A Mixed Bag... This is our second time out and returned on a Groupon. The course needs some work with uprooted stumps and firewood needing removed on #1. Several places where the flow of play puts the leading group face to face with the following party or cart paths that return across the hole just played. Several tee boxes had no level ground in the teeing zone, like teeing off a hogs back. Greens were being over seeded so there was no consistency in putting speed, and when combined with all the deer poop made putting like goofy golf. Fortunately, most water hazards are victims of the drought, making them just tall grass with some wet spots. We live nearby, but wont likely go out of our way to return soon.

I loved this course. I read all the reviews here before I went to play it. I am glad I decided to go anyway. It is a nice layout and yes there were a couple of greens that maybe need a little more attention, overall it was in good shape. I think the other reviewers have to remember this is summer in Texas and public course. You cant expect Augusta type conditions and you shouldnt. I highly recommend this as go to course for a quick round of golf. If you are with an hour or so drive of this course you should play it. Also, enjoyed a great burger and fries at the 19th hole.

Although the club has gone under new ownership it is still less than up to par. The greens have improved tremendously. The food is good but the management is horrible. Everything is very unorganized and unprofessional. The service is hit or miss and Im sure if audited the restaurant would not pass health code. I blame it on whoever is running the the club because for such a beautiful place it should not have so many problems. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone

Played the course on a Saturday for $10.00 (fair price) Staff was pleasant enough however, the course has made a decision a long time ago to not invest into the up keep of the fairways, tee boxes and bunkers. Greens are in decent shape compared to the rest of the course. Pros: no waiting to play Cons: Good golf shots still means a bad lie, there is no grass on the fairways and they are indistinguishable from the rough.

This course is in terrible shape and they shouldnt be charging the fee that they are for this course. Fairways hardly have grass and it was hard to tell the difference between rough and fairways. Tee boxes were so hard you could hardly get your tee into the ground. I would not recommend this course at this time. They need to make a lot of approvements. It could be a fun course if they get it fixed up.

Wanted to golf at 330 on a Thursday. When I first walked in girl behind the counter looked at the clock. Then guy walks up to help me and he looks at the clock a couple times. I asked if there was something wrong because he kept looking at the clock and his attitude. $32.50 for two people and then he wanted $18 for my 13 yr old daughter to have her cart. I dont mind her fee but $18

What a joke! Take a hammer with you to get your tee in the ground. You cant use winter rules anywhere because there are so many weeds in the "fairwsys" and on the greens, there is nowhere to move your ball. The sand traps look like overgrown sandboxes. Basically the golf is free and you pay for the cart, but it definitely is not worth the cost of gas to go out there.

For a "country" course, this isnt bad. Pretty challenging for the length course - 6500+/- yds.. Lots of dog legs, water, traps, hills, some blind shots. - lots of fun. A few greens are a little rough, but mostly good grass. Nice club house with bar and restaurant. Pretty good food a low prices too. Some holes have lake views. Dont miss it. $20 during the week!

Havent even finished the front 9 and Im considering going to another course. Looks the grass hasnt been watered in years, greens are in absolute terrible condition, the fairway(if you can call it that) is more like a rough and consists of weeds, dirt and rock. Least favorite golf course Ive ever been to.

I would say this course is pretty nice for $16 (check the green fee specials). Full price ($32) not so much. They seem to have major water leaks. The greens are so so. The signage is confusing. But we enjoyed ourselves.

It had been decades since I last visited the Golf Club. The place shows its age a bit, but all in all not much has changed. A great place to get a round of golf and enjoy a view of Canyon Lake.

Enjoyed this course because of the layout...so many doglegs...just enough narrow fairways....it was fun....and inexpensive.... We played it two days in a row...plus lots of deer.

Could be a pretty nice course if they bought a lawn mower. Fairways are just a rumor. Grass growing in bunkers. The only reason it gets 3 stars is the surprisingly good greens.

Fun course but Im pretty sure their grounds keeper is Helen Keller and even if your shot is straight down the fairway its still in the rough.
