) book an aisle or box seat or even consider calling and asking for the accessible seats. Otherwise you could be very uncomfortable.

The Attucks Theater is a hidden gem if you appreciate historic sites. Ive had the privilege of attending a few jazz shows over the years. Musical acts are held in the main theater and upstairs in a venue for a club like feel. I suggest parking across the street to avoid congestion when leaving.

A very intimate and personal venue. Fabulous decor. Had a slight sound system problem. You definitely need to arrive early. Parking is very limited. But overall experience was wonderful.

Beautiful place but lost a couple of limbs to frostbite. Bring a big sweater in the summer as the AC is brutal
