The National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock is a great place for family outings. The facilities and the grounds are very well maintained and the events hosted at the NRHC are second to none. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable, and the ranch dwellings and structures are fascinating. The NRHC is well suited for kids and adults. The new APP that was recently released is full of information and will take you on a self guided tour. If you are in Lubbock for a meeting, football game, or family get together, you should consider taking a tour through the NRHC.

If you like old ranch buildings this place has them. Everything from the late 1700s to early 1900s. The only thing I wished was that you could go inside them. There arent any you can enter, however, you can look into the majority of the windows and see the inside. Everything is outside on paved paths, we walked around 2.5 miles. Inside there is art exhibits and Indian artifacts. Susan Jones(?) was wonderful she gave us a brief history of the area and some history of one of the artists and his drawings.

This is a hidden gem on the Texas Tech Campus. Experience the authentic history of the evolution of ranching in West Texas. Theres more buildings than you can count on this property that offer a glimpse into ranchings heritage. This is a fun weekend trip or go to one of the many special events they offer.

If you have not been here you are missing out on a treat. If you like history this is a fun place to be able to look into the past and see how differently people lived through the years since the area was settled. They have a event every December called The Candlelight Walk that should be a part of...

What a great way to experience history! My 7 & 3 year old sons enjoyed seeing and hearing about all the buildings and artifacts and how they fit into our history. It was nice that it was outside and they could move around instead of being in a stuffy building.

If youve not visited here yet, youre missing one of the most amazing places in Lubbock. This is history come to life. Be sure and not miss the Christmas event, Candlelight at the Ranch, every year. This place deserves a 6th star.

Seeing through actual historical buildings how ranching came to exist in TX gives a fair idea of the living conditions of those pioneer ranchers... The carriages and lever action rifles collections are quite nice too.
