This was my first time to play the course. I will say the fairways were in good shape and I enjoyed the layout of the course. That being said, here is why the 1 star. Got there, paid, then proceeded to the practice green to discover the greens had just recently been aerated. When our tee time was made no one bothered to say, "Hey, we just recently aerated the greens this last Monday." nor did they tell us before paying to play(full price I must add). It was just a surprise when arriving to the putting green. It was early in the AM and its not like we could just leave and catch a tee time somewhere else, so we played anyway. After the round I went inside and spoke to the guy behind the counter in the pro shop and asked him about the greens and why they didnt bother to disclose that over the phone or even before we paid. All he said was, "Im sorry about that, we were telling people at the beginning of the week, but figured they would be good to go by the weekend." Really? you work at a golf course, cant you go outside and look at the greens and tell how bad they still are just to the naked eye? Or better yet, go strike a few putts on them. They apparently were not too interested in gaining my future business since he didnt offer to comp my next green fee or at least offer a discounted rate for my next visit. Needless to say they have earned there 1 star and I will not be going back.

I will never play this course again. The bar cart girl noticed that we had brought beer (no posted policy anywhere on this), and proceeded to tell us that she would have to confiscate the alcohol. Thats fine but, she was extremely rude about it and should have just said dont do it next time cause, we didnt know. Now fast forward about 7 holes later and, while we were putting, we saw her rummaging through our golf bags. I stood up and yelled "WTF?". I thought she was stealing our wallets and she yelled back, "Im looking for beer. I dont care anyway Im at the end of my shift!" I have NEVER in 25 years of playing golf had a mental midget low wage bimbo bar cart chick pull the crap this girl was doing. I told the person in the golf house at the end of the day and he seemed to not care. No chance of a refund or even a free round or anything. NEVER AGAIN

This golf course is a little tricky to find as the office sits behind ACC and GPS will direct you to the fairway but not the actual office. Once I figured it out, I paid my green fees and waited in the lobby/ restaurant area until my tee time was up. I made my way down to the tees and was waiting for them to announce my name but that never happened. I teed off on time and proceeded to play. This golf course is well kept and will make you work your short game. I thought the level of difficulty suited me fine as Im a beginner level player. Good challenge and beautiful course! I will return as soon as possible.

The old Austin Country Club still has it. I told myself after playing this course in the summer of 2008 that Id never be back. The course was in horrible shape at the time and it really bothered me because it has so much potential. So when I was scheduled to play in a tournament in July of 2009 I was expecting the worse. To my surprise, the course was in wonderful shape considering the drought weve been experiencing. The greens rolled true and I even got some action from my approach shots. I was excited to see the course in great shape because this is a treasure for Austin Golf.

Golf course was in horrible condition. I had to push my golf cart up every hill because it would not make it up. Also, I had to abandon my cart on hole 14 because it died. On hole 4 I asked the marshall to bring me a new cart and he smiled and said, "Absolutely, Ill be right back with one." Of course, he never came with one. After my round I asked for my cart fee back. Not the whole price of the round, just my cart fee. The pro refused and said he would give me a "discounted" round the next time I came. I WILL NEVER EVER SPEND A SINGLE DIME AT YOUR GOLF COURSE EVER AGAIN.

where do I start. walking into the clubhouse I almost fell through the stair. The stairs are falling apart. walking into the clubhouse it looks like a dump. then we get the golf cart and the brakes do not work and are making a high pitch sqeeking noise. Then we exchanged the cart and the gps does not work on the next cart. then we play the course and it is so over watered that there is mud puddles in the middle of the course. then you have the price. with range balls it cost me $64.00. Not worth the money at all. Stay away from this course it is a total rip off.

I find this course to be one of the more difficult public courses. The first couple holes start out open with few trees but change after hole 4. Then comes alot of water and doglegs. Most course seem to be really straight. Makes you choose more carefully when teeing off. It does not have the nicest club house but very friendly people. The course condition I would say is above average. Especially during the winter they seem to make an extra effort to keep it good. Pricing is great. Especially if you dont mind going after noon.

Guy below cracks me up. Its the law knuckle head at least you got a mean cart girl instead of a police officer. Dont let being cheap and getting your feelings hurt by a the lady jade your opinion of Riverside Golf Course, which is a golf course, which you are reviewing. So, if you hadnt of been brought to tears by the cart girl and lost your cheap brewskies what would your opinion be of the golf course? Otherwise we dont give a rip about your disappointment in the way they handled your idiocy.

These guys "get it" !! They understand how to run a golf course and how to treat your customers. Upon check in the pro apologized and told me they were running 10 minutes behind due to a tournament. Later, he drove a cart out to the 9th tee to hand us half off vouchers because we were stuck behind the slow playing tournament. In addition, the entire staff was kind and friendly including the cart girl. I wish more courses in DFW would follow this recipe.

Its a great golf course for players of any level. The black tees are very challenging with the added distance, forced carries, and blind dogleg tee shots. The junior tees and the layout of the course also make it a great place for beginners and junior golfers to learn how to play. The GM and Assitant GM are always very professional and helpful when we book our tournaments.
