My friend and I scheduled a tee time here because it is close to town and very reasonable but the next time we look for a place to play, it wont be here. Im not sure what the problem is with some of the employees and even some patrons here but we experienced three separate rude experiences. First of all, the man in the pro-shop seemed upset at the world. I understand from others out there that apparently that is just his normal demeanor but come on, you work at a golf course! You should be very happy to do so, its not like youre flipping burgers in your golden years. Second, on the turn we noticed it was very backed up, so we stopped in the pro-shop and paid for a mediocre hot dog and paid the grumpy man behind the counter. We then went to hole #10 and as we waited an 8-some decided that since they had been following the group on the box on the front 9, they should continue to do so. They completely disregarded the fact that we were waiting to tee off. On the bright side, their game was so pathetic, we had a great comedy show to watch on the back 9. Finally, at the end of the round the "cart return" guy scolded at us for going the wrong way in a cart, as if we were 5 years old. He then attempted to justify his actions but frankly by that time it didnt matter. We were frankly disgusted by the whole experience that we didnt care what his reasons were for scolding us. The only bright spots were the Starter, an older ex-law enforcement officer who was very nice (thank you for your service, sir), the marshall who seemed very nice as well and the cart girl Ashley who was very sweet. I am not sure what the problem with some of the employees and patrons here is but it seems that perhaps they want to keep the course to themselves and not have others play here. If thats the case, you can have it. We will not be going back and will make sure to let others know not to either.

The course is a good value and is well-maintained. I booked a tee time on EZLinks and arrived without the confirmation email. I had good experiences at the Alamo City Golf Trail courses and didnt think I needed to read the email in depth. The man at the desk gave me a hard time about not having the email and made me feel stupid by pointing out the email verbiage, even though I told him I hadnt read the email. I offered to bring the email in later that day if it helped, but he declined and kept giving me an attitude. The marshal lectured us on the first green to keep all four wheels on the cart path, even though we parked two wheels off to be courteous to anyone passing by, not to be disrespectful. Im relatively new to the game and dont claim to know everything, but the service I received makes me want to pay a little more and drive a little further to play an ACGT course to avoid being treated like an idiot.

13th green is closed. There is a temp green on the right side in front of the green. The rain has helped the fairways immensely but they need to be regularly mowed. Members dont play out of the bunkers without sand. The greens are inconsistent at best ( the coarser the green the slower the ball rolls, when on the green give yourself an automatic 2 putt) Several tee boxes need to be mowed & watered. You cant beat the price & its a great course for practicing. Stay out of the rough as you may not find your ball. If you cant find your ball, take a drop without a penalty(members rule) They are working to improve conditions but will take time.

OK I would have given it a zero but they didnt offer that low a review. No greens, lost sometime ago in the last year because their greens keeper has no idea of how to manage the greens or the fairways for that matter. Fairways are tight lies of sparse Bermuda grass with weeds and dirt patches. I paid $25 to play 18 holes with a cart but that was about $25 too much to play on such a goat track. They really ought to plow it under, reseed and hire a new course manager/greens keeper. Other wise the pro and some of the staff were pleasant.

Went out after work to try and squeeze in as many holes as possible. Gentleman told me have the cart back by 8:00pm. There was hardly anyone on the course and I had a pretty good pace going and definitely was going to get 18 in by deadline. Im on 16 green and the cart guy takes the flag from 17. This is at 7:40, which is 20 min before I was to be done. Unbelievable. Despite all the rain we have had, the greens were terrible and the fairways were full of weeds. Not worth the $20 I paid.

Dont wast your money. Take your $30 and go get a tee time on Golf Now for any other course here in San Antonio that will have actual greens. It is April and the greens are all dead, and half the fairways are dead as well. The Marshall is a complete jackass and will let you know you are playing over a 2 hour pace even though the whole course is backed up. Seriously, take your $30 and go play Northern Hills a nicer, friendlier course right up the road.

Clubhouse looks like it hasnt been maintained in 10 years. Greens were horrible (fairway grass mowed short) sand traps have weeds growing in them. Greens scraped by mower that was leaking oil. No watering. Cart paths were broken and almost unnavigatable. On top of that you have to wear ashort with a colar (which would be acceptable of the course fairways greens and clubhouse were maintained. No grill. Only gas station hotdogs were available.

The conditions of this course are unacceptable. The weather has been fantastic & the greens have to be in the worse condition of any in Central Texas. The staff is standoffish & borderline rude. Theyre the #1 indicator that ownership does not care about the golfers at all. The driving range is too short for drivers. No club cleaners available on the course. Would rather play Windcrest or drive all the way to Olmos. Pathetic.

I called ahead to check the rates. I asked about the price for kids to play, they said kids played free, just pay the cart fee. When I arrived there Sunday morning, they charged me full price for my 10 y/o daughter. I paid since we were there and knew there would be nothing else available. The pace of play also left a lot to be desired ,I will not go back!

This course is a goat track. Their bunkers are filled with dirt instead of sand. The fairways are patchy with mostly weeds and dead spots. The greens are patches of sand with a few blades of grass. When you putt, the ball will bounce like theyve just been aerated even though they havent. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

Had a great saturday afternoon. Staff is so friendly, pleasant and accommodating.... however the owner needs to put more into the course and the club. The greens are rough and the fairways are ok. With a little love. Attention, and money the course could be great!!! We had a wonderful day out regaurdless.
