Super nice natural swimming area. Its not too far from downtown Austin we drove in from Houston on a Tuesday. We scheduled for the morning time slot which is 9-1 pm. Got there on time 8:55 am we were one of the first ones found parking right away since it was a weekday and it was not full , they do charge 11$ for the online reservation and 15$ cash for parking. Theres a twenty minute walk to get there and it is very rocky I did the mistake of taking a small cooler and had to carry it all the way there , I recommend taking a back pack with water in it . Also there is bathrooms at the entrance by the parking and midway on the trail before getting to the water hole. That day they did allow swimming the water was nice and cold super fun with the kids ,at edge is not that deep so kids can swim there. Definitely will be going back.

This place was seriously the most breathtakingly amazing park that Ive ever been to. The water is the most beautiful color turquoise, its deep, so you can dive off of this awesome rock. Theres a waterfall, a little school of friendly fish swimming around, and it was just seriously so amazing. It was like being in some tropical paradise, in the middle of Texas. So surreal. You have to make reservations, but it is so worth it. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We got to go on a day where there was swimming, and it was seriously so amazing. I will definitely be planning a trip back asap. This place was wonderful, WOW!!!

We went on Sat morning at the end of spring break. By the time we arrived, it was around 10:05am and we were the last vehicle they let in before closing the gate temporarily. It was an hour-long wait and rangers some vehicles in afterwards. It is recommended to come before 9:30am to avoid long wait or an unfortunate U-turn. No pets, limited parking spots, $15 entrance fee in cash, no swimming in the pool, no drinking water in the Pool. Make sure you are prepared for all these! Nevertheless, the scene was worth the wait :)

hamilton pool i have bunch of regards. Alot of people are saying now that it is very tiny and not alot of people can go . And also when did you guys ever start making people have reservations my family drove about a hour to get there once we got there we had to turn around and go back because we didnt have a reservation. Maybe next time please say it worldwide and dont just post it on your website because some people probably dont have internet or something and they wont be able to see that you have to make a reservation.

If you know youre going to be in the Austin area during the summer this place is well worth a visit. Come to swim in the pool, but make sure to take the .6 mile hike to the river as well. Its well worth the reservation and parking fee. The ability to make a summer reservation typically starts in April, so make sure you get on early. It was booked solid for 5 weeks when we were there at the beginning of July.

beautiful, however staff only offer services to elderly after they make a steep descent to the spring, while theres a paved road to the spring that would be more practical for old people. They have a problem with marlins roosting in the ceiling of the cave, the fecal matter left by the birds caused the spring to be murky in areas, this inadequate control of wildlife was disappointing.

Beautiful pool and trail. The trail is rough and steep in areas but worth it. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Bring cash to park and arrive early. After the parking lot is full you have to wait for a car to leave so another can enter. Makes sure you have plenty of water with you. It is a nature preserve so you dont get to explore much but beautiful scenery as we hiked the trail.

Absolutely beautiful. One of the most beautiful and easily accessible natural formations. The walk in is only about a quarter mile but parts are bit steep or slippery for some. The trail is very well maintained and you could easily bring small children here. Swimming was prohibited on the day we visited due to high bacteria counts. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.

Place is amazing water was perfect. And no one really tells you that you have to walk / hike up and down hill to get to this place. Its worth it. Went around 11am on a Thursday made reservations online. About $5 A person and $15 to park cash only. Felt like a small get away for a few hours to just have a small picnic and relaxation time.

5 stars - the big surprise here was how enjoyable the walk TO the main attraction was enjoyed by my small group. Anne was so helpful. Shed been going to the pool for 40 years and saw it in its best glory. Shes seen it go through private ownership to county maintained. And from desimated plant growth to the beauty we saw today.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Its a 1/4 mile hike but so worth it. Bring chairs and towels. You can usually swim there if the bacteria levels and low. It does cost $15 to go down there but just look at the pictures and they dont even do it justice. Check the website on the day you go as they may not be allowing swimming.

Only 4 stars because I couldnt swim because of bacteria levels. I understand the necessity, I just love swimming. Gorgeous place, easily accessible.. A little bit of a rip off with the reservation and parking fee. $40 to see nature is a bit insane, especially when most national parks are $30/vehicle

just YES! Best watering hole (literally) that I have been to in a long while. You need a permit to get in (up to 8 people for $26) so load your car up and drive on out. Few enough people in the water that you arent bumping elbows like in a municipal swimming pool and you really are out in nature.

It rained 3 days prior to this visit. Theyre approximately 10 people when we were there. Didnt get to swim due to high bacteria count in the water. Its a beautiful place. A must to visit if youre in the area. We also hiked to Pedernales River. A short hike from Hamilton Pool.

Please carry cash when you arrive. They charge $15 for park maintenance in addition to your reservation fee. We had to make a trip to the nearest gas station which is 5 miles away to get some cash. The trails are good, but the water had high levels of bacteria.

This place is awesome. We couldnt swim on the hole, nore that we wanted as the bacteria was very high and the water was a bright green color :) There is a short but nice trail to colorado river. And the walk from the parking lot to the pool is just 15min
