I liked dancing and having fun here. What I didnt like was that I felt really ignored and almost discriminated by a bartender. Im not gay and was ordering a drink for my husband and I and tried getting his attention several times, he just looked at me and then went on to serve other people that came in after me. I couldnt believe how he was being so nice to everyone else but a total douche to me. It was already 1:55 and I knew he was not going to serve me, I tried smiling, asking super politely..nothing. After a while when no one was ordering he said "what?" And took my order. When my husband paid him the exact amount he gave it to him kind of folded in half , the bartender got PISSED. He yelled for everyone to hear: dont f&$+ing fold your Fuing money!" While he straightened the dollars very vigorously and threw them in the register. What the hell???? Oh and he was giving a lot of limes to everyone, like more than needed. We ordered 2 tequila shots and got no limes , and as I was about to ask for some he looked at me straight in the eye and said "no more limes", while the bucket beside him was full with them. Seriously??? What did I do to him to be treated that way? I will definitely come back here to dance but I will make sure to stay away from his bar.

I will first note that the building itself is pretty neat looking and has many rooms. The person at the front was also very nice. Despite this, there are quite a few reasons that my party actually left the club soon after arriving. First off, while seemingly a gay club, the amount of straight couples at this club was overwhelming. This isnt a big issue, just an observation. Secondly, there were at least 3 cops roaming the halls and disrupting some people from dancing (although their dance did not look inappropriate). Thirdly, according to two of the people in my party, the drinks were terrible. Fourth, there is an upstairs which did not seem to be air conditioned at all when we went up there. It was very hot and uncomfortable and I could not imagine dancing in those conditions. If youre a gay person looking to have fun at a club, I do not recommend this one. Edit: I forgot to add that the music was pretty much the same in every room with no variety.

Visited Saturday 12/28/13. A 15 year New Yorker, I grew up in San Antonio and remember the Bonham as a laid back, welcoming club with great music for dancing, not for posing and looking good. The welcoming, laid back part is still true but I was very disappointed with the music. All three rooms felt like mostly rap/hip-hop. Why have 3 rooms if youre not going to vary the music. When the DJ would mix in good music, he would play maybe 20 seconds of it, then switch to 20 seconds of another song. Yes, your mixing skills are impressive, and very welcome when switching songs. But how about you play the whole song? I dont think its just that Im old (44). When I was in the front room, where the dance floor is smallest but the music is best, when 80s music came on, everyone got on the floor, including girls who had to be in their 20s. Great venue, cover and drink prices. Too bad about the music.

Always fun, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. During the week only the down stairs bar is open. The old guy taking the money on the weekend though, seems to have a bit of an attitude. The door person outside of the club checking IDs told me to show the guy inside, taking the money, my Texas Drivers Licence showing Im a veteran. On Fridays there is no cover for veterans and military. I did as was told and the guy still charged full price. He says, " I cant see that, besides thats not a military ID." My thinking was, Im just doing what your door person told me to do?! And its not like someone can forge their Texas License to say youre a veteran. I ended up showing him my military ID and he gave me cash back. The whole thing though was just real aggravating, and not a very good first impression. Besides the grumpy guy, it was a blast. Karaoke on Wed is nice and relaxed as well!

Male dancers are usually well kept and pretty muscular. Occasionally they have special guest male porn star dancers such as Mark Dalton make an appearance which attracts a great huge crowd. Multiple floors, bars, dance floor! There is usually a cover to get in. There is no dress code however would recommend "Dress to Impress". Crowd is a mixture of all age groups, male, female, bi, gay, lesbian, straight. There can be a line to get in but its definitely worth the wait! Drinks are reasonably priced although can get expensive depending on time and day of week. Place is big enough for large groups. If youre lucky you can find street parking about a block away, otherwise if there isnt any street parking there are a few parking places where you can park for a fee.

I have fun every time. Chachi, the front adorable bartender makes you feel welcome as hell and hes speedy! Also, surprisingly, as busy as the place is they really keep up with keeping those bathrooms clean and stocked. The music is top 40 and NEVER CHANGES. Same songs every single time. Every room is the same kind of music. For a "gay" club there isnt much fun music like 80s or techno. Just the same thumping "jump" music. One Calvin Harris Feat after another. Also for a gay bar I like to play a game called "Spot A Gay Person". I usually average about 4. NO LIE. Mostly a lot of Middle Eastern dudes trying to grind up on any female in sight. Go with a posse. Drink before you go because the drinks are only strong if you order it that way. No Dress Code.

Good bar... ok location... great drinks at good prices... and good dance music... downfall: lots of underage individuals (they allow 18 and up in)... lots of young miltary (mostly tech school kids). Overall pretty young crowd. Back to positives: Great bar staff on all levels. Look and feel of bar is clean and different (in a good way). Very large dance floor. Lots of decent dancers even if u just like to people watch. No dress code so u have everything from cocktail dresses to jeans and tshirts. I personally like dress codes b/c it usually attracts a little more mature crowds... but even with underage it turned out decent. It was pretty cold early, but warmed up as the bar filled up.

The first bartender near the coat check in didnt have what I originally wanted to order a bloody mary. He said they dont make those drinks there. My sister tried to order a tequila shot. He said they were out of that too. So we tried again definitely not the best but it was $12 for 2 shots. We head over to the dance floor and since the music wasnt very good after hanging out for a while we decide the try a second shot. This time we head over to the bartender near the dance floor. Same two shots cost $4 this time. The 1st bartender is ripping people off or the 2nd one is ripping off the owners. Either way inconsistent prices is bad for business.
