The owner was extremely nice, however I had a hard time seeing the "beauty" in this place. The "Meadows" area was nice...except for the trash that you see when you first drive in. There are old coolers and stray things that just do not belong in a wedding venue area. When you head back to the main "lodge" (an older house) you get to see all of the "venue areas" that are practically on top of each other in the back yard. It definitely left a lot to be desired. The gazebo is old and rusting, so they wrapped it in green vines and lights in an attempt to hide the rust, I guess. One side view is a power plant the other side is someones back yard. I suggested to the owner that they should get privacy fences...she informed me that the 3 vines growing on the fence would eventually cover the entire fence along the power plant side...good luck with that. In the parking area the weeds were taller than me and the "farm"...chickens...were hanging out with a dog that was tied to a shack like building on cinderblocks. There was no privacy at all...its right on top of the Pflugerville Hike & Bike trail so there are peole roaming around the area constantly. Over all, it left a lot ot be desired. BUT the owners are extremely friendly, so I think that if you dont mind the things mentioned above you could be happy with a wedding there!

I cant tell you how great this place was! I wasnt sure what to expect since we had to go through a suburban neighborhood. I didnt know how they could have space enough in suburbs, you know? But its a huge piece of land that has an orchard, a 100+ year old house that makes you feel romantic, huge Texas trees, a cute mini-farm with pygmy goats (sooo cute) and chickens, they have this gorgeous staircase descending down a slope that opens up to more acres of green, they even have this beautiful gazebo and a Greek like pavilion. The pictures on the website dont do it justice. Its really a beautiful place and a total surprise, especially for how affordable it is. The whole family runs it, too. They are professional and they are friendly and make you feel comfortable. You have to go check it out. If someone asked for a recommendation Id send them right to McMurtrie Farms.

We used Mcmurtrie farms because they were one of the cheaper venues. (They are a family friend but still wouldnt recommend using them). After the wedding was over they wanted to use some of our things for another wedding, which we let them. Did we know that we were going to be billed for every made up thing. We gave them a $500 deposit and they told us we would only be receiving $20 back. (which we still havent received) They told us we left the over on cleaning mode (we never used the oven) and said they had to clean the entire house to get rid of the smell. They also told us they had to replace the blinds that were broken. We tried to raise the blinds once and they were already broken. End the end they made up expenses to cover the $500. I would recommend using another venue for any activity here.

I have attended several events at McMurtrie Farms and I must say that this is a very beautiful venue. The pictures posted on here do not do it justice. You have to see in person to fully appreciate the beauty in this gem! The management is top notch and they make sure to accomodate your every need and strive to make your event one that you will not forget! They are very friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices are VERY REASONABLE and you definately get your $$$ worth. I will continue to recommend this venue for any and all occasions.

McMurtrie Farms is a secret waiting to get out. No one would guess that this beautiful land is in the middle of a city. Rolling grass, fruit & Pecan trees. And I love the miniature farm animals. The owners have put so much work and love into the place and it shows. I can picture the limo driving through the rock wall gates, bringing me to my future husband, It truly is magical. If you are in need of an outdoor venue, for any reason, you must see this place!

I guarantee no one will work harder to make your event a success than the McMurtries. We held our annual Black Belt banquet at McMurtrie Farms and it was the best we ever had. Best atmosphere, best service. They made it a special night for us. Great venue with great service -- an unbeatable combination!
