First of all when first walked up the bouncer didnt greet us just said get your IDs out there was four of us and my friend Danielle made a joke about a fake id and he said after saying that I shouldnt even let u in ! shes 32 by the way then I had a coupon for buy one admission and second is free he said it was good before 11pm it was 11:30 on a Thursday night so I paid the $7 each then we get in and its dead inside. Then I order a patron double on the rocks and get charges $14.98 plus tip $3 so we werent feeling the vib so we all left after 15 minutes so it cost me $14.98 + $3 + $7 = $24.98 for one drink plus my ÜBER then we went across the street to a cool little local bar and Paid no cover and drank for half the money. Wont be back and get a new door guy

Active duty newlyweds from Baltimore. We sent our bridal party ahead to wait in line. They waited 40 mins and were told to step aside and it wouldnt be a problem to let them all in once we arrived. When the groom and I showed up they told the entire bridal party and us to wait in line all over again. No way. Obviously not wedding or military friendly. Bouncer kept looking at the line and was visually worried people would complain. Were from Baltimore. I assure you the good people of San Antonio arent going to riot over newlyweds being let in. Maybe in Blatimore like were used to but we expected better from the San Antonio location.

This isnt my favorite place to go downtown, most likely because I am a native, and Howl and the Moon attracts a lot of tourists, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and loud crowds. The piano players are incredibly good at what they do; their broad repertoire rarely fails to amaze me, and the crowd is very engaged. I just dont like going here because there is a $10 cover, and it is usually tough to find a seat. I would recommend this place if you are visiting Downtown SA and want a rambunctious night out with a bluesy/Texas dive bar vibe. Great location for bar hopping, though. Right on the Riverwalk.

$5 cover charge to get in, the guy at the front wasnt that friendly just said IDs and $5 each. The people on the pianos didnt play any of the songs we requested even when we kept throwing a tip ontop of the request form you fill out and lay on the piano. This was a Monday night btw. The drinks are pricey. Not a single wait staff talked to us the whole night unless you went to get a drink yourself from the bar and the blonde haired lady just acted all agitated with you. The really good thing about this place is the bathrooms. Very clean and big. A con is the huge stairwell you have to walk down.

We didnt have a cover charge going in as it was fairly early in the evening. The ambience was ok and since there were only 11 of us on the bar, the servers were attentive. Liquor: I had a few margaritas. They were watered down. Even after a few, I felt nothing. Music: dueling pianos were cool. The female had a terrific voice. My biggest complaint is they didnt play what we requested. They started playing a ton of 70s songs that none of us knew and though we kept requesting other songs that was to no avail. I ended up leaving an hour into being there as I was totally bored.

Went to this place just a second ago looking for somewhere to get a drink. It is my husband and my anniversary weekend....since it was late and our 1st time going the guy at the front was really nice(but drunk) and let us in free....well once inside there are alot of music n noisey people everywhere....well they looked at us as if we were in the wrong place(probly was because we were the only black people there).....once at the bar we were looked over several times and then the bar tender was dancing but not serving us.....this club is discriminatory and we will never go back....

Took my better half here last night. Staff was impressive. Articulate, helpful and always on top of the service! Entertainment was stellar! These artists play and sing anything! And they do it as well as the people you pays hundreds to see through binoculars! The woman with the shorter hair that sang Lady Gagas "Edge of Glory" should be headlining stadiums! And her counterpart that opened with her both musically precious and comedy Gold! Awesome showmanship! Well worth the time and money! Thanks ladies!

Lady with long, dark hair that puts a stamp on your wrist was so rude. She yelled at me because I didnt hear her and walked by her after paying without getting my stamp. When she stamped my wrist, she literally slammed the stamp on me. She ruined my entire night. Also, $10 is not worth this place. The Houston howl at the moon is free cover, so I expected at least a good time for $10 and a $32 bucket. They couldnt even clean our table. Was dirty since we sat down. Never coming back again.

I have been to Howl at the Moon a ton of times but it feels like they have let their success get to their head. They charge $10/ person to listen to cover songs. Dualing pianos is an over statement. Just listen to songs that any cover band can play. No comedy, over crowded, not entertaining. Sad, they have talented musicians but it is just karaoke. You can get a better experience at a thousand places without paying cover, overpriced drinks, and bad service. Stay clear of this place.

I wish I could take a video to prove this but I feel like they were playing terribly in purpose. Maybe there was an argument of some sort between management and performers but the pianos were played off key every song. This was only proven more so when i noticed the keyboards were electric. Enjoy this bar at your own risk, Im sure they clean up their act come Friday and Saturday but the rest of the week leaves something to be desired. Your money is best spent elsewhere.

The person who decided to turn this place into a dance club should be fired! If you go for the first time you will have fun, no doubt. However, if you went back before they removed the tables and made a dance floor dont expect the same experience, it is night and day. MUCH less crowd involvement and more hip hop, pop, and dance music. The crowd involvement was what set it apart from the other eleventy billion dance clubs on the riverwalk.

Easy 4 star Review the atmosphere is live I like that theres a good variety of people different personalities everywhere The drinks to me were okay not the best was very short on flavor I seen alot premade mixes...Also the way that they have the tables set up youre not able to mingle walk around get to meet new people its like standing on the outside looking in...The live music goes a long way i enjoyed it, San Antonio Gots Talent!!!

Ive been to San Antonio a few times and always manage to find my way here to drink and to sing along with the performers. I dont know what happened since I was last here but its nowhere near as great as it used to be. It seems like theyre trying to make it more hip by playing songs that dont really have any business being played on a piano. I miss the old howl at the moon. I dont think Ill be coming back again unfortunately.
