Texas needs to be better at football, for the sake of college football itself. When Texas is good and playing a tough opponent, this place is as fun and loud as anywhere. When Texas is good and playing a weak opponent, the place can be a bit of a morgue. When Texas is bad and playing basically anyone, the place has way too many empty seats. I guess thats how it is anywhere. Attendance at sporting events is down across the board, in basically every sport and every region and every level of play, as people prefer to watch on their large high definition screens at home, with wi-fi and their own food and drink. The more blaring, cacophonous ads were subjected to at the game, the less likely we are to want to show up. The game experience needs many improvements, and many of those probably involve losing obvious, easy revenue for the athletic department. On the other hand, a better experience may mean more loyal fans coming to the game, donating money, and participating. DKR is a special place. It deserves a team worthy of its history and sheer magnitude. It also deserves an athletic director who understands that nickel-and-diming loyal fans is no way to run a program. I hope Texas can right the ship. College football needs a strong Texas.

As far as stadiums go, this is one of the best. Plenty of seating (9th largest in the world), one of the worlds biggest TV screens for instant replays and the like, and plenty of loud and enthusiastic fans next to you at any game. The major downside for me is that cell phone reception is a cruel joke if you have AT&T like me. Many stadiums these days are installing public wifi so that you can actually use your phone during halftime without having to walk out into the street. It seems like a small thing, but not being able to send insulting texts to your friends at other schools while theyre watching their own teams get beat is a big downside. Parking is also not the greatest, but hey - this stadium seats over a hundred thousand people and Id rather not litter the area with a zillion ugly and expensive garages. Thats the price you pay for such a great location, and who ranks sports venues based on their parking lots anyway? Other than that its a great stadium, as long as you remember to bring cash for the concessions since random ones dont take cards. Every time I go is a blast, even sitting in the upper deck nosebleeds. Hook em!

I went to the Texas longhorns spring football game. The orange team against the white team. It was my first time going to a ut game of any sorts and I was impressed with the size of the stadium. It was special and the scoring made it better. The game went into overtime and the orange team which is the defense won 52-51. It was loud and the high scoring made it even special. I got in for free because it was free attendance for the spring gm. Lots of places to get things to eat and sitting directly behind the cheerleaders and near the field was amazing. Hook em

The games are fun, the food is bad, the parking is bad, the people are cool, and no beer. Last time I went to a game was yesterday Oct 29. I had to park on 10th and San Jacinto for $10. Then I had to spend another $20 for the two of us to catch a ride from a pedicab. Once the pedicab drops us off, it takes another 15 to 30 minutes just to find your seat. All of this takes a total of 1 1/2 hours. So be sure to leave your house early enough because its a parking nightmare. And be sure to take plenty of money because I spent $30 before I even got to the stadium.

Came here years ago. I distinctly remember it was a game against The University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns and they rewarded Vice Young at halftime for his performance in their National Championship season in 2005-06. Ill always remember thinking of the great view I had, even though I was 4-6 rows from the very top of the stadium. All of the usual football fare, hotdogs, nachos, popcorn, and peanuts are the staples. A "must visit" as someone living in central Texas, regardless of collegiate affiliation.

This huge venue is home to my alma mater the Texas Longhorns. They are efficient getting 82 plus thousand people in the venue in time for game time. The jumbotron is amazing. Lower level seating is fantastic. Not a bad view of the field. There is no roof so you are exposed to the elements. There is one food court with a Starbucks. On the opposite end there is the famed Chilantro food truck. You must go to a UT home game if you are are in town. Hook em.

When Texas is good, the atmosphere is fun and energetic, but when they are down, it is a bunch of people that sit on their hands the entire time. Great facilities, but low fan support when the team is down. Take a hint from the Aggie fans and cheer your team on when the going is tough, not just when its good. Baylor has more enthusiasm than Texas fans. Kyle field is easily the most electric and fun atmosphere in the nation. Texas is not even close.

Absolutely amazing stadium. Its definitely an experience to watch a longhorn football game here, even if youre not a longhorn fan. They dont serve alcohol at the games...yet (the new athletic director is trying to), but they have some good local food favorites to eat, not just your typical hot dogs and nachos. The big jumbotron screen could use an upgrade, and if its a late afternoon game, try to get seats on the west side to catch some shade.

Home of the University of Texas Longhorns this is a fun stadium to watch a game which manages despite its massive size to still feel intimate. While not the newest football stadium its one filled with history and character from the statues surrounding the stadium to the plaques inside it oozes character in every nook and cranny. Well worth the trip just to check it out for every fan of College football.

This is one of my favorite stadiums. We always park in the streets to the North of the stadium and then enjoy a 15 minute walk to the football game. Weve tried parking in the garages that are included with our season tickets but it can take an hour to wind your way down and out of those after a game. Its much nicer to get some exercise and stroll through the lovely neighborhoods back to your vehicle.

Ive ben to the new Cowboy Stadium, and DK Royal is more impressive. The size of the stadium, the amount of people, and the amount of energy is insane. The scoreboards are huge and very easy to read. Drinks and food are expensive but not ridiculous. Parking can be tough due to tailgating but the walk through the tailgating area is always fun. Texas Fight!

The State of Texas pours the lions share of money into this gaping, embarrassing, soul-sucking black hole of a stadium. Now that "Butter Teeth" has taken his weird, monotone computer voice to the television studio and theyve replaced him with Mandingo, maybe they will win more than 4 games this year. Yeah, nice, big stadium.

My only complaint about this stadium is that you cant buy alcohol. But there is nothing like watching a UT football game from the stands! If you really need a drink, hit up a tailgating party down the road before the game or stop by Scholz Garten where you can also watch the game on their giant screen outside.
