Absolutely DID NOT enjoy this. I read alot of good reviews before I made a reservation for me and my girlfriend for the trip on 3/15/14. The webpage said it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to Fort Worth from Grapevine, which it did. It did make few stops on its way but i could live with it. HOWEVER, on the way back from Fort Worth to Grapevine, we were stopped for ONE HOUR AND THIRTY MINUTES!! WITHOUT ANY KIND OF REASONABLE EXPLANATION OR APOLOGY! I mean if I were the one running the train, I would at least try to treat the customer the best way I can by offering some kind of snacks or drinks during those hours when the train was not even moving but guess what?? NOTHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Im definitely thinking about calling them and see what kind of compensation I can get out of this MADNESS since I had to sit around and do NOTHING for one hour and 30 minutes.

If I could click half this star I would. We spent more time sitting on the train waiting for other trains to go by, had no time to enjoy the stockyards with family. I think this is a very poorly organized event. I know the railroad runs on a schedule so I find it hard to believe more can not be done to reduce travel time to and from the stockyards. And apart from one older gentleman who walked up and down the train telling jokes and asking trivia questions the staff was horrible. When asked by passengers why we were stopped and how much longer, they acted as if it was the first time this has ever happened. I thought the gift shop was affordable but I think tickets to ride are WAY over priced for the boring uneventful time trap that it is.

It was an interesting experience. However this excursion train is low on the totem pole and has to wait for any other kind of train to pass. An hour and half may not seem long, but it is when you are stopped for the third time, sitting on hard wooden seats with no idea when it might be your turn to go again. Im sure if you were on a theme ride (polar express or western train heist) that would help pass the time. Otherwise if you have young ones, be prepared with something to keep them entertained. And there definitely was not enough time to see much in the stockyards or even really to eat at a restaurant.

We went from grapevine to the Ft. Worth stock yards in style. We were on the air conditioned first class car. I was surprised it stayed as cool as it did, I figured air conditioned would be two degrees above the ambient temperature outside but it was really nice...because we did go outside to get some hot dogs and popcorn and then back to the comfy seats. Sheriff Joshua was great, our little boy got a badge for keeping the bad guys away from the train, and we got a nice photo as a souvenir. Good times were had by all.

We had a miserable experience. Tickets to the cars with A/C sell out fast. They ran out of cold water. The little ones and their grandma had a really tough time with the heat. Expect long delays. The departure was later than stated and their were several delays increasing the travel time by several hours. Some of the staff were rude. One of our friends was called a thief because she took a picture on her phone of the photos that they passed out for purchase. I think his name was Addison.

Absolute blast!! If you are looking for something fun to do, I HIGHLY recommend doing this. Not only is this train over 100 years old, it has a very prestigious feel to it when you are costing along the Texas farmlands. Theres even a point where you cross over a tressel. This attraction does take about 5 hours in total. The train stops at the Stockyards and gives you about an hour to shop and/or eat. When I took this train it was my first time seeing the stockyards. Very cool experience.

We took the kids on the Vintage Railroad ride during the summer and it was a nice experience, except it was very hot. We were not sure which type of seats to get, so we ended up sitting in the open section instead of inside. It was hot and next time we will spend the extra few dollars to sit inside the air conditioned section. Otherwise, we had a good time and we would do this again. Kids loved it and we did as well and were able to do something together as a family. Enjoy!

Terrible. We spent more time sitting on the train and waiting for other trains to pass than anything else. I will never ride this again. There was no communication. At one point, we started going BACKWARDS. The staff was friendly - thats the only good thing about this. There was no time to enjoy the stockyards since we spent so much time waiting on the train. GVRR needs to be better organized/planned with train schedules to actually make this enjoyable.

Fun train ride to the Fort Worth Stockyard, great for kids and adults who just want to do something different. Dont be on a schedule you have to stick to, the train can have unexpected delays upon return and you may spend longer than expected on board. Inexpensive snacks and drinks for sale on board also. Unless you like heat, during the summer, purchase advanced tickets for the air conditioned coach, they sell out fast. Train robbery was cool too.

We brought our daughter during the Christmas season where they turn this into the Polar Express. If you have little ones, this is a great Christmas experience for them and it will heighten their belief in Santa and the North Pole. Just make sure to get your tickets for it early as they do sell out when they are open. There are also picture of Santa afterwards which is a nice end to a great experience. I will recommend my family and friends to visit.

This is my review for the Main Street Festival, which occurred on Grapevine Vintage Railroad. This festival was simply imcredible, the best festival I have ever been to. Grapevine is a growing city with wonderful taste in music, arts, city architecture and more. From hopping on the limousine bus to eating the greatest turkey leg ever, I had such a fun time and would recommend this over just about any other festival in DFW!

Do not do it!!!! not worth your money and time I spend $72 for 4 tickets to be seated in a VERY POOR ventilated coach train waiting for more than and hour due to "rail road traffic"...and when the train finally moves the only things you will be seeing will be urban houses back yards and industrial junk yards not pretty at all...........take your car or a Uber to Stockyards, it will be much better and enjoyable...

The ride was fun for my boys but it was false advertisement. It said trex express and there was nothing dinosour about it. The description said interactive dinosaur activities and the only activity was getting cars to honk. Then the 4 dollar museum was boring and a waste of money. The whole thing was a let down and my boys asked to go home. Putting a few dino stickers doesnt do it. Horriblet and upsetc I wasted money.
