This place is a modern bar with music venue attached, and an art/music gallery upstairs! What more could you ask for in a venue?? The alcohol is a little pricey, and the art on the night we went was an odd sort of "black art" light. The music consisted of 3 pretty awesome guys including David Ramirez... he was the best! There was a Sitar player in the art area, and an acoustic player in the bar area... good music all around, good beverages, and a huge music venue! So all in all, id highly reccommend it... one star off was for the weird art. Well be back sometime!

Incredible little venue - a jewel! Came to see Tom Chaplin in January (of Keane fame), and the staff was amazingly hospitable and genuine. "Kessler Kenny" made certain my friend and I had a wonderful time, told us a good bit about the history of the venue, and made certain our night was absolute magic. Acoustically, the space is well-designed, the lobby area is top-notch (and gorgeous!). The owners attention to detail is unparalleled, and I will definitely return to see more shows here!

I thought this was a great intimate venue for shows. That is until I was told I needed to leave as my group was being too loud at a Peep show where they very clearly stated they wanted audience participation. I was never told about the issue until we were asked to leave. I actually think it was discrimination against lesbians. Dont go there unless you are heterosexual. Atmosphere was nice. Good assortment of the types of seats (chairs, high tables, standing, benches) allows all types of people in attendance to be comfortable. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the view. The music was good but the base for both the opener and the headliner was not clear so I assume it was the sound setup for the place. Overall a great experience.

Formerly a small neighborhood movie theater, the Kessler has been transformed into an intimate concert venue. While it has its own bar within the theater, as a part of the Bishop Arts District, there are numerous small eating and drinking establishments within a short walk of the theater.

You will feel like you just attended a private concert. Very intimate and great acoustics. Drinks at the bar were very good, as was the pork sliders. $6 margaritas and 7$ sliders..thats a great value for a venue like this. Friendly staff, clean facility, free parking, highly recommend.

I can not tell you the number of times we have gone to the Kessler. The shows are fantastic. The venue is intimate and there is not a bad seat in the house. Depending on who is playing, you might have the opportunity to meet the band. We love this place and recommend it to everyone.

Love this intimate, historical place. We got the cheap seats...I would recommend a pillow for your butt if you get those, because the chairs can get uncomfortable for a long performance. The food, snacks and drinks were delicious, and the entertainment was superb.

Not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are great and the soul of the place is authentic Oak Cliff. The Kessler theater is a very intimate place to see your favorite bands and songwriters showcased. I love this place, it is truly a treasure. #thebuckpets

I have to say this is one of the best live music venues in Dallas. I love the Kessler for its decor, as well as the acoustics. Its a small. intimate setting and the sound is always excellent. I photographed Asleep at the Wheel here a few years ago.

By far the best place to see live music in Dallas. The Kessler is able to bring in national acts as well as up and coming local performers. The bar is great, the service is impeccable, and the acoustics are spot on.

Great venue, easy to get to, street parking, restaurants around the area. Wide variety of music, lots of well-known Texas outlaw bands, blues, c/w, and most any others. Prices are reasonable, good crowds.

Very intimate venue. Not a bad seat in the house! Good drinks and some cool art on display. It was very warm during the show, not sure if this is common. Will be looking for more shows to attend here.

The listening room in the Kessler is top shelf. I catch as many shows as possible there. The talent Jeffrey Liles brings in there is astounding. Grammy winners past and future. You can hear a whisper.

Just a great venue all around. Well laid out, friendly staff, perfect acoustics. Free popcorn to snack on at the bar. Upstairs experience is worth it - small balcony, and a comfy seated bar area.

An awesome intimate music venue. Our favorite place to go. Its a 50 mile drive, and we still make the trip.. Nothing like live music in a quaint venue. The sound is fabulous too!

Cozy little venue that gets some great acts now and again, and lots of local talent. A mix of laid back and pretentious clientele -- and it works well.
