Wasted a big part of the day and $14. Wanted to take the guided hike, emailed and try to pre purchase tickets and was told that wasnt offered. Its pretty much in middle of nowhere so didnt want to drive out just to be declined. Was told to arrive 45-60 mins early so it didnt book up. Well, got there almost 90 mins early just to be safe. Sure enough, sold out. If I had driven 15 mins, I wouldnt care.. but I invested better part of a day for nothing. So we were offered the "uplands" self guided hike for $7/each. Did it to not totally waste the day, boy was I wrong. 20 min walk through a field with a path mowed in it. What a waste of a day. The guided hike might be nice but if youre going to only have a couple hikes with a small people limit, allow some type of reservation system so people dont drive out for nothing.

This place could be nice, but the service and how they operate was a huge disappointment. We had a Groupon and tried several time to call to make a reservation with no answer. Once we got to the park it is first come on the guided tour, even getting there an hour before all tours for the day were full. Since we do not live near by we were unable to use our Groupon. We paid the the self guided tour which was mostly a joke in a field. We did get a few nice pictures.

The Cave itself is beutiful and definately a sight to see. The only thing we did not like was the fact that they only do tours every 2 hrs and the hike down only takes 15-20min one way so for the wait to be so long is a negative. Our tour guide was great she explained everything as we walked along. Im glad we got to make it on one of the tours, although we had to wait 3 hrs. Dont think we would go back just because of the wait time.

We started this year off with our First Day Hike here at Westcave. We arrived around 9:15 for the 10 oclock tour. The gates opened promptly at 9:30. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The scenery was breathtaking. We hiked the guided tour to the grotto and cave and back. We packed a lunch and had a picnic under the trees at the tables. Then walked the upland trails. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous place and I understand why they only have guided tours but we were hoping to enjoy the water and the park in our own time rather than having to go through a 2 hour tour. Its still gorgeous and fun to see but know that you wont be left in peace to enjoy nature. Youll be in a group with 12+ people learning facts about West Cave Preserve.

I visited here for Memorial Day weekend, and enjoyed it. Like others have said, you have to get there early to ensure that youd like to get in on the guided group tour. The uplands self-guided tour wasnt much to see, but it killed time while we waited for the guided tour. The waterfall and the cave were both very beautiful sites to see.

The weekend guided tours here are a great getaway from the city. Not many people know about this secluded location which is a shame. It is very unlike anything else in the surrounding Austin area. Reminds me of a mini Gorman falls actually.

What a great tour to see nature and the waterfall/cave. We even saw an armadillo. Make sure to try to get there at least 30 mins early because the tour fills up on the weekends.

This place is just down the road from Hamilton Pool. It is gorgeous! Only drawback is that you can only get down to the cave with a tour guide and you cant just hangout there.

Amazing gem in Central Texas. Can be tough to find, but worth the journey. Guided tours only. Worth every bit of effort and money. Must see!

Beautiful tour. Cant go to the park otherwise. Steps can be challenging but worth it. Waterfalls and caves are beautiful.
