I visited the course for a round this past year and found it to be in very nice shape. It is a very challenging course if you are playing it for the first time. The main reason for the low review is that there was no map or hole information on the course. No pictures at the tees, no map on the scorecard...nothing. We were playing as if we were blindfolded. I lost several balls on the first nine due to hazards you could not see. I went in the clubhouse after 4 holes and asked for a map and the only one available was $3.25. They told me I could download their app for free which we did, but we couldnt navigate it especially since the course was busy and you had to stop, get out your phone, open the app....you get the idea. VERY FRUSTRATING. I was confused beings that it is a course combined with a hotel where a lot of play would be first time visitors. They should help speed up play and make it more enjoyable by simply providing a course layout and hole information. Im sure there are a lot of golfers like me that try to leave their phone in the car...not to mention the many golfers that may not have smart phones.

This is a layout that is very challenging. However, the condition of the course is less than adequate. I think it goes without saying that in the Texas August heat you will have some dry areas of a golf course. This one is one of the driest around. It is apparent that either a. maintenance department is substandard and doesnt care or B. Management is spending the money on adequate service items. There were a number of sprinkler heads just laying on the ground. I made the comment that I would not be surprised that this course may shutdown in the near future. That being said, I found that the staff was very friendly and had us out playing in a hurry. The clubhouse is nice and clean so there are some bright spots. Here are the things I would like to see: 1. Water the course to bring it back to a decent condition before it turns into the goat ranch. 2. There needs to be a layout map of the course to be able to know how to play it. Definately would not spend the full price playing this course but the 1/2 off coupons were nice. Plus, playing with my wife and neighbor made my day!

Played 18 holes yesterday and had a great time. Yes I read the reviews talking about the greens being bumpier than a frozen pickle but thats how it goes when greens are under emergency repair. Overall the course was in good, playable shape. The birds eye view is what is important here. First, this GC is not crowded...almost like having the place to yourself....so sweet. Second, I encountered an extremely cordial staff....and that includes a friendly question "answerer" in the parking lot, a knowledgeable and accommodating pro-shop attendant, greens keepers who looked out for golfers, and a smiling cart attendant. I played on a coupon but would gladly come back and pay full price. If you have to have perfect greens, then wait a few months. If you want to play a course that offers more than what you bargained for, go play Champions now.

This course would actually be quite beautiful, if it wasnt in complete disrepair. Supposedly originally designed by Greg Norman, he would weep if he saw the condition. Shockingly they were fertilizing and watering the greens on Sunday morning at 11:00 am, which not only was bizarre, it was incredibly annoying because they were always one hole behind us. ...well until I said something to the head groundskeeper, who, not only was a jerk, clearly has no idea about course maintenance. The holes were very challenging and fun. I think we found more balls than we lost. The greens were bunkers. Seriously. Bottom line: With the abundance of awesome courses here in Dallas/Fort Worth, dont bother spending your hard-earned money here.

Course was in good shape. Fairways were the best I had seen out there. The Bermuda greens were a bit shaggy. The pace was pretty bad early on. They should have a starter or somebody out there at the 1st tee directing traffic. Kind of free for all. It was really backed up the first few holes, but like other times I have been there, once you get to the easier holes it opens up. I do not know if it is worth the $69 green fee when compared to other courses in the area with that same rate. However, it is worth the afternoon reduced rates. If they could cut the greens a bit shorter and get them really slick then it would be worth the higher fee.

I just finished playing the course for the first time. It is clear that it is still in winter condition, but I have no doubt that this course will be superb by the end of the month. The greens survived the winter in great shape and still roll very well. The course is challenging yet playable. A few holes have tight fairways to supplement their shorter length. Long hitters are rewarded with makeable approach shots on the 3 par 5s. Yardage books are accurate and very helpful. Overall, this is one of the best courses in the area.

Played in the rain recently. Course was in decent shape. Some tee boxes not closely mown, greens were a little thin in places, but overall I enjoyed a rainy round; difficult to tell if some of the things I saw were weather/rain related, or actual course issues. Staff was very helpful @ check in. Made sure to credit Troon account, and gave me a quick tutorial on the course before I went out; water/creeks in places that arent apparent.

The course was hosting the Texas Junior Golf event so it was quite busy. The course was challenging but dry (not surprising since it was late summer and the region was under a drought) and many of the bunkers were hard pan and rocky. We played under a Marriott golf package so it was not expensive. Other reviewers indicate maintenance has been an issue but it would be nice to play if they can maintain the course.

First they screwed up our tee time booked in advance and did not warn us, so I drove across Dfw to be told we couldnt play. At that point a manager told me to email her and she will take care of it personally. I emailed her three times with no response. Had to call and explain everything once more. The pace of play was 5 hours and 30 minutes, mediocre course and customer service that will ensure I never come back!

1. Most greens are in bad shape. Splotchy and in some cases almost completely dead. 2. Front 9 fairways are very dry 3. No signs or graphics to indicate hole layouts. Many short par 4s where you can drive balls into hidden creeks. There are several other courses within 15 min of this one that are better maintained for the same price. Also, they did not schedule tee times appropriately .

The Course is laid out very well. It is challenging for all players and a joy to play. The course was in very good condition when we played recently with only one exception - the sand bunkers are just horrible. They havent been decent in a long while. Hopefully you wont be in them but we all know there is a chance of it happening. The staff is always helpful and friendly!
