The course itself is sub-par but maintains moderate value considering the cost. However, the flaws in the course werent the culprits of my unfavorable experience. Unfortunately, it was my interactions with what seemed to be a bit of an elitist staff of senior "gentlemen". Just trying to pay and get to the first hole, we were approached with what felt like a "you boys ever been on a golf course?" mindset. The vibe continued when we patiently waited for the twosome in front of us to find their shots in the rough and move onto the green. We took our shots and the guy I was playing with had to go find his ball (which he did in no more than 5min). Sure enough, here comes a ranger informing us we need to increase our pace of play. Im not a great golfer, but Ive played 20+ years, including for my high school years ago. Im aware of how quickly a group should be moving along. Not to mention, there were only 2 of us. The point is, people come to this course for the lax atmosphere of a public city course and these old guys thought they were running Pebble Beach. The only thing that resembled a beach out there were the greens made of 95% sand, causing for highly inconsistent speeds and the spitting of putts offline that was nothing short of laughable. If youre looking for an affordable place to play, your money is better spent at Riverside, Two Rivers, or McCabe.

I only played the front nine there but the fairways and especially the greens were in a terrible condition! Also there is no direction about the holes at the tee boxes nor on the score card. Since the course is very hilly and the greens are often not visible from the tees, that would have been helpful. I think thats a good course for beginners. I have not seen any bunkers or water hazards. However if you are a more skilled player and you value better green/fairway condition I would recommend you to play at McCabe or Ted Rhodes. Both public courses in the same price range.

Awful service. The guys in front of me were rushed and told to join some guy and start in 5 minutes. They didnt get to warm up. No reason for the rush. My cart broke down and I walked half the course. They had a Rude response when they said I dont get a refund. They drove by me on the course without giving me a lift.

I play for the the Glen cliff high school in Nashville Tn and I play the course for most of my matches,I walk that course 4 times a week with golf clubs in my back in the heat, this is a tough 18 hole course with the hills ,but i got used to it after a while. Give the course a chance.

Really nice course! There is a good combination of long drives (360 yards) and smaller tighter more technical 180 yard holes. All for only $14 including the kart per person. They do not allow sharing clubs but if you dont have a set they can rent you some for 12 dollars.

As another reviewer said, you will get what you paid for. Very hilly. Very narrow fairways. They do not maintain fairways. hard to find course numbers. I could not find next courses easily. Some signs on the road but I could not read. Do not waste your money.

Played course last Friday and WOW what a change from 2 years ago. The course will test your ability while having great fun. One of the better kept secrets on Nashville public golf courses. A must for and fun loving golfer.

If you have to golf here do yourself a favor and rent the cart. We walked and wore ourselves out on the huge and steep hills. None of the holes were marked, it was impossible to have a good time.

Great condition. Rough was a little rough. Thats why you hit the fairway right? lol Greens were great and the staff was awesome. A little hilly but if you want a flat course go to Indiana...

A friend of mine walked 9 with me. We avoided getting hit by balls from the moment we teed off until our last putts. That friend also got a yeast infection during his round; hes a guy.

Played 18 in 4.5 hours. Course is in great shape. If you like variety, Shelby should be on your play list.
