Played there a month ago and the greens were in terrible shape due to disease. However the staff was hard at work trying to bring them back and I must say their hard work paid off. I played there yesterday 10/30/16 and the greens were beautiful and fast, just wish folks would fix their divots. Anyway, all I can say is that you had better be on the right side of the hole, preferably below it, or else. Way to go staff on a job well done.

Very nice course. Old farm house for a club house, didnt get a chance to see the driving range. It was is in pretty good shape and greens rolled true. Kinda long from the tips and most fairways are surrounded by woods so if youre a slicer bring plenty of balls lol. Staff is friendly, never really saw a marshall but pace of play was fine. Only gave 4 1/2 out of 5 because of the distance away from my house.

Played Sunday July 7th 2013.A must play! Greens were Awesome! Traps could use a little more sand.. But other than that I Love this course.. The Rough is thick, just like it should be, fringe is well groomed..Very challenging and fun! Staff is awesome! I could go on about how much I love this course,, but I will let you decide.. Do yourself a favor and go Play The Royal Virginian.. Quiet and beautiful!

I d like to describe it but I showed up at 4.30 on a summer Friday in June (4 hours of daylight left) and no one was there. So that doesnt seem very professional. But I played it once before and liked it.

Course was in terrible shape. Bare spots and crabgrass on the greens, sand traps were not manicured, grass was burned up on fairways. Has potential to be really nice, but needs lots of water and work!

Fantastic layout and always has great pace of play. Definitely worth the drive from Charlottesville or Richmond.

Under new management. The course still plays tough but the cost is reasonable and the people are great
