It was clean and well organized, and the staff were very friendly. However, its a pretty uninteresting place unless you harbor a strong interest in music history, rock history, or Buddy Holly. They have two very small galleries relating to Buddy Holly that have lots of items and info, but as I said they are very, very small. There is also a third fine arts gallery, though I didnt get the chance to look at that one. As of June 2017 admission for adults is $8 per person, and I include that info here for others to see because I couldnt find it posted anywhere on their Facebook and their actual website doesnt seem to be working. Be forewarned: there is no photography allowed inside of the actual galleries. Also, its not a great idea to bring kids under 12 here...they arent going to care about the exhibits and they just wind up putting fingerprints on the glass and getting in the way of the adults actually trying to look at the displays. Theres really nothing interactive or interesting for children here.

Huge fan! It was so cool to see Buddys original glasses and guitars. All the stuff from his childhood was so interesting. The display room is small but impactful. I wish I could have taken a few photos in there but it was also nice to just be in the moment. I took selfies outside by the giant glasses. I also enjoyed the other art displays. Staffers in the gift shop were beyond nice and helpful. This is the kind of place that makes me proud to be a Texan. Anyone in the area should definitely stop here to enjoy, learn, and help preserve Buddy Hollys legacy for future generations.

What a terrific little museum! Its fun from beginning to end. Not large, but theres plenty to see, with the added bonus of rotating art exhibits in the other wing of the building. There are all kinds of memorabilia collected here, a timeline of his life, plenty of pictures, and to top it all off, you can buy yourself a pair of Buddy Holly sunglasses in the museum gift shop and wear them while you pose for pictures atop the giant glasses out front! Who could resist? Go, you wont be sorry.

Loved my visit to the Buddy Holly Museum. Plenty of exhibits. Loved seeing his clothes and glasses. When you think about it,Buddy was so young when we lost him,I am amazed at the exhibits they have. The staff was so friendly and never tired of my questions,or my desire to just talk about Buddy. Well worth the time. Do not miss it! There were people from London and Germany there the day I visited. The world loves Buddy Holly.

I was brought up on the music of Buddy and Elvis. Singing / recording their music on reel to reel and playing(attempting to play!) those stunning riffs with my dad in the kitchen..or little room as it was known back then.Visiting the centre and the Holly family grave was something I had to do.A totally unforgettable experience and I can say Ive been there.A beautiful place .Worth the 12 hour return drive from Dallas!

Having visited the Rock and Roll Museum in Clovis, NM, which has a lot of Buddy Holly memorabilia, and a great big screen video about him and others, I guess I expected more in Lubbock since that is where Buddy Holly called home. The only real highlight was his guitars, including the one he was playing the night the music died. I think Lubbock should try harder, and make a better tribute to him.

The exhibit was somewhat interesting and had some cool items but it small and the staff was rude. Sign stated that my daughter was supposed to be free but center charged us for her and gave attitude about it when asked about it. Not worth the time or money unless you are a big fan of Buddy Holly.

I think that getting to know Lubbock involves visiting this place. It is full of life and is diverse in a way that intrigues. I recommend it wholeheartedly especially to younger students because the main purpose of museums is not entertaining but educating.

Very cool exhibit. Lots of cool stuff to see and read. Only down side, they dont let you take pictures. Most of the stuff is on loan from other people and has something to do with copyrights. Still worth the trip I say.

It was awesome I loved it but.they should be playing his music not only just in the gift shop but through out the building.and more info on the artifacts.more info on artifacts and I would have given this 5 stars

A wonderful tribute to one of the most influential names in popular music. My only suggestion is to offer better explanations for some of the items on display. Other than that, its very well done.

It is a great place to learn about history as well as one of the men whom changed history in the music history and an art gallery full of art that is out of this world........

The mecca for all things Buddy Holly. Be sure to get a photograph with the larger than life-sized Buddy Holly glasses outside! Makes for the perfect souvenir photo!

Was very educational about Buddy and the beginning of Rock and Roll most think the British brought Rock to the USA when in fact they were inspired by Buddy..

Did you know that The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Elton John were all influenced by Buddy Holly? Neither did I!

Nice but his widow is a jerk and she is a money hungry broad. Kinda cheapens the memory of a seminal musician.
