Giving a one star rating because this course is usually great, but had a terrible experience. I volunteered at the Valero Texas Open and played my free round on Saturday. I also brought my dad for his Fathers Day gift. The Oaks course was in HORRIBLE shape. Greens punctured and sanded, fairways were completely blasted with sand as well. There was no grass without piles of sand on it besides the rough. If you hit a fairway shot, you were penalized. If you hit the green you were penalized. Now I know that this is normal golf course maintenance, but when you know folks put in 18 hours of volunteer work for the tournament, can you at least let us know before we come out to cash in the free round or spend $100+ bringing your dad out? Not the way you should treat your volunteers. Terrible experience on the course this weekend. Pretty unfortunate. Make sure and ask about the condition of the course or you might get robbed.

Was a volunteer for 2017 Valero championship and work 30+ hours in exchange for 2 rounds of golf. Set up a round with 3 other volunteers for June 23rd. We were told we would be playing the Oaks course. As it turned out, the Oaks course had been aerated both fairways and greens. As such it was Cart path only. The fairways were it terrible condition as a result and the greens were equally bad with a matrix of aeration dents and sand throughout. In general was about the worst condition golf course I ever played. I understand that this work needs to be done, but the course personnel could have mentioned this when we requested a tee time for us to decide to play later in the year when the course was in better condition. We spent our time helping run the Valero tournament and get one shot to play what normally is an incredible golf course. This year that time was wasted.

Played the Canyon course today and it is very nice. Greens are seriously elevated (Pete Dye design) and fast....big fairways that are in prime shape. If you hit it in the rough you may want to forget about looking for it because the rough is definately rough. Lots of beautiful elevation changes on the Canyon course (similar to Canyon Springs and Buckhorn). This is not the course they will play the Texas Open..that is the Oaks. My only problem with this course is that it definately was not what I thought a "TPC" course would be. I was looking for more water, signature features, signature hole, some sort of iconic PGA feature that most TPCs are know for (Sawgrass, Doral, Louisiana) or course feature that stood up and said "this is TPC San Antonio." All in all the Canyon is a good course, but not what I expected of a TPC.

Me and my wife were new to golf so we wanted to check out the course while we are staying at the nearby resort. Once we stepped foot outside near the golf course one of the managers from the golf course said we couldnt be out there because we were not wearing "golf attire" and we probably dont even have a pass to be there. Total deterred us from wanting to play a game of golf or hit a the driving range.

this is a great resort. Not only does it have two great golf courses and a superb hotel, but all the staff I encountered here was absolutely wonderful. I only stayed a week and they all made me feel like family. If you like golf this is a must visit. If you dont like golf thats ok too as they have their own mini water-park and tons of other things to do. Every room has a breath taking view as well.

Great Course..Felt like a Pro! I played the Oaks last week for the first time and it was awesome. I cant believe how beautiful theyve kept this course despite the drought weve had here for the past few months. Greens are fast but you get a true roll, no hops or unrepaired divots. Id go back every weekend...if I could afford it

Patti Rutherford and the team at the Golf Club are awesome. Weve hosted our Chamber golf tourney there the past few years and they make everything so stress free. Everyone is nice and everything is well organized. Its so nice as a volunteer to just show up and golf!

The PGA event was well run with a lot to do. Great atmosphere and professionally done. I really had a fun time while watching golf. I would recommend attending a PGA it is much more entertaining then on TV.

We played the Canon course. The course is in fantastic shape. Challenging, lots of bunkers and off the fairway gets deep fast. We greatly appreciate TPCs military rate.
