Let me count the ways that I hate Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie and the many reasons that we will never go to the theater again. First, the tickets were reasonable until you added on all the fees per ticket. Charging a fee / convenience fee for an order is reasonable. Charging a $30-plus dollar fee per ticket is ridiculous. Then you add on tax. So, our $100 tickets became $130 plus dollar tickets. Add in the fact that we had an obstructed view and couldnt see a good quarter of the show, and you have one very, very angry theatre-goer. So, the tickets are ridiculous, and then the parking is an additional $15 for the privilege of parking about a mile from the front door which is all uphill. Im not sure what nincompoop designed the Verizon Theater, but it was definitely not somebody who had any sort of disability / handicapped person in mind. It is very non user-friendly. Then, we finally get to the door and are told that all of our purses are going to be searched. Mine was searched and I was told that my tablet, which I do not use to record, could not be taken in and I would have to take it back 1 mile to my car and then walk back one mile to the door, but I was assured that I could jump to the front of the line since Id already waited. Now, I find it very interesting that throughout the show this moratorium on tablets was so effective in people not taping the show - - not - - since people were taping the show on all their phones. Wow, Verizon Theater, what a great idea. So effective. Further complaints are $6 for a medium sized, oh wait lets call it a large size, Coke. The only good thing that I can say about the theater once youre inside is that this staff is actually fairly polite and cordial. This is the third and last time that we will ever go to this theater, and I dont even care what the show is. No show is worth putting up with the ridiculously overpriced, poorly managed, thoroughly aggravating venue.

So Im torn in giving this place 2 stars. I went to see SHINee this summer and lol by far the worst experience I ever had in a concert. The actual show, the presentation, meaning SHINee, was perfect. The problem was before and after. I got there around 3 hours before the show due to trying to pick up my pre order of merchandise. When me and my group of friends got there the line was ridiculously long already, which Im okay with, is normal. However, as time passed and the doors opened the line moved every 30mins, it resulted that where the big line was it was only ONE of the plenty entrances the place has but not a single staff/security member said anything, they just let the line loop around itself. When i was half way through a security guy pointed that there were other entrances and we literally ran because the show was about to start in 10mins. The ticket buying process was also a mess from the fact that the venue did not allow us to select the seats we wanted to showing an available section but giving us a far away one. It took us about an hour until it generated a good seats selection. After the show the lack of organization showed through. The cash lines and debit/credit cards line were not seperated so there were people that would reach the merch table and sent back to the end of the line they were supposed to be at, which is bs cause they could have easily pass them to the other person. Also, it was a no re entry venue and no where in the ticket stated that, some Shawols were complaining about not being to come back in to buy more merch after they were out of the lobby area. Again, Im torn because it seems it was more of a management/event planner issue than the venue, but who knows. Parking was a mess as well, but the lack of organization really killed it for me. SHINee was perfect, though.

The actual venue is beautiful. Seats are comfy and the view from the nose bleeds isnt too bad. The logistics of getting into the beautiful venue are AWEFUL! There is only one entrance/exit. (I wish I could BOLD AND UNDERLINE that last sentence.) ONE. Honestly. ONE. Not only ONE entrance, there is only ONE lane to get into this entrance. With some illegal maneuvers (making an illegal U-Turn, passing everyone in the right lane, etc) you can at least by-pass some of the horrible-ness, but you are still risking a lot by trying to save an hour - yes - an hour - to get into the parking lot. I am sure a lot of people have done the same and have been livid trying to get into the parking lot. Once you are off Belt Line, the driveway becomes two lanes, but it is still horrible. Once you get to parking, make sure you bring cash, as if you have to pay to park, they do not have the capability to take credit cards. Once you get into the building, be prepared for more lines, as it seems they were not prepared to have actual people come to their venue. Bathrooms are only on the main floor, no escalators that I could see, Im sure there was an elevator. Getting food or beverage = also a line. Once seated, youll enjoy the acoustics and the view. Once the show is over, be prepared for another nightmare of exiting the venue. Think - the possibility of 2+ hours to leave. Enjoy!

We went to see Hank Williams Jr last night and this was our first time here. We were very impressed with this venue and will definitely come back to see another favorite artist. The parking was very efficient and plentiful without having to walk a mile to get the the stadium. Leaving was very organized as well and we were one the road in no time. As far as the stadium itself, it seemed like there was no bad seats there coming in from the section 300s and working our way down to the front section 106. Acoustics were awesome and the feel of the place is intimate. As far as one reviewer saying something about people just sitting in their seats, Im not sure who they saw but when Hank came on stage, everyone was up and dancing around in their area. bathrooms were near and plentiful, ushers were very helpful and walked you to your isle, concessions were a little pricey as expected at most venues but what was cool is they had some volunteer group work at least one of the stations (maybe more, Im not sure) and their tips were going to some charity. I think its pretty cool because they get to help out the community. One more thing, the signal service did seem weak but was no means blocked like someone stated. I have Sprint, My wife AT&T and although both were weak, we did get updates and texts, although somewhat slow.

I have not been to this venue in a while, and after Fridays show. I know now why. It would help if the entrance leading to the theater had an officer at the end directing the traffic up instead of everyone playing Mario go kart. Little more structure with parking. VIP $40 is a little steep. The VIP lot I was told to park in was full and some guy tried to direct me out and park me in the $15 parking. I protested and told him I wouldnt move my car until I had VIP what I paid for and showed him a VIP sticker given to me by employee. Dont oversell parking if you cant accommodate. The female parking attendant taking our payment who clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes needs to be moved somewhere else. Once we were inside the theater for a mixed drink and a beer $32 really, the two restrooms are downstairs you have to navigate up and down the stairs or the one elevator that everyone was waiting for. It was hot inside the venue on already hot day. For those who never frequent this venue when you have a performer thats going to attract a much much older crowd it would be nice to have more employees. I saw people with walking devices trying to navigate the stairs where I was sitting. you cant get cell phone service inside the building. I hope you dont have an emergency you need to call someone .
