We bought tickets for 3 games at Petco Park. One set was for the front row in the Toyota Terrace near home plate, two were field level near the bullpen and 3rd base. The Toyota Terrace seats were good, and provided an excellent view of the park. The prices for beer were higher, but the food prices were lower for in seat service vs. standing in line for food. The staff here did a good job. The seats and amenities are not as posh as they are at other baseball stadiums, but I have no complaints either. The field level seats did provide a good view of the field, when you could see it. The staff here was the problem. The vendors walk up and down the aisles during gameplay, obscuring the view of home plate while peddling cotton candy, peanuts and lemonade. Baseball fans want to see the game, and buy their snacks between innings, at least in every other baseball stadium in the country! The event staff allow fans to stand and walk up and down the aisles during gameplay, also obscuring the view! When I asked them, politely, to stop letting people walk up and down the aisles during gameplay because they are blocking the view, the staff ignored me completely! I even sent a text to their helpline, telling them that the vendors and staff were blocking the view of home plate during game play, including the section number. Again, I was completely ignored. Not even a canned response! I finally had to yell at people to sit down, and got yelled at back by the other fans; even then the event staff did nothing! One would think that when you spend over $100 per ticket, you would get to see a whole baseball game, but apparently not in Petco Park! I got to see about 1/3 of the actual game, and missed a home run because the event staff and fans were walking around and blocking the view. No one seemed to care that there was a baseball game taking place. My advice: Stay home and watch the game on TV. I will be. Because of how bad this experience was.

Elite security officers are always seem to be messing it up. Bag searches are terrible. They threw away my drinks, before I had chance to mention about my medical reason of being diabetic. It didnt matter to them because of the drink policy. Yet I saw some bags which they over look so fast and miss out seeing the alcohol in the woman purse. Unfairly treated and medical lawsuit coming at them soon. The seats were ok, but when they are taking my seats and should have more employees to control this. Especially for college nights, I always seem to find minors drinking and smoking. The supervisor didnt do anything after I told him. He said too much paper work. I just went back to my seat and felt unfairly treated. These policies are overlooked and some security just turn a blind eye and then turn to watching the games. I pay to watch the games. Not you Elite. After the game I saw the ABM concession employees walking out onto the Gas Lamp side, with large bags of popcorn and other items. Isnt this stealing? Yet Elite doesnt control this. Maybe if there wasnt so much stealing going on. Then the food would be cheaper. And if they did their job then maybe would be a better place. I always seem to over hear some Elite employees complaining about not getting their breaks, bathrooms, and lunches. Maybe they should have union and stop their whinning .

Sucks. Rude staff who want to believe their law enforcement. Some jerk with a bull horn. But even after all this me and my wife tried to make the best of it. First we were told we could not bring in our motorcycle helments. We had to go to customer service were they would hold them. But only 15 minutes after the game. Then we went back to the member only gate and was welcomed to enter. I was putting everything in the bowl I was told that the chain that connects my long wallet to my belt was not allowed in. How many times I have gone through airport security with no problem. But this stadium is so high tech, just think of the damage I could have done with my wallet and chain. I could have strangled everyone in the stadium then it would have been all mine. San Diego and Petco Park all mine. I mean they took our helmets that were plastic explosive but that idea was not so smart my wife and myself would have lost our jobs if we showed up at work with our heads missing, explain that one to your boss. So to sum up this day a perfect plan was stopped by the jerks who make up these rules and the minimum wage workers who enforce them. So this plan that was put together cost us 168.00 for tickets and 25.00 for parking. Rest safe San Diego we have been beaten and will never buy tickets for any sporting event in San Diego. Sincerely, Sons of Arthritis.

Theres a lot to like about Petco. Great views, pretty stadium, good food and drink options. That said, heres the not so hot: ticket prices for a team that rarely plays .500 ball are exorbitant. Im a Giants fan and Petco is often dubbed "AT&T South" because of the large contingent of SF fans that attend games and take over the cheering. You can even hear it on television. I paid triple $ at Petco than I do at AT&T for the same matchup. And to no surprise, there were maybe 10k people in Petcos 40k+ stadium. The sound at the ballpark is offensive. They think it funny to blast the music so loudly during the opposing teams mound visits, or to get the crowd riled up to Make Some Noise that I saw mothers carrying their children out of the stadium with their hands over their ears. A note to the Padres front office: Perhaps try less gimmicks and actually put a winning product on the field. Good baseball doesnt need a free tv, the wave or deafening techno. An usher was terribly rude to my friend about her being a Giants fan, to which my friend responded that no usher at AT&T would ever heckle an out of town fan, which is true, but sad that there was even a conversation. All in all it made me appreciate everything we have in San Francisco even more. If you happen to be in San Diego, by all means catch a game. And bring earplugs.

Amazing scenic stadium.. HORRIBLE STAFF and incompetent workers. I (military veteran)went to SD for the weekend series against the Cardinals(3games 150+ for two tickets , @3 games that is over $450). had 4 drunken idiots, who the Padres staff overserved alcohol, attempt to attack me, and the security sat there and watched em. Several other guests around me ask them to stop using profanity as it was a sunday day game and there are kids everywhere. Of course because these drunken idiots spewed profanity everywhere, and attempted to assault me, i of course did not retaliate and still was kicked out of the park even though everyone said it was the drunken 4-some. I am a big boy so Im not whining because some bully picked on me, im complaining that i did everything correct as a spectator should, and the staff did everything wrong. SD PADRES organization and Petco park is not a Military friendly place, regardless of all the hoopla they pretend to cater to the Military personnel in SD. Veterans do not spend your money here.
