A great troop of actors and actresses! I have laughed & I have cried. They really know how to elicit my emotions. They seem to care about presenting the character accurately and freely, while at the same time reflecting their own personality. Everyone is so sincere, especially in meeting with them after the performance. I really enjoy hearing their responses when I ask hard questions about why or how they "took on" the personality of their character. The Core Theatre has a reputation as clean fun amid slapstick comedy. More so, they can present serious life situations with convictions and determination. Core is a refreshing step outside reality, into the shadows and sunshine, prevalent in the world. My wife and I attend as often as we can. Oh, their bloopers, given at the end of the performance, are hilarious to me. Often what they saw or thought was a blooper, I thought was just part of the show. Seems to me as a great way for everyone to break out of the play. While not perfect in every way or in every scene, I can feel the enthusiasm oozing from all over them! Well worth going to see.

A friend of mine told me that Fire at The Coconut Grove was a "must see". So, I took my two children (boy 14 and girl 11). My little girl was thrilled about seeing a live play with her Dad....but I had to drag my son....he begged me several times not to make him go. I glanced out of the corner of my eye at the kids throughout the performance....both were riveted to the action. When I asked my son after the play was over if he would be interested in going to another live performance...he said "I would like to see this show again". Wow! That says it all. From my perspective....the play was an absolute thrill on all levels. I would give it an 11 on a 10 point scale! Im not a theatre "regular"....but after my experience with this theatre (its cast, layout, seating) I have changed my perception of a fun night out. Great job Core Theatre!! Thanks for creating a welcoming place for my family!!

I have been to some of the Core Theatre performances in Richardson on Arapaho and have been very impressed with the performances. The plays written by James Prince and performed by wonderful actors have always been informative. and entertaining. We look forward to seeing more of his plays. His plays are wonderfully written and entertaining. The dedication James shared as a director and as a writer is inspiring. You are being entertained while you are learning about history and gaining a better knowledge of historical events. My friends and I were happy to have been able to see the presentation of "FIre at the Coconut Grove" that depicts events from 1942. It was a real life disaster story .By seeing James play I feel I came away with a better understanding of what happened and why it happened. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more of your plays.

My family & I have attended various plays at the Core Theatre. We have also had our daughters take dance lessons as well. James & Annette Prince do a fantastic job of creating a showcase for the arts. The plays take you through various emotions depending on the story being told. A couple of my favorites were Fire at the CocaoNut Grove, and One Night to Remember. The Cocaonut Grove was dramatic retelling of a tragic historic event that brought about a change in fire codes and laws. The story was well written and well acted. Marvelous job! A Night To Remember was a funny, romantic love story. It even had outtakes done by the acting team on the particular night that I took my daughter. Well Done! It is a great place to take family or a date and enjoy great story telling through live acting!

The core theatre puts on some of the most artistic plays Ive seen. James Prince who runs the theatre and is the artistic director knows how to pick the right stories and cast them well. The productions truly come to life and touch the audience at their emotional core. Its awesome to see great community theatre like this flourishing and telling great stories. Ive notice that The Core Theatre tries to stick to original plays and productions which encourages the local writing community to get involved and keeps theatre thriving. If you are looking for a place to go with your date, or are just looking to get out for the night and enjoy some good quality local entertainment I would highly encourage you to check out The Core Theatre.

I had a chance to see Inferno: Fire at the Cocoanut Grove, 1942 a couple months ago at the Core Theatre in Richardson, TX. I was really impressed by the cast and its job to convey an important message about a fire that changed fire safety laws we know of today. This is a story that everyone should be aware of, and I learned that there is going to be a production of this same show in Boston, MA at the Boston Center for the Arts in February of next year, 2016. Ironically, the theater is a mile away from where the actual Cocoanut Grove nightclub originally stood. I am going to try to make the opening in Boston, once I find out more details. John Dallas, TX

The Core Theatre is a wonderful tight knit family that produces quality theatre and hits the "core" of your heart. I have not only performed with TCT I have also enjoyed watching and collaborating with fellow actors and actresses. James Prince consistently produces full bodies of work that speak, engage and leave you feeling full. TCT and the work that goes into the stage productions are that of quality talent and quality work. I would encourage those whom have not experienced Core Theatre to attend at least one show and revel in the amount of talent and dedication that goes into each piece of work. Great theatre, great work and great people.

I absolutely love this theatre. Every show they produce is very well put together and always entertains. They choose actors well and the direction is inspired. This is such a fantastic little theatre that you can bring the whole family to enjoy. So often these days we see production value tied up with shock value. You cannot take your children or grandparents to those shows. Here, they entertain, tackle interesting (and sometimes difficult) subject matter in a way that doesnt offend. It is so refreshing to have such a theatre in the area and more people should come to check out this gem located right in the heart of Richardson.

My wife and I have been to four or five shows over the last year. James Prince who is the artistic director puts together some of the most fascinating productions, with some the most talented actors I have ever seen in community theater. If you go see a play, call the theater first and ask about the deal with the Brazilian Steakhouse next door. It is one of our favorite date nights. Great food followed up with wonderful entertainment. This is an inexpensive little gem located in Richardson. You will be pleasantly surprised at the fun you will have.

I want to applaud Core Theatre for its production of FIRE AT THE COCOANUT GROVE 1942. Richardson and DFW should be proud. The play was an honest telling of an American tragedy that made me feel I had been transported to 1942 to gain better insight into the lives of some of the vicitms of that ill-fated night. The playwright/producer/director/actor, James Prince, is such a multi-talented theater artist who takes little credit for his good writing. I look forward to what James Prince and his Core Theatre will come up with next!
