Worst Pro Shop Staff in DFW Metroplex I am an avid golfer who has played most all of the public golf courses in the DFW metroplex. I have never written a review of anything in my life, but the pro shop staff at Grapevine Muni is so bad it is forcing me to comment on my experiences. In the last 2 years, I have probably played this golf course 30 times. I have never once had a kind and positive experience with the pro shop. I honestly don’t know why, but it is common place for pro shop staff to act like they are above everyone else. Maybe they are members of Dallas National and DCC on the side and just choose to work at Grapevine Muni for fun, but you would think they would have a better attitude. Every time I have been there it is an inconvenience for them to have to come over and let me pay for my green fees. The last time I went, the pro shop staff member remained on the phone for 5 solid minutes before he acknowledged me. Once he did acknowledge me, he went over to the other counter to help out an older gentleman who had just walked in the door. Once he finished helping the older gentlemen (who just needed some range balls) he went back to answering and talking on the phone for another couple of minutes. I was in the pro shop for a minimum of 10 min before I was ever acknowledged. No other person was in the pro shop. Probably two months ago my friend went to fill up his cooler with beer from the bar at Grapevine Muni. The lady back there was very pleasant. We also needed water because it was 105 degrees outside, which if you live in Dallas would completely understand. The lady working the bar was extremely kind and got us 4 beers and two jugs of water. The gentlemen working in the pro shop comes over to the bar and demands that she not serve us because we brought our own coolers and bottles. Please keep in mind it is 105 degrees outside at is a Tuesday afternoon. The bartender and the pro shop staff member get in an argument for about 3 min and finally she says we can’t use our cooler or water bottles. She gives us a bag of ice with the beer and we have to order two bottles of water because we couldn’t use our bottles. I could give you about 10 other such examples, but the bottom line is that the pro shop staff at Grapevine is the is the worst in the DFW metroplex. The golf course is great and succeeds in spite of their horrible attitudes.

Everything leading up to the end of the day was going good until, The groundskeeper or golf cart washer called myself an idiot,, i was blown away and never had any employee call a customer bad words. i parked the cart by the entrance to walk up and buy a souvenir, asked the pro shop if it was ok i took the keys out, he said no problem and they will take care of the cart, i walked down the stairs and heard somebody yelling, and told me to bring it over there, didnt know if he was talking to me,, then said Hey Idiot !!,, i was blown away and asked him to come over and say it to my face, explained the pro shop said it was ok, he said he didnt care,, Talk about unprofessional to the Highest Degree. I can say the bartender was great, very friendly, the golf cart girl was really nice, and they older gentleman at the driving range was nice, but after being disrespected and paying probably over $200 on the day on fees and beverages, or even $1 should never be dis respcected that way. He was older guy, kinda bald. I really Hope the Management takes proper steps on this.

I must concur with some of the reviews I read on this course in regards to the pro shop staff. I just played recently during the week and the pro shop staff is just not that friendly. I got the feeling that if you are not a regular at the course you just dont seem to get the same treatment. With a better pro shop staff this course should rate a 4 to 5 but since I am rating on the whole experience its only a 2 in my book. So no matter how great the course is, your only as good as the people you have running it. Thats business 101.

There are many outdoor activities, including; marinas, golf, parks, and trails for pedestrians, hikers, bikers, and equestrians alike. The current major disadvantage of this location is the current construction project. That aside, the area full of recreational activities, worthy of the trip and even the headache of the construction zones. I would advise checking for highway closures/alternate routes ahead of time. Meadowmere park, Scotts Marina, Cowboys Golf Course, and Katies woods are some areas of interest.

Very fun course w/3 sets of 9 holes. Conditions are great right now. There are some tough holes sprinkled throughout the course but most are pretty straight forward. Greens were rolling great and really biting. Pace was a bit slow but not near as bad as many other nice places iN DFW. Plus how can you not love a place that still has a cigarette vending machine in the clubhouse. haha. Had not seen one of those since I was kid. Actually added to the overall feel of the entire place.

Best municipal course in DFW. My kids have not only been welcomed, theyre encouraged. Yes, if your kids are running around or you dont pay rider fees, what can one say ? The 9s are run to play. Grass is excellent and greens fast. Youll also note the fairways are fair not like at a lot of munis where theyre theyve obviously crammed too many holes into too small a field. Real fairways, real greens, real elevation changes. The scenery and wildlife are also wonderful to see.

Yes, it does cost 5 dollars to get in, but that money goes to the tending and management of these beautiful grounds. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean and well maintained. The shores are littered sometimes but if you make it a point to the management they acknowledge your request. Love it!

Best muni in Texas! Great scenery and pro shop staff. The restaurant is not that great, but it is leased to the outside, so dont blame the course. It needs to get to the level of the course. Maybe one day. Otherwise, I love all 27 holes, the layout and all the wildlife Ive encountered there.

Very, very nice golf course. Good challenging holes with large well cared for greens. Bunkers were in very good shape and the staff was friendly and nice to deal with. Played on a Saturday morning and left the course feeling I had just gotten a real bargain.

The golf course was in great shape. Probably the best municipal course I ever played. The course was fun. Played with a member one day and had a great time. Staff is not the friendliest but the course makes up for it. The value for the course is excellent.

Nice course, lots of challenges. Marshal was kind of rude. I had my girlfriend with me and he pointed at her as she was sitting in the cart and yelled at me, telling me I had to pay a rider fee. Thought this was a game of gentlemen.
