I stopped in to the cafe for lunch, so this is only a review of the food and not anything else. I ordered the baked chicken, which was accompanied by 3 sides. When the chicken arrived, there were only a few pieces of meat on a pile of bones and fat. It was really weird to be served what seemed like scraps. I pointed out the pile of mess to the waitress who took the plate and went back to the kitchen only to return with basically the same pile of scraps with a small piece of chicken added to the plate. Im not sure this is typical service or not, but I wont go back. When paying the bill, the cashier asked it everything was alright. I mentioned my dissatisfaction with the chicken but the comment was only taken, nothing was done to make it right. Too bad because it is a charming little diner with lots of locals and what looks like a good menu, but I just felt like the restaurant didnt care enough to make things right.

I agree with the person below, slow service and everything is filthy: floor, counters, sticky table tops and flies everywhere. Food was cold and tasted horrible, the one thing thats good there is pies, and the staff is very unprofessional especially the joke of a manager, Corey, he was walking around chatting with another waiter using very inappropriate language!! and to top it all off my friends daughter worked there and said she saw roaches and mice on several occasions!! EEEK If your looking for a good place to eat in blanco avoid this place at all costs!! Go to Uptown or the Chess club.

Classic nine pin bowling still set by hand but must be member to play. Disappointed in not being able to play a couple games of. My guy, John used to set up pins there when he was a boy. Great is still open! Have had the fried fish..yum!..salad bar is a plus and the burgers & fries are really good. The buffalo chicken salad was too small suggestion of more lettuce please. Homemade bigg cinnamon rolls & twists a must try ! Havent had a piece of pie as of yet but WoW !

Have been eating here for years as it is a regular stopping point on motorcycle rides west from Austin. Food is pretty good, they usually have a lunch special that is a good deal, I like the catfish. Burgers, eggs and biscuits for breakfast all pretty good. They used to have excellent home made pie (including beautiful coconut meringue) but lately pie has been very disappointing.

We stopped in to try the pie and I can honestly say this is the best bowling alley pie I have ever eaten. In fact it is the only bowling alley pie I have eaten. I love this combination. The fact that a wonderful place like this exists is what makes Texas so great.

The burger was a good traditional flat top cooked burger that was well seasoned and juicy. It would have been a higher rated burger if it were not a frozen patty. The texture of the meat detracted and a bit of the frozen patty taste was still there.

Breakfast was out quickly and was cooked Just like we ordered it. The staff was friendly and attentive. My coffee cup was never empty. The price was reasonable and the restaurant was clean. The decor is dated but its worth stopping in for breakfast.

Have been stopping by here for years for some of the best pie in the world. Last year I tried the coconut cream pie and they had changed the recipe. Hope they change it back. Dont mess with perfection. Hopefully I can check it out again soon!

I discovered the bowling club is under new night management, so I stopped by to check it out. The tables and chairs have all been clean, and the prices were good. You can definitely tell a difference! And, I understand its still improving!

Slow service. Food was cold when it finally arrived after about 30 minutes. Staff was not very friendly or attentive. Once lunch arrived the server never came back to fill drink glasses again. Dont waist your time or money! !!

Yea food not so great. Chicken fried steak.. .tough and yuck....Fish a REAL disappointment...BUT pies are AWESOME.....I THINK BURGERS THERE MIGHT B THE WAY TO GO......???

Great family fun place! The only disappointing part was that the employees were smoking five feet from the baby in our party. We have used all the lines for our family.
