I like (most) of the course, a some holes are a little odd (like par 3s that you cant see the flagstick from the tee) but the main reason for this review relates to using GolfNow at the club. I got there a little early and despite no one going to the first tee the whole time I was there (since it was the middle of the afternoon in the summer) I was not allowed to tee off at any point before my time. It would have done no harm to let me go by myself 15 or 20 minutes before my scheduled time but instead I had to wait and then they wanted to pair me up with 3 other players. I get that its your policy but when no one is at the course you could change your "rules" to accommodate your customers a little better. Ive been in the same situation at many other golf courses using GolfNow and have never had a problem like this; they always let you go if the tee is open regardless of your time.

The course was in excellent shape, and the pace of play was very good. My only complaint with the marshal, who had issues both with etiquette and understanding of pace of play. On one hole as we were teeing off he parked his car in front of the tee box (on the cart path) puffing away on a stogie, with music blaring from his cart. Not exactly the setting I prefer when teeing off. Then on the back nine he admonished our pace of play because there was a hole open in front of us. Our foursome finished the round in 4 hours and 20 minutes, and were never pushed by the group behind us. It would have been easier to accept the criticism about pace of play (admittedly we probably were a few minutes behind the pace at that point) without the aforementioned incident on the tee box. Overall, though, I would highly recommend this course. Good challenge, and excellent condition.

Played it twice -- once in Fall and once in the Spring. Course was in better position later in the year which was surprising considering that there had been some rain in the Spring. Maybe the maintenance crew was ordered to conserve costs therefore no water placed on the fairways. Greens were in ok shape both times played -- rolled pretty true to the line picked. Mature trees, some length, a little generous on some holes and a little less on others. Pace of play on the average side -- just over 4 hours. Costs in line with other course in the area --less than $40. Staff non-existent. No beverage cart. No one in clubhouse was rude either time that I played so I dont know if the rude people are gone or not. I actually would grade at 3 1/2 stars but the rating thing doesnt like partials. Worth the trip off of 79 to play.

I have lived in the Austin area for 3 years, played lots of courses(Lions Muni, Terra Vista, Riverside ect.) nothing compares to this. I frequent these reviews looking for a good place to play, if thats what your doing right now look no further play here! If its your birthday all you have to do is pay for cart during the week! The greens make me feel like I am playing a P.G.A rated course. Its tricky and Challenging and fun all at the same time. But the best part is "Stormy" the girl that works the drink cart slash grill makes Great food and shes not so bad on the eyes. :)

Great layout. You better find out where to place your drives, or even fairway shots can be very difficult. Hole number 1, left of center. Hole 2, just left of right bunker. Hole 3 depends on your length.(middle always works). Hole 4 and 5 slightly left of center. Six par 3. Seven, hook down middle if you can. Hole 8 difficult par three. Hole Nine have not seen revisions yet. 10, 11,12 and 13 left of center. 14 par 3. 15 left of trees on right and long. 16 stay left, but watch out for bunkers. 17 par 3, 18 middle left but not too far.Good luck on this shotmakers course.

My friends and I live in the neighborhood and play this course frequently. When they want to get this course in great shape -- its a gem. They host one of the best amateur tournaments in the area, The Central Texas Amateur, so that tells you the level of challenge this course can provide. Having lived here 8 years, I can honestly say that over the last 3 months the course, particularly the greens, have been in the best shape consistently since weve lived here.

Great layout. Yes the greens are in pretty bad shape and there are 3 temporary greens as of today, but it was 27 bucks for me to play on a Wednesday afternoon (that includes cart). And from what I heard the greens are steadily improving. The rest of course was in good shape and pace of play was very fast for us. First time to play here and I will be back for sure.

Ive played golf all over the country and the condition of the greens have to some of the worst, if not THE worst Ive ever seen and the fairways were mediocre at best. Its a shame because the course layout isnt bad, but it takes a lot of fun out of it when putting through dead, mud-covered greens covered with patches of weeds.

Ive worked in the golf industry for over 5 years and have never played a course with worse greens. Concept of the course was fun but putting through freaking craters is horrible. Would never pay money for that again. Dirt for greens...

They put too many people on the course and do not manage it. So it takes for ever to play, robbing all the fun in playing golf. DO NOT PLAY HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE 6 HOURS TO WASTE. Normally they do not even start you on time.

Love this course. Its a shot makers course. Extremely challenging from the back tees. 4 handicap and it gives me all I can handle. One of the best places in Austin. Always in good shape! Wished this were a private course.

Course can be challenging. Good rates for the level of golf course. Greens are being worked on so they should be fine in a few weeks. Great staff.

A tight course that is easy enough to play but still challenging. Greens are usually nice and the price is reasonable.

Nice course but the greens are terrible. Will not play here again until the greens are repaired.

Great conditioned golf course and very challenging. Keep the driver in the bag on some holes.
