A hidden gem amidst the concrete towers of West Houston... serene and safe ... makes West Houston extraordinary. Park off Dairy Ashford for easy access, but there are other access points also. Walk in either direction and know that each major intersection roughly marks a mile -- a walk from Dairy Ashford east to Kirkwood and back, for example, is 2 miles (1 each coming and going). Weekends bring bike congestion in the mid-morning (gotta love the biking crowd ... ugh). But take the trails on the north side and youll have more peace. I prefer Terry Hershey because its less congested on weekends than Memorial Park or Buffalo Bayou.

I rather like this park. its very well kept. I really love that it has a paved road to walk/run/bike on and a tandem dirt trail for a more interesting walk. I also like that for most of the distance, you have the bayou just far enough where you can see it and hear it, but not close enough where you might tell in fall in. There is also plenty of space to play sports or picnic between the asphalt and the dirt trail. You can also start the walk at a lot of different spots. It is important to note that this park does not loop around.

I appreciate the usefulness of the park in the suburbs right by a lot of the energy corridor. I do wish that the City of Houston would put in more trails and bike routes leading to the park, as well as better access near the Eldridge/Memorial area. The park has a lot of potential, and Ive seen the general use increase in the recent years, but have also heard concerns about safety at night/early morning, though Ive never encountered anything particularly strange when biking the park at 6/630am.

Wonderful park in the middle of the Energy Corridor. Nice trails, pretty scenery and quite. The trail is great for an extended bike ride when you include George Bush Park trail, making an out and back from Fry road about 35 miles. Just one thing......do your riding during the week days. On the weekends the trails are overcrowded with everybody from 3 year olds on trikes to 80 year olds using walkers. The trails are then an accident waiting to happen.

Beautiful paved trails with mostly gentle hills. About 10 miles from one end to the other on the main path. Im sort of a novice biker and there were definitely a few steep hairpin turns that had me white knuckling my way down, especially if there in a crowded Saturday morning. However, this is one of the best places in Houston for feeling close to nature and getting much needed SHADE while running/biking in the hot summer.

If youve never been to Hershey Park then grab your bike or running shoes and get out here. Beautiful nature Park that extends from the beltway near town and country all the way out to highway 6. Round trip on a bike is around 18 miles but you can extend that once you get to highway 6 there is another trail you can link on to. There are multiple points of access all along the park. Wild Flowers in the Spring.

Theres a very long stretch for walking and biking along the path that you can do for hours. Lots of squirrels, ducks, and herons. It was quite nice and peaceful with benches and water fountains every so often along the way. People came with their dogs and strollers enjoying the weather and wooded scene from the bayou. Even saw a group of bikes taking an off the path trail along the water for rougher terrain.

Definitely loved it! Must have for Houstonians... Ive been living in Houston for a little over a year now, and I just discovered this AWESOME park. I like biking, and there is a way to take the MB trails one way, and the paved way coming back. Pretty amazing, at least for me, that I like riding both terrains :D Highly recommended for biking at the least!!!

Great trails for strollers and kids. Loops so you can take a nice long walk and go to the park. Park is usually clean. Not much shade except for the gazebos, but its not too bad. I personally like a rugged trail with cliffs to climb and roots to trip over. This is not that at all but its okay if you want to take a jog with your baby in the stroller.

Beautiful park along the bayou. I especially love the Ant Hills mountain biking trails. They are a hidden gem in this mountain-less city. Its unfortunate that the recent storms have eroded the trail on the eastern portion of the park. Hopefully some strong mitigation can prevent this from getting too terrible in the future.

If I had to find a gripe: This park needs more shade at the tables near the childrens equipment. Its a nice place to get some sun and let your kids get some exercise. If you live in a tightly packed apartment complex like I do and theres nowhere for them to run, Terry Hershey Park is a godsend.

Great place to go biking or running. Nice asphalt paths. Bit more shade would have been nice but overall great paths. Paths go by the bayou so you can always diverge and explore the bayou as well. If you like off-road biking there is a path on the south side (opposite the main asphalt path).

Great place for a run or a bike ride. If you ride from one end to the other (I start at the constable station at Barker Cypress and ride to Beltway 8 and back) the round trip is about 22 miles, and you can add another 14 miles if you ride through George Bush park to Fry and back also.

Love the park, every time I or we go its an awesome experience. Its very quiet and relaxing, has a good amount of area so you wont get bored so easily. The floods did a LOT of damage to the park but they are getting it back together and its looking beautiful again.

Beautiful Trail. The closest place to get away from non nature. lotts of little wild animals and wild flowers. allot of it is under construction. Hopefully they make the pavement much more wider for passing traffic like bikes and Skate/ Longboards.

Our favorite mountain and road biking park in Houston. Great trails, lots of trees, wildflowers. Parking at beltway 8, dairy ashford, memorial near eldridge, and highway 6. Plenty of space and shade for picnics. The bayou helps grow some big trees.

This is my favorite biking and walking spot in Houston. I especially like the fact that you do not have to enter traffic at intersections. Many locations along the Route make you feel like youre not in the middle of a major metropolitan area.

Its a convenient and easy access park for runs and walks. Hope the renovation is finished soon. The section close to our home has been closed for a few months now due to undergoing repairs to fix the damage from last years rains.

Fun mountain biking! get off the trail and go through some of the trees down by the river and you can get into some fun tight spots really fast! Love that it is right in town so you dont have to drive far to have fun biking.

If youre a longboarder I definitely recommend this place. Their are plenty of hills and smooth road to enjoy your ride. Also personally I enjoyed the workout stations along the trail perfect if youre into calisthenics.
