I attended a charity event at Palm Door this weekend and had a good time. The food was catered by the on-site Pink Avocado and perfect for the open-bar drinking situation. The interior space at Palm Door is simple, old-Austin construction. Rustic, but clean. The bar was well tended by a pair of friendly folks - and giving their tips back to the cause! Out back is a medium-sized deck overlooking Waller Creek. The location of Palm Door is a hidden spot in downtown Austin and worth visiting before the Waller Creek Tunnel Project changes everything. Its one of the last vestiges of under-developed land downtown and standing on the Palm Doors back deck now shows the future in progress. The opposite shore is a construction zone and the hum of generators can be heard. Its really pretty cool to see the project take shape and I hope Palm Door is around when its all new parkland.

From the out side this place doesnt look that special. Once you open the door you are pleasantly surprised. This venue sports mahogany wooden floors and a very spacious bar. This is a great space for a cocktail party of 200 or a lecture for 120. The room has good acoustics and cute string lighting to add to the ambiance. A big pro to this spots is you can bring your own alcoholic beverages. There is also a spacious deck in the back that over looks a little creek. The Palm Door is convenient to E. 6th street and a lot of hotels.

I went to the Palm Door NYE party. Overall the space is nice but the party itself was a little weird. For $65 I guess we expected more hors doeuvres than cheese, water crackers and a plate of cookies. Also if we all paid for open bar why did we need drink tickets? It was a strange night.

Went here for the first time last night. Its a great little venue! It is fairly small, and intimate, but they have a nice, open patio area overlooking the creek in the back. The staff was very friendly. Overall a very nice atmosphere, and somewhere I will definitely visit again.

Was pleasantly surprised when I visited this venue for the Austin Chronicle Paper cuts series hosted monthly here. The building is located right downtown and offers an intimate setting with a nice, roomy patio. good times!

An interesting little event space located next to the convention center downtown. This summer the Austin Chronicle is hosting a free monthly music series here (with RSVP) caller Paper Cuts, complete with an open bar.

Great venue for Paper Cuts, but RSVPing means almost nothing because they always allow too many to RSVP, so even if you did register, you may not get in.

The venue was nice and intimate. There was no air conditioning, though, so having a wedding in July was a little hot.
