Well, what a welcome surprise greeted me today. As I said Id never play that goat ranch again as a young boy in dallas during the 70s. I had herd theyd redone the golf course so I gave it a try...all I can say is WOW...what a transformaton...whoever they hired to redo the course, did their job and whomever the greenskeeper is, has done his as the greens actually had some roll to them. Something rarely found on muni greens...I believe the greens are Champion Bermuda and should only get even better, based on the greenkeeper, his budget, etc..The only negative thing I can come up with is the out of control rough, some of it being OB next to railroad tie walls, which makes NO SENSE...Nor does not letting the cart girls keep food on the beverage cart, making you have to buy it after 9. OF course, the 1/2 deli can be busy, making it take a while to get a sandwich made, should your golfing buddy, get in front of you, and buy the last ham & cheese Sandwich that you wanted, the girls have to make one for you from scratch. All this takes up valuable time...Which of course, slows down the pace of play, only then to run out with the Sandwich in your hands, only to have a marshall looking over your shoulder, who doesnt hesitate in asking you to speed it up... Nor do they keep any Dr Pepper on the beverage cart.....a big big NO NO here in the home of Dr Pepper..BUT, what they do have is GRASS!! And plenty of it..And Ill trade Dr Pepper for grass anyday. So, and let em know you want DP and food kept on the beverage cart! ENJOY...

Was a little disappointed after waiting for them to open back up after remodeling the course. Although they did make quite a few good improvements, some of the staff was downright rude. We were playing at a good pace, but the heavy-set marshal with grey hair and mustache said some very inappropriate things to us like he was criticizing our games personally. Hiding in the shade and watching our every swing almost. Even though the rest of the staff were nice, they werent quite friendly, but it was obvious this guy has some kind of tenure there because after complaining about the guy we were told "thats just how he is". Before even going out there I had been warned that a lot of the staff was not very customer service oriented like we look for in a golf course. They made us feel like we should feel lucky to play on their little moderately remodeled golf course. We wont be back. Ill gladly spend the time to drive to Buffalo Creek in Rowlett before I go back to Mesquite Municipal GC. Nicer course, same price, and friendlier service.

one of the worst courses ive been to in a long time. granted its cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. the dallas area has so many other great courses to play, dont waste your time here. poor quality course, rude staff (especially one of the marshals), although the guy checking us in at at hole 1 was very nice. this place was just not worth the day, especially when there are so many others to choose from.

Dude! I played there before they renovated it for years and it might have been a 2 star at best. There was just nothing exciting about the course at all. Let me say it was well worth the wait for it to re-open. Couple holes you would recognize but the majority of the course has been re-worked. Added sand boxes to play in, still not much water which is fine with me but overall absolutely beautiful course now.

Ive played Private CCs that wish they were this nice. Price is right too. The city of Mesquite took it back recently and they have made really nice improvements over the past 6 months. I play Mesquite at least twice a week. The only reason its a four star and not a five star is sometimes you run into slow play.

Newly renovated course is now on par with a lot of the best public courses in the Dallas area. Play is fast and the course is in amazing shape. In response to "Dale," go to a par 3 course if youre learning to play and cant play 18 holes in less than 4 and 1/2 hours.

After hearing the course was in better shape, our group went and played it. I have never seen Mesquite in this grat of shape ( for a muni) Greens are a little slow but other than that great shape, And play was not bad either we played in under 4 hours

I hate this place because Ronnie Travis discriminates against Hispanics and Native Indians it takes 4 to 5 hours to play this course I got expelled for complain too much the reason its course is slow a lot of people like to gamble there

Course is in good shape. Pretty good layout, plenty of tee box options. Course is very short. Greens are hard to read, but putt smooth. They raised the green fees to over $35, but not sure its worth that.

The staff is awesome and friendly. The price is reasonable. The employees really care about the maintenance of the course. Greens are challenging. Cant say enough good things about Mesquite Golf Course.
